As a soap fan, it was obvious who was pregnant when the test was found. It couldn't be Phoebe because why would she be surprised that she found her own test. But you are right that the writing of the comedy & the camera work was excellent. I don't mind knowing what's going to happen, if the writing's good.

​ @Alan James Rachel and Ross were NOT a thing until end of season 2. Ross wanted Rachel, she was with Paolo then she realises she wants Ross and he was with Julie at the season 1 finale. Then almost halfway season 2 Ross broke up with Julie and wrote the pro con list of Rachel and she didn't want to be with him and they Finally get together towards the end of season 2 until half way season 3 when Ross cheats on Rachel. So, basically, No. Seasons 1-4 were not full Roschell. Plus, they were kind of toxic as a couple. Ross was insanely jealous all the time. Were they endgame by season 10? Maybe, but I wouldn't be surprise if we find out they didn't stay together in the reunion (if they talk about this).

@Alan James From a narrative point of view , they were the driving force of the first 3 seasons but that’s pretty much it. After that each friend had a story of their own. If you think about it. The central character of the series is Rachel Green. (At least it was for the first 4 seasons). It’s her that abandons her own wedding and joins the group, she is the one that goes through the huge change, from rich and codependent to a working woman, financially independent. At least for the beginning, her actions were active and everyone else was sort of reacting around her. Would you have liked her to eventually end up with Ross ?

@Alan James from the beginning of the conversation we have both been sort of saying the same thing so I don’t even think there is a point of arguing. You are insisting on one point and keep defending it where I am giving you a more round view. I love friends. I watched it 8629364847 times. It’s always on in the background and I do agree with many if not all the points you made; I just think we are getting our wires crossed. As for Ross; there are indeed some moments that I think Ross’s character DID NOT age well. He was very possessive, jealous and that whole male nanny episode is God awful. However, Ross has some of my favourite scenes, David S. is a fantastic actor and I just love so many scenes of Ross. Pivot, Unagi; I am FINE... and all those moments he was really sad and pathetic with his Hi. 😂😂

Ross say Rachel's name instead of Emily's is a nightmare that replays sometimes in my head. I don't know if I can survive that embarrassment.

See I personally find people who are most deserving of kids will have to get adopted like I feel like Monica couldn’t have kids because she was meant to adopt the kid. Be a mom that other kids couldn’t have just like Phoebe needed. Monica has it in her to parent kids that are not her DNA like she has it in her to be a great mom despite anything so she was meant to adopt kids I think like it just fits her and she could adopt those kids and just love them like they were born from her same with Chandler like they have messy family that wasn’t good to them so having kids they picked not just DNA kids just throw at them but like kids they picked and wanted and willing to love just shows their growth with characters and just how great of a couple they really are

“I take thee Rachel” was HUGE when it came out, it was totally unexpected and it was the biggest cliffhanger of the show. It should’ve been number 1.

As far as the ranking order, as heartwarming, satisfying, and uplifting a moment it was when Rachel got off the plane to return with Ross in the series finale, it was somewhat expected and predictable. So should be ranked lower on list than #3. It just was not as surprising and unexpected as the Las Vegas episode when Ross and Rachel got married in the chapel while drunk with Chandler and Monica waiting to get married outside, the proposal episode when Chandler actually thought he might of lost Monica when he thought his surprise proposal diversion plan went wrong, or the episode when the Ross came home from China with his new girlfriend Julie when Rachel went to greet him at the airport.

The 'Ross got a girlfriend" is a shame , because of this : Ross dated Julie / left cause of Rachel Ross dated Bonnie / left cause of Rachel Ross dated Emily / left cause of Rachel Ross dated Jill / left cause of Rachel Ross dated Katie / left cause of Rachel The lesson here is probably not leave a lot of the great and amazing women because of one only women

Wow, the point where you said "Number 1- Monica Geller & Chandler Bing Getting Together", I smiled so hard... they are the perfect fit!

How to judge plot twists is how it affects the overall direction of the series, so the Top 2 on this list ranked clearly had the most significant impacts. Chandler and Monica getting together in London, blossoming into a romantic relationship, and eventually becoming a married couple added 3 to 4 years of longevity to the life of the series. It changed the dynamic of the entire group and brought maturity, development, and growth to the story-lines going forward. Chandler and Monica's relationship brought a refreshing counter balance to rival Ross and Rachel's relationship. This was genius story-line twist by the writers that was timed at just the right moment at the end of Season 4 since it setup Season 5 to be one of the best seasons during the 10-years run of the series. Other than Season 8, from Season 5 onward to the Season 10 series finale, Chandler's and Monica's relationship eventually became the heart and soul of "Friends". Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox portrayed such a natural compatibility on-screen that made this relationship work really well. Rachel announcing she was pregnant at Chandler's and Monica's wedding at the end of Season 7 springboard into Season 8 to also be one of the best seasons in the 10-years run of the series. Season 8 ended with Rachel giving birth to Emma. It brought Ross and Rachel's on-again off-again relationship back into the limelight, was the only season "Friends" won the Emmy for Best TV sitcom, and Jennifer Aniston won both an Emmy and Golden Globe for Best Actress in TV Series sitcom for her performance during Season 8. Plus, Season 8 was only year which "Friends" ended the season ranked #1 in the prime-time TV ratings. During the other 10 seasons, it had been consistently a Top 5 ranked show in the prime-time TV ratings. Other than the Joey and Rachel kissing, I concur with all the other best plot twists mentioned as honorable mentions and ranked from "Friends". Nothing from that Joey and Rachel romance storyline should be on any Top 10 best list for "Friends". It is more fitting that for Top 10 worst lists...lol. That storyline was so forced and unnecessary by the writers, to the point where it took some luster away from the Ross and Rachel relationship.

Lots of people did not hate it. By the time they kissed, Joey with Rachel made more sense than Ross and Rachel

yep, it made NO SENSE but it was a plot twist-

I'll pretend that Joey and Rachel thing did not happen. Worst decision of the writers.

it just shows that sometimes friends make mistakes and if they are true friends they move on from it and forgive each other

I kind of feel like that whole arc of Joey and Rachel getting together was written by the same people who did the last season of Game of Thrones. 🤣

I don't know if that would have worked. They tried the one with Joey and that really bombed. I think they just worked better as a group.

Yeah Joey was a hilarious character too but his own show failed. I personally think they all need each other to bounce off because they all worked so well together. Maybe if Joey had been Joey and chandler it might have worked better xxxxxx

Phoebe (being my favorite female Friend on the show) finding her mom, was EXTREMELY heartwarming to me!! Plus The One in Vegas was EXPLOSIVE!!!

In order to film the Ross and Rachel scenes at the airport in the finale the Central Perk set had to be taken down but I believe it was rebuilt

I’m loving all these videos of friends coming out!

While I've never understood or been a fan of the Joey and Rachel angle, their kissing scene introduced me to the band Interpol and I've always been grateful for that.

in shows like new girl and friends, they tried to make ross and rachel the main love, and jess and nick the main love. but the best love stories were honestly monica and chandler, and schmidt and cece

I see so many saying that about New Girl, but it seems everyone forgot that Schmidt cheated on Cece with Elizabeth.

Friends had better plot twists then any modern drama show

Chandler being ready to propose should have been Top 3. Every time I rewatch Friends, I forget that it's coming.

"Take thee, Rachel." I think that moment shocked me more than any other in Friends.

Though of course most of these picks are “iconic” tv moments, I personally never reacted as shocked or unexpectedly as when the videotape showed Rachel using the Europe story 😆. These listed were all brilliant plot twists, but the one with the videotape was GENIUS writing, and in my opinion should be somewhere on this list higher than “honorable mention” 👍🏻

12:38 this one is probably my favorite. I remember being super surprised when i watched it for the first time. LOVE IT.

Erika starring in scary movie and the first film being a spoof of scream which starred Courtney Cox is everything

I agree with most plot twists ranked and honorable mentions on the list except for #10. Joey kissing Rachel (along with being a plainly erroneous, forced, and contrived story-line romance by the writers) was not really a plot twist. That moment was building for a few episodes. The Top 2 twists are clearly and definitely the best. Chandler and Monica getting together in London at Ross's and Emily's wedding at the end of Season 4 setup the Season 5 episodes so well. Rachel announcing she is pregnant at Chandler's and Monica's wedding at the end of Season 7 setup the Season 8 episodes so well. Season 5 and Season 8 were arguably the 2 best seasons of "Friends" during the 10-year series run.

Yes!! Season 5 was great. Usually when a show is on for that long, it can lose its magic but Season 8 was such an amazing season from beginning to end!
