Gamecube easily beats all the consoles of that generation in Graphics. The only disappointment in that console was the small disc size which limited it's capabilities and perhaps the lack of online games.

The PS2 needs to be #1, my only complaint.

I understand that the Dreamcast wasn't popular but it deserves a spot or an honorable mention. One of the first game consoles I've ever played. The graphics were amazing, the selection of games were awesome and the quality of the audio was fantastic. Felt like you were really fighting criminals in Virtua Cop 2. Long live the Dreamcast!

The GameCube is amazing, it's very under appreciated for what it could handle, like the Super Smash Bros Melee intro, there was some truly amazing games in there such as Luigis mansion and some of the ORIGINAL Call of Duty games. All the GameCube, because it puts other consoles to shame. (Not to mention they barely have any competition!)

Me too, buddy, me too. I feel bad for the people who didn't get to experience it as a child. And the SNES wasn't even apart of my generation. I just always got a lot of hand-me-downs from my rich cousins. I grew up on the NES, SNES, Playstation and Atari 2600 consoles. Such great memories. But I always wanted a Gamecube because that was the current Nintendo console when I was at that age. Too bad I could never afford one (I didn't get one until Gamestop started selling them dirt chap used years later). I ended up using all of my mowing money to buy a DS when I actually did save up enough for a current game machine. I apologize for basically telling you my life story there. :P

Heartbreaking to see so many gamers call the Wii trash. It's not. Even for the core gamer, there are some seriously good titles, motion-controlled or not. Resident Evil 4, Sin and Punishment Star Successor, Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, and so much more

@@BallMuncher555 I just figured the controller is stupid, it had a shorter lifespan, the games were more expensive and cartridges couldn't hold as much, it wasn't very attractive for 3d parties to develop for if your not Rare or Nintendo. It wasnt a good console for RPGs. Not to mention that not many games were released for it. The console only sold like 1\3 of what the PSX sold. Those aren't reasons that kept me from playing the N64 as I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I figure they are reason enough to rank slightly behind the PSX.

Everyone should be, because it was not better. N64 = Under 400 games. PlayStation = Over 4,000 games.

This video is 9 years old, and the list has aged really well, and still holds up. I don't think there has been a console since the 7th generation (Wii/PS3/360) that can rival these systems on this list. Except maybe Nintendo Switch. But in my personal opinion, the PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S comes nowhere near close to what the PS3 and Xbox 360 were. Maybe it's because of how out of touch triple A companies have become, as well as shoving microtransactions and lootboxes down our throats. Or maybe it's because of how gaming nowadays is mostly online only. Where everything needs patching and installing, and many games being online multiplayer. PS3 and Xbox 360 was the last console generation where you bought the disc and you own every piece of content on the disc alone. You put the disc in the console, and it'll play! No installation needed. And the online modes were optional, and not part of the full experience necessarily. I don't see much innovation with PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, because a lot of ideas these consoles have, has already been done with PS3 and Xbox 360. PS4 is just a more powerful PS3. And PS5 is just a more powerful PS4. Graphics in the HD era of consoles look so similar. In a lot of cross-gen games, I can barely tell any difference with the PS3 and PS4 versions, and PS4 and PS5 versions.

The PS3 should have been on this list for 2 reasons. More powerful than the xbox360 and better exclusives. Take for example, Resistance, Uncharted, The Last Of Us, The Walking Dead, MAG, Gran Turismo, Killzone (A.K.A The HALO killer) I'm not saying the 360 should not be on this list, I'm just saying that the PS3 deserves at least to be 6 or higher.

Austin Name i think he means the phrase 'Halo Killer", which refers to a console exclusive that essentially raises the sales and publicity of that console. the term was derived after the success of halo CE, and how it changed xbox, basically killing off other games, which really made halo the talk of the early 2000's. even so, this is a misprint, because in no way has killzone defined the ps3, in fact, i no ps3 exclusives have defined, it has been games like GTA and COD that have defined the ps3. while xbox has Gears of war, Forza, and of course, HALO, while upcoming games like titanfall, show to be even more promise to microsoft and xbox

The Walking Dead by TellTale Games was PS3 EXCLUSIVE.

Fun fact: There actually WAS an arcade version of the original Super Mario Bros. Some levels were different and it didn't have that continue code, but it's still fun if your local arcade has this machine, which my local arcade does.

+Chris Decarvalho In terms of raw sales data, the Wii DESTROYED the competition. It also brought non gamers into the console gaming fold, so yeah, I'd say it deserves the spot. It may not be a great "core" gaming console, but, unlike most other modern consoles, it was never sold at a loss, and by appealing to a non gamer crowd, it managed to carve out a niche and helped to really bring gaming into the mainstream.

It saddens me that the Dreamcast isn’t on this list. Their gameplay and diversity of games was phenomenal for their short retail time.

Wii was the first and only console I have ever owned. It introduced to me the world of video games. I'm probably going to go back to the Wii to play Mario Kart Wii as long as its still working. Its stored somewhere though.

My top 10 1. PS2 2. Nintendo 64 3. PS3 4. Gameboy Advance SP 5. Xbox 360 6. Dreamcast 7. PS1 8. Sega Genesis 9. Super Nintendo 10. Gameboy I rated by the amount of enjoyment I had with the product, as well as it's creativity (in my opinion).

PS2 is definitely the best of all time, they just stopped making games for it about half a year ago

Why would I buy a vita that only has like 5 games when I could by a ds with large amounts of games. Xbox one underrated? No not at all, its not a top tier console like the ones back in the day as well as only improving a tad bit, and a ps3? Well not as good as a ps2.

Jay WalkZ Their my most underrated consoles and devices, not my best. i prefer the ds line more than the portable playstations, but that does not mean they are bad. same with the xbox one, and thats kind of unfair to compare it to the ps2 considering that system now has a library that spans over 8 years of content as opposed to 11 months on the market. but IYO what is your top five most underrated systems?

I agree with the gamecube and PSVita but the WiiU coulda been the Wii2 but instead of upgrading the system specs of the Wii, they decided to add a touchscreen. PSVita can still make a comeback tho and I really want it too. Maybe the XBone was a little underrated but really the PS3 was never underrated and one of the most amazing consoles of all time. In fact it was slightly overrated

The Super NES and Playstation X are special to me because those are the first two consoles I ever owned.

I love how they put Xbox and PlayStation at the thumbnail but the NES took number one

Bull Dog Fuck you people may not use it anymore but it's still the best of all time

I've still got my 12 year old PS2, and it's still the console I use the most. All those inventive and immersive PS1 & 2 games still have so much replay value. And due to there being SO many games (PS1 & 2 combined) there's still a lot of "new" gaming experiences for me to have. I find most modern games a bit too hand-holdy and shallow.

i suppose they HAD to put the 360 in the list, since there were already 2 playstations. but a better roster of exclusives? maybe for the first 2 years of last gen. from 2008 onwards the ps3 had way more quality exclusives.

My top 10 list 10. Gameboy(original,color, and Advance 9. Nintendo 64 8. NES 7. Sega Dreamcast 6. Wii 5. Game Boy Advance 4. Sega Genesis 3. PlayStation 2 2. Game cube 1. Super Nintendo But I honestly love all my video game consoles. Even the ones I didn’t include. Well except for the Sega Saturn and the game Gear.

My Top favorite 10 list: 10: Xbox 360 9: Sega Genesis 8: Sega Dreamcast 7: Nintendo GameCube 6: Atari 2600 5: Game Boy 4: PS1 3: SNES 2: NES 1: PS2

Guys, stop fighting because NES came first on this list. First, It is their opinion and their Top ten list. Secondly, If it werent for the NES we would not have video games because of the video game crash of 1983.

We would still have video games. They would just be extremely different because Nintendo wouldn't have been there to influence them. The crash didn't kill video games, they would still come back regardless.

Muchacho 1994 What i mean is that we would not have playstation or xbox... Sony wanted to compete with the SNES so a couple years later we got the playstation and when the playstation 2 launched microsoft wanted to make the xbox :P

Buizel MC you shouldn't really make statements like that, because it's hypothetical and you would have no way of proving what you're saying is true. i remember it being a fallacy of some kind, but i can't put my finger on the name. however in my opinion, i agree with Muchacho 1994. sure gaming might not look the same as it does now, but that doesn't mean it would have shriveled away to non existence. video games are just a medium of entertainment, like music. but just because a justin bieber, or taylor swift comes along, doesn't mean it's the end of the industry.

Ricky King He meant that no one would have produced games. There were only bad games in that era, people almost stopped to buy them. Even if they stayed, who would buy such low quality crap? (Zelda CDi games)

Xbox 360 is higher than the N64 PS1 and Gameboy? Seriously? I love my 360 but it should be lower on the list like 8 or 9

I loved them all. Its hard to say which one was the best for me. I have fond memories playing my Gameboy on break at work and on the school bus. I still have my NES my mom gave me when I was 9 years old. I remember riding my bike to Shopko to buy my Playstation and FF7 with my first paycheck from McDonald's. I spent countless hours playing Everquest Online Adventures with my step brother on the Playstation 2. And even though it wasn't mine, my first game was Frogger which I used to play on my big sister's Atari 2600 when I was 5. Also played my first online game, Phantasy Star Online with a friend at work on my Sega Dreamcast. I can't really pick a favorite.

I started playing my first wii when I was a young lad. I never stop remembering those memories.... Edit: My god Mario galexy was my favorite game.

Mario fan28 Yea you maybe right, but it wasn't very cutting edge. I didn't give it much of chance to be honest. I have never liked 3D platformer's, so I guess I'm biased. Playstation 1 blew my mind as a teenager. In my opinion it's the only sony console that belongs in the top ten.

Yup, another Nintendo console that will go down as one of the best consoles ever, so long as they have a decent library. You’ve already got two of the best games from two of the best Mario series in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Odyssey, and I hear the new Mario Party is amazing as well. If we get a new Mario soccer and baseball, I’ll be happy. The only one that’s been a disappointment to me has been Aces.

Wait...the Xbox 360 introducer wireless technology? What? I really hope he's not talking about controllers. The Gamecube says hi. And internet play was introduced way before the 360 too. Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, even the Gamecube, all of them had it. Then again, PC had it waaaay before any other console. Anyways, great list. The NES makes sense as the #1 spot. This list is not about what console has the best games, after all. -That'd be the PC-

Sega was the 1st game console to go online starting with the saturn and dreamcast allowed players to play with pc players i guess thats when microsoft and sega was working together at the time you can see when dreamcast was coming out with the dvd player drive to sell more on the ps2 but microsoft left sega and started there own console which the xbox became u can see from the controls there the same

Playstation 2 is the best games console. I can see why you put NES though. You probably thought "I should put an old "legendary" console from the 8 or 16-bit years because mario and sonic are so "legendary" and stuff."

Fucking agree man, it has the best and widest catalogue of all consoles. Separate thought: why is the xbox even on this list? The Gamecube should have that spot.

walamonga1313 well the wii is basically the gamecube as well, because not only did it play the games you could use the controllers and the game cube was only local the 360 refined their online idea and made the online AAA games like CoD on consoles what it is, they made it possible to play with people from across the world on a console.

My top 10 would be: 1. GameCube 2. Xbox 360 3. 3DS 4. SNES 5. Wii 6. Xbox One 7. Genesis 8. N64 9. PS1 10. DS

Idk what this is I've never owned a console except when my brother got an Xbox 1, those were the good times...
