I am glad that University of Chicago is in the top ten universities in the world. Both Enrico Fermi and the father of the Manhattan Project J. Robert Oppenheimer were professors here. Another interesting tidbit to say. Tom Scholz, lead guitarist, song writer, inventor and music engineer for the rock band named Boston, earned a master's in electrical engineering from MIT. I first went to an american junior college Cumberland in Lebanon Tennessee, then to Vanderbilt for a BA , then to Harvard for a Masters. The teachers I had at Cumberland were better, more individual attention, . .Harvard is all about citations and publications of faculty, for reasons of prestige and therefore alumni donations, . . don't be blinded by the prestige of a school.

Is diploma a matter of printshop away? Why some un schooled, illiterate bastards of US military are doctors, engineers, lawyers and other profession. Tell it like it is! I need a little US$ blotter so I don't have to work, and I still can donate to the endownment fund of Harvard.

I totally agree.Prestige is a matter of God knows what . While all of these schools boast Nobel Prize Winners,it was omitted to mention the fact that these winners got their positions at these Universities only AFTER winning their prizes and actually most of them got their education and training,prior to winning the prize, at other,not so prestigeous universities. Prestige is a matter of surface recognition and judgement and not necessarily of talent or in depth assessment.

I Iove the consistency of Stanford University. I love Stanford. I'd go to Stanford one day.

My son in law completed Post Doctoral Research on Microbiology from Harvard University in June,2022. Now he is joining as Faculty of BITS,Pilani, Hyderbad.

If you get in to Stanford and can't afford it, everything is free, including room and board. In fact if your parents have a family of 4 and make $120k or less per year, you don't pay tuition. They have $36.5 billion endowment. So, aim high and don't worry about not being able to afford it. All of the top universities have endowment and provide scholarships.

However artefacts have been excavated to prove that we were a far more sophisticated society than at first thought.. Britain went on to make the modern world with the industrial revolution and invented far more than any other nation. It had the biggest empire the world had ever seen. Far bigger than any other country.

They have found intricate and elaborate jewellery and items of gold etc. Regarding our language, most languages have bits of other languags mixed in. What importance is that? . It is the number one important language in the world now and Italy is way behind. The Roman empire was small compared to the British empire.

Sorry to break it to you, but age does not make you the best by default. There are more important things when considering the best universities. Such as: advancements in academics, brilliant inventions, faculty excellence, research output, diversity, vast resources, etc. There are a lot of factors at play here. Harvard, MIT, & Stanford for instance are ahead of Oxford in many ways. I'll provide an example. Oxford has a larger student population than Harvard yet there have been 150 Nobel laureates from Harvard versus 70 from Oxford. Very interesting.

Quantum university has great infrastructure and has the best facilities available for students who are from out of uttrakhand provide the hostel facility too. Faculty: quantum university has very co operative faculty all faculty in quantum university has phds and have more than 5 year of experince.Even before university you can meet them.

Among the 66 field medals earned, 12 are by French scientists/mathematicians and 15 by US scientists/mathematicians (France = 66 Million inhabitants, US = 300 000 000 ) While no French university is mentioned in any "best universities ranking " The french entrance exams for ENS ULM is maybe the toughest mathematics exam in the world. In conclusion, the university's global ranking doesn"t mean everything. Each rich country has its own education system that produces the best engineers/scientists. chinese/korean education system is said to be tough, but how many Chinese/Korean mathematicians got the field's medals compared to European/Us mathematicians?

The Times Higher Education Survey had four English universities in the top five: Oxford, Cambridge, University College London (UCL) and Imperial College London. The others were the obvious American ones. It depends on what you measure and whom you ask to measure it.

It is interesting to note that Harvard's traditional rival, Yale, failed to make the top 10, although frankly, one could easily have substituted Yale for Princeton in the top 10. There are many criteria that these rankings use depending on how reputable they are but one of the most respectable, the Times rankings,(THES) gave a broadly similar result although it ranked Oxford as #1. It also ranked Tsinghua and Peking universities at 12 and 14 respectively, so who knows, maybe Tsinghua will crack the top 10 next year?
