Another good tip with the ranging in case the people don't have rangefinders....if you spot an animal with your binoculars. They show up on your map. Make a waypoint for it, and it will show the distance to the animal. :)

Onilrem the reason why this does not work any longer is because it was being abused MASSIVELY there's not skill there's no need for tracking it's just aim and shoot down lane and collect collect collect however, there are still some spots where you could still do this but they are nowhere near as profitable this one was, hence the reason those ones still exist

i mean i tried this and had something else happen, there was a bunch of roosevelt elk females just frozen, couldnt spook em if i tried. so i shot some, turned my back to the open, turned around and bang, another one spawned. i farmed it until i was standing too close and one of em gave me a headbutt, i died. still have no idea what caused this

For real. Glad it got patched up. That is clearly an exploit that takes absolutely zero skill to perform. If that is how people just play the game all the time they should uninstall tbh. It's completely counter intuitive to what hunting even is. I wouldn't even consider that hunting target practice would be more accurate. Where is the fun in shooting fish in a barrel. They don't run away you literally can't mess up #1 unless you got the IQ of a toddler. What's more important is you are never going to get better and hunt the big things if you just shoot animals that literally run in circles. You will never be able to track effectively to hunt the animals that actually matter.

Wat does indicator mean in the left bottom corner

Tip #11: you can take down a whole herd of deer in a Need Zone from 150m but the trick is to only fire 1 shot at a time; they scatter but come back. If you fire 2 or more shots they will scatter and move on.

Nr 1 tip from me. remember to swap guns before harvesting trophies. If you need archery experience point you just swap before collecting animals. I've shoot animals at 250-400m with the 7mm rifle and collect them with archery xp bonus.

Hmmm that is good to know. They may have changed it with the update and i wasnt aware! It use to be dependent on the damage done per the shot. So if you had used a bow but finished it with your 7mm you would get score split according to the % of damage done on each shot directly linked to the info on the harvest screen. I will definatley go check this out to confirm! Ty my friend!! 🍻

JaxyBeard I've collected nearly all my archery xp that way. I've only shoot 1 or 2 animals with the bow. so lt's archery xp without using a bow.

Get in a stand, do some deer calls, lay down, go eat supper, when you come back there will be 10 deer at your feet

My best and first moment in call of the wild is when I just started I was testing my calls and used a roe deer call 2 mins. Later a roe deer came by me and I shot it straight in the eye with a revolver

@@chimpgaming8290 you see like wood planks on the floor, they are laid out in numerous locations. When u see one then u walk up and press (E) and it builds. However it costs 2100 so make sure you have the funds.

I´ve just started out on COTW, after coming from Classic, with almost 800h. And I can´t express how useful this vid. was for me! You´ve gotten a new sub. for sure...

Quick tip. For distance, you can pull up the map quickly when or before you spot an animal, and place a waypoint in the direction you are shooting, as it shows up on ur hud you can use that until you get the rangefinder.

Thanks for the tips and nice video. Having issues myself with tracking. Either i go so slow i don't catch up or i go fast and make so much noise they scoot off before i see them.

A good tip for people without a rangefinder is to use pings if you see a deer far off thats drinking at the lip of a lake than aproximate a ping and youll get a pretty good estimation of just how far they are

If you dont have a range finder. Just set a way point, to the right of the tunnel. And go to about 150 m. As He is telling u in the video. Happy hunting

I've had this game downloaded for sometime. Tried it but seemed to be super hard to find game. Also after I shoot and hit them after tracking almost seems like I could never find them as the trail went cold and they vanish. But got into a few days ago and been finally leveling up.

I didn't realize you could drive a quad. This game doesn't stop amazing me. Jaxy, there is a lot more to this game then I ever new. You should be a modivational speaker, this video just flowed! Hats off! Stay awesome Jaxy!

So I was having a ton of trouble with this game and my friend gave me 1 tip that changed everything. I'm still in the early game and for some reason I only come across bears and moose, in both cases I always go for the head shot and I never get a kill. Then my friend told me to start aiming for the lungs, which are right behind the shoulders. Now i get one hit kills every time and I actually enjoy the game. My poor penetration bullets couldn't break a skull aparently...

Best thing to remember is to be patient. Your not always going to see something and if you do it may not die. If it does not die and you can't find it again don't get upset, carry on. Your not going to get better stuff if you ragequit all the time.

Another tip: don't chase an animal if you see it run. lol. of course you wouldn't do it in real life, i know that. but i was like "you know what, it's going downhill so maybe i can get a shot since it's a game" 10 seconds later the mule deer charged me and knocked me out lol

Watch zaggidk a lot, finally found you, lol. I play this on Xbox, but the recent patch screwed tho fs17 up. Lost my guns, and made me restart

Hey Jax great tips! I absolutely love COTW and was wondering about the M1 rifle I can't seem to find the ammo for it? and also out of the rifles that cost $ which would you recommend?

just a tip/story i have: one time i shot a whitetail from 8.2 meters. i was squatted and motionless. what actually happened was i left my xbox for about three or four minutes to go do something and came back to see a buck almost on me. couldnt believe it. i might have been using the bleat caller but not 100 percent sure. i may have been under some branches and not known it because i had a clear view of him but apparently he just couldnt see me. I know about halfway through you were talking about distances and whatnot so i figured i would share.

Very helpful! I wish I checked this sooner, but I am still fairly new to the game so it will certainly help.

I just discovered this game yesterday. Installed in on my Xbox series S for $10. I wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy a hunting video game, but oh my God I love it. I’m not great at it, but I hope to get better.

Lol, I heard about the glitch but never tried it. I recently put the game back in because of new Yukon dlc coming up soon and was gonna do the glitch at the tunnel to get more money and experience but now it’s gone, oh well I don’t mind the being patient because that is what this game needs when waiting for the wild life to show themselves. I looked at Yukon trailer and seen a few demos and that map looks so amazing, can’t wait for it

I remember shooting this moose with 10+ .243, 6+ magnum rounds, and a lot of shotgun shells. It wouldn’t go down and kept on circling me like a shark until it bled out a few minutes later ;-;

(12:39) One of the recent DLCs has a rangefinder bowsight that makes ranged shots way easier. I got a 110 meter shot on a lioness at a watering hole yesterday, forgot to switch from 420 to 600 gr broadheads though.

i just got this game because i purchased my first gun lol and im starting to like guns, idk if the game glitches or something but when i want to track an animal it shows me their footprints and name of the animal but it doesn't tell me which direction it went and its really hard to know that, at first it did pointed which direction but out of the nowhere it just stopped giving me the direction the animal went, help how do i fix that? my setting for tracking are on

Great video and very informative. The only issue I had was ya lost me on when you spoke towards the end @ 20:00 . You mentioned Calls and selecting a hashmark/ping and would give you info... I don't know what your referencing when you mention this hashmark/ping.

Are missions a necessary component for unlocks or can i just ignore them? So far it looks like i can ignore them but i havent been back to the outpost to check equipment yet. I have ablht 3k in cash so im wondering if im wasting time by doing my own hunts or if its okay?

you dont have to do them at all if you dont want too. you do earn exp and cash doing them but Alphonse i mostly just hunt. haven't completed any of them lol

Hello JaxyBeard. Nice tips and video. And you sounds like a fun and awesome dude. Kind of new to the game (played 3 times I think) I bought a tons of the free ammo for the .243. A bit later some better bullets instead of the free ones. Just curious. How do I change bullet type, so I go from the free to the new better bullet type in the rifle? Regards Krusty in Denmark.

Heya Krusty! When you are in the equipment locker goto storage. Move the ammo over to your bag. Then exit the equipment locker and go into your inventory. Make sure to equip the rifle and the goto ammo. Move the ammo you would like to use (in this case polymer tips) to the gun. Hope that helps!!

@@JaxyBeard Thanks a lot mate. A bit clunky system maybe. But guess maybe they are trying to mimic real life movements and scenarios so it's not a ton of different ammo you carry, and an assigned key to change ammo. But you leave unnecessary stuff at home. And also do the movement with pointer instead of simply one keystroke.

Ah, I get it. Zeroing is compensating so the scope and where the rifle hits with cross at the set distance to where the scope is looking.

It is a random chance you will co.e across one. They are out there its more just a matter of finding them. When you spot an animal feeding or resting these are called need zones. The more need zones you can get on your map the more spawns. The more spawns the better your chance at finding mythicals and diamonds 😁

If you have a general sense of hunting and common sense the game is quite easy and enjoyable. Never gone hunting in my life, but i do love to draw and already knew the anatomy of most animals which correlates hand in hand with the game tbh. I’ve played 35 hours with my one friend in 3 days 😂😭 its a little sad

I'm vegan and I still love this game. mostly because no animals are actualy harmed, but it helps me nurture the inner primal hunter that I could never be in realife, for ethical reasons. Same reason I dont randomly kill cops in real life despite many hours playing GTA. :)

So how does leveling and unlocking work?

I’m at a level 17 and still don’t know what’s going on, maybe sticking to one map and completing it might be what I need to do, I’m shooting moose with the starting rifle so I’m LOST, lol

You at least need to .270 one of them is free once you level up a bit and still don’t shoot moose, on super close shots on bears and deer only

Spam the calls it works everytime but make sure your hidden well because I got surrounded by Farrow deer and there happened to be 2 gold but no diamonds and definitely stay downwind I ended up killing at least 30 animals in about 20 min the bow is really good to use too for groups if they run off just call them back

Whats the name of the song around 4 minutes? LOVE UR VIDS

I wish the devs would put in the codex under noise metre, how much noise you’re generating from each bar of white/red noise. From what I’ve heard from one guy, is that the white bars are: 1-10m; 2-20m; 3-30m. And then the red bars are: 1-50m; 2-100m; 3-150m. I cannot find anything from the actual devs tho that states this to be true. I do know tho that even with animals within 30m or 20m, the 2 white bars won’t spook them.
