I enjoyed this video. It's cool to hear what's popular and lucrative in your area. You should be proud of yourself for your growth, experience, KZread channel, business acumen, etc. If I had one one thousandth of your motivation, I would be a happy man. I wish you all the best in the coming year and beyond! But, I'm confident you can succeed without my wishes. Good on you Mate!

Hi nick happy new year 🥳 I’d like to thank you for the great content you’ve been pumping out, it’s got me through some dark times buddy it really has . I think you’ve worked out the perfect ratio for KZread and balance it very well . In my opinion people want to see honest channels like yours, that do not gloss over things and show every aspect of the hobby . It’s helped me no end so I think it’s probably helped a lot of your viewers in the same way . I hope that in 2022 your channel grows even more and you reach more and more hobbyists . Thank you 👍👍👍👍

Love your videos and I love your honesty. I'm a bit bummed about the angelfish not working out, they're my favorites, but learning about the realities of breeding them is why I watch your videos. Looking forward to seeing what you do in 2022!

Another quality video. Unlike other KZreadrs, you keep it real and openly share the truth of fish keeping and breeding with your audience. I greatly appreciate that. Happy New Year! I wish you nothing but continued success in 2022!

Great information. Thanks. I had the same issue with Angelfish. People want them but at a very low price where it doesn't makes sense to breed them. I bred my Angelfish with the parents with the fry/juveniles until growout and when I tried to sell, people wanted them for a lower price then what pet shops sell the artificially raised Angelfish for. Anyway I kept a lot of them and I still have them years later. Healthy and happy.

I enjoy your videos!! So interesting to know what is popular in your area. I was surprised that guppies were not on the list. Bettas are one of my favorites. I have 20+ and each one has its own unique personality plus, food preferences. I have been studying them a lot. The separated boys can see each other through their glass and recognize each other. Friendships have formed between them, separated, of course. At night the paper dividers go between them for 'sleep-time'. They like the smaller guppy-type pellets rather than the larger pellets and sometimes, a few frozen bloodworms. Just got a Bristle-nose baby Pleco recently for the guppy tank. He and the guppies ALL love thawed frozen green peas. Just pull the skin off and break the inside-pea into the tank. Very good for their digestion. Snails love the peas too. Thanks for another great video!!! USA

my false julii corys and salt and pepper corys started breeding last month. the false julii's were less but there's a few babies in the tank. the salt and peppers put dozens of eggs out, I had to get them out of the tank from snails and the betta that kept eating them. I've got about two dozen growing out. not planning on becoming a seller, but just fun to watch it and maybe give them to friends

This was really insightful, thank you for sharing! I'm curious, how were you able to make good business connections with shops? If you haven't already, I think that would be a really good video if you've got the time. Just an explanation of how your business actually got off the ground, making those connections, etc. Thanks again for such a great video! Keep up the fantastic work.

Hi Nick, your channel has a lot of helpful interesting information. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I've been following up on your breeding projects but I'm having trouble following through / concentrating with the vlog style videos. For example, I'm very interested in breeding corydoras but there's just plenty topics in one video since it's a vlog it's hard to understand as a beginner. Just a request for more videos like this, more simple and easy to understand with just one topic.

I used to commercially breed angelfish. They were pretty easy to move but TBH I had too many different varieties. If I were to do it over again, I would NOT breed the fancy high-dollar varieties, because they are harder to move. Pet shops were moving cheap angelfish in volume, and I should have kept my focus there.

A species that is in demand that needs to be bred locally is the dwarf gourami. The fish is mass produced in farms and are riddled with health problems (mainly the dwarf gourami iridovirus). If some local breeders can get their hands on disease free stock and supply a local source I’m sure it would be successful.

  • @teagancombest6049

Honestly that's a species that I think the hobby is better making a rare thing than how common they are now. They're terrible community fish but their small size makes you think that's where they belong and it's how stores market them. Dwarf gouramis are a horrible beginner fish.

cant believe guppies and endlers not on this list! will you try some more live bearers in 2022? super easy and small think fancy guppies and probably rather endlers will do great in your room. Did you try any of them this year?

Hey, I have a 1500 litre outdoor pond, I have around 300+ guppies in their now, I am going to sell them in a month or two and I will add more expensive guppies and I will also add some fire red cherry Shrimp. But, I add about 150 grams of salt and 150 grams of zeolite in the water because I am not being able to get dechlorinator now, so I am wondering if the salt or zeolite will be a problem for Shrimp. Please let me know. Thank you.

Wow.. 10-15 each for those cool black plecos? I paid $12 for a regular grey rubber lip here in California.. and albino 2 inch bristle nose was $18. From what I read about 40-45% of all pleco babies in the US fish trade die within a couple weeks of leaving the farms.. I don't know why it's a thing but supposedly they are pretty hard to raise until they get older. Unfortunately mine died within a week thanks to nitrite/nitrate saturation.. my father is not good at keeping up on water changes, I did it myself today so we don't lose our adult Buenos Aires tetras or young Congo Tetras.. don't care too much if we lose the neons but I like the big tetras.

Love your work. I’m a hobbyist in UK and have been selling shrimp for a year now, the demand is crazy. I’ve started breeding fish and doubling up shrimp tanks with fry grow out, doing this the Praecox fry seem to thrive due to the infusoria and other microorganisms. Practicing spawning bronze corys I already own and plan on picking up new species at auctions.
