High draft picks are like a double-edged sword. If they are spent wisely, any franchise can become a contender in just a few years. If the franchise screws up the draft, they miss one of the few chances to make their team competitive, leaving them stuck in the mud, and ridiculed by the world. In this video, we’ll talk about those instances when the GM’s screwed up badly.

I cannot understand why people keep calling Oden a bust. In my opinion he would be called one of biggest what if. Because, let's be honest, Greg 1st pick was absolutely legit because everyone predicted he would be the next big thing. And everyone knew the valute of KD too! Oden was extremely unlucky with his health but he was very good. And in the games he played as a Blazer he showed he could play at an high level. But then his body collapsed. This is why you can't call him a bust.

What percentage of those drafted have successful basketball careers in the NBA?
If there was one benefit Anthony Bennett got from being drafted first, that would be that it allowed him to stay in the league longer than what was expected from a bust his level. He himself stated that being drafted #1 helped him to stay in the NBA and at least opened more opportunities for him, or else he would essentially be a goner in like 2-3 years.

I think that was explained in the video.
I still feel bad for greg oden if he was healthy hes probably a star rn ngl
I know they went to the nba but some of the players went straight from college in just there freshman year cut them some slack, not everyone is going to be the goat as soon as they step on an NBA court
I don't think you can call Greg Oden or Sam Bowie busts because they suffered injuries
