The ending was fantastic, as was the show but snowfall was better

I’m so happy The Americans made it on this list!! Glad people recognize how good this show was.

Better call Saúl ending was the Best sent off to the franchise as a whole

The Expanse, The Good Place, Community, Justified, Mayans MC, Star Trek: Picard, Agents of SHIELD, Loki, and Legion deserved at least a mention.

Bates Motel I think is the only satisfying series finale I've ever seen, the only one not to dissapoint immeasurably.

Snowfall. One of the best villains in tv history, franklin saint, decided to take the nuclear option to deal with all the damage he caused, becomes something absolutely unrecognisable by the end, acted superbly and is a proper twisted ending for such a great character.

The Leftovers is definitely one of the best endings of a show if not the best.

Better Call Saul is the best. No doubt about it. A great end to a prequel and epilogue along with the franchise.

I'm surprised Boardwalk Empire isn't on here. The ending was a bit of a shock but I was ok with it because I couldn't think of a more fitting way to tie up the story

Just the other night I watched the very last episode of The Good Doctor. Never expected it to end the way it did. It was brilliant and totally unexpected!

Honorable mention: Homeland (2011-2020)

The Shield belongs on this list, that ending was amazing. The show had it’s ups and downs but the ending was top notch.

I remember a lot of people not liking the BCS finale because of saul confessing his guilt and taking the prison sentence. As much as i liked him, getting away wouldn't have done anything to redeem the character. He'd have always been the cancer people said he was, and looking over his shoulder forever. He finally said fk it

I just watched Succession on earlier this year and watched the ending where the Roy Siblings don't get the CEO position is so satisfying. They know nothing about the real world, the way they're begging the CEO position is like kids begging to their favorite toy, and they treat the company like their own playground. They are pathetic especially Kendall whose entire life is about getting the CEO position since he got promised by his dad since he was a kid in a candy store. (That's already sound pathetic enough) Even their dad, Logan Roy's last world to them was, "I love you, but you are not serious people."

I would not even consider Succession having a great ending. To me, a great ending is when all the good people get happy endings and when all the villains get their comeuppance.

But, we as the viewers are mostly can't stand the Roys siblings the most as they are spoiled, delusionals, treat people like craps and even know nothing about real world. So, the ending of them not getting the CEO position is so satisfying because their dad left them with nothing. They become nothing in society without their dad. Even Roman confirmed that, "We're nothing. We're bullshits."

At that level of wealth, most decent human beings have either refused to sell out or avoided screwing others over. Succession reminds us that the universe often keeps things messy and unpredictable. If all the good people got happy endings and the villains received their just deserts, we’d have to call it "Fairy Tale," not "Succession." 😉

Succession and Better Call Saul were masterpieces. But Sons of Anarchy not being on here (2014) voids this list. Dexter New Blood made up for its horrid original ending. I liked TWDs finale but it really wasn’t a finale.

Hard disagree. I absolutely loved SOA, but, we're talking finale's here and that final season and episode was pure dogsh*t. The way they chose to end it with Chibbs being made president over Tig, killing off Unser and Jax taking the cowards way out just to "do what his dad did" was all bs. Even the CGI Semi Truck collision was terrible. I hate how they ended that show but just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

Chiba deserved to be president waaay before Tig. Tig made way too many bad decisions throughout the show. The last season honestly wasn’t because Jax’s arc was complete as he descended into a monster. Killing unser was a little weird and the CGI was inexcusable I’ll give you that. I did hate that Jax killed himself but he was going to die anyway. Just because I hated the ending doesn’t mean it was bad. One thing I hated was how the enemies became weaker at the end.

Man I completely forgot about The Leftovers. The first season was interisting, but the last season was such a snoozefest I couldn't force myself to keep going.

Perfect examples of how to properly end a show

#1 Game of Thrones “instantly runs away before the comment section looses it”

The best thing about that show is that there won't be any more of it.

The ending of Succession with Tom becoming ceo was incredible. It was a really tragic ending for Kendall but seeing Tom go from possibly being sent to prison and treated like garbage by his wife to becoming ceo in the end was epic.

I hated the ending for Better Call Saul because it was blatantly just playing to the viewer's wishes.

@@coryjack606 Watch it again from episode 1. Watch his relationships and how they are different to his and Kim’s. Watch how he loses himself and how he regrets it. It’s all there. All there. The show is genius because of it. He knew he fucked it all up. His very last chance to make it right and have redemption in her eyes, the last time, he was not gonna let it slip. He did it for her.

@@cactaceous Idk when he regrets it. If he regrets it why does he go back into committing crimes? He even rips off the cancer guy mirroring Walter cause he hates Walter. Saul would have weaseled his way out and blamed Walter and got free. Him seeing Kim and confessing doesn’t even make sense either. He has no chance getting back together with her so why confess? Doesn’t make sense.

Game of Thrones’ last season was atrocious and the last episode incredibly unsatisfying. I do not recommend the show because the let down that final season is very very painful and seems like you have wasted hours of your life devoted to nothing.
