In that case, "Lisa The Greek" should have made the list. That's when they bond over gambling when Lisa turns out to be an expert at who wins. But when she realizes Homer's only exploiting her for the money, she tells him who she thinks is going to win the Superbowl, but adds that she might be so angry and hurt that her subconscious wants him to lose and she's choosing wrongly. Lisa chooses correctly after all and the next weekend, Homer goes hiking with her.

I really, really enjoy when he's a good father to her. I love him in the one about Jebadiah Springfield because he was supportive of her the whole time, even when everyone thought she was wrong. When Marge had a gambling problem, Homer did his best to make Lisa a costume. His breaking point was seeing her cry.

“Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington” was inspiring. It shows the dark side of politics which prompts Lisa to fight for her beliefs in the political system being fair and justice being served.

The new ones might be weirdly funny with pop culture references etc.. but you can't the beat the meaningful writing of the classics.

Erik Zarins He showed up again in a later Simpson season. I think it was during season 25 or 26. But it was kinda disappointing because he has a non-speaking role, Marge tells Lisa that their is someone here that she should see but Lisa was busy doing something that I can't remember what it was, and Marge tells him that she will tell Lisa that he stopped by. Why didn't Marge just let him wait for Lisa to show up? This annoyed me, and I'm sure Lisa was upset by this too. They don't even show if Marge actually tells Lisa who showed up at their home.

Personally I never liked them "sexualising" the children in it, 8 and 10 year olds are more interested in toys than dating boys {rhyme intended}. Apparently Yeardley Smith whom voices Lisa said her and Nelson would make a good match-why I don't know.

I watched this expecting the Bleeding Gums storyline to be the first and you did not disappoint. it was the first Simpsons episode to ever make me cry. also: "Jazzman" is one hell of a song

When Bart gave Lisa the signed yearbook.....I teared up and I don't even know why....

Lisa is such a role model She actually inspired me to become a vegetarian when I was a little girl

I was scared you were going to choose from latter seasons which we all should pretend have never existed.

Everyone brings up Bart signing happy birthday with Michael Jackson during Stark Raving Dad Bart and Lisa hugging after the hockey game during Lisa on ice Bart buying her the Bleeding Gums Murphy album during Round Springfield or Lisa saying Bart as her first work during Lisa's First Word but ill always cry at the end of Seperate Vocations when Bart takes the blame for Lisa so her life isn't screwed up after 1 mistake while he was figuring out his life he accepted he already messed up enough chances ...it was a way to reset the world without feeling forced

I love it when Lisa and her father share a moment of closeness. One of my favourite episodes is Lisa's Wedding.

Here's a fun fact for you the reason why Lisa is still a vegetarian is because of Paul McCartney Paul said he would do the episode "Lisa the Vegetarian" if Lisa remains a vegetarian for the rest of the series and that's why Lisa is still a vegetarian.

That each episode is different and it's entirely a coincidence. Just because "New" Simpsons has a stigma surrounding it doesn't mean the episodes are bad. There are some later episodes that could rival some of these.

Not that I don't believe you, but I'm not familiar with most later Simpsons episodes - I know the first 12 seasons, as well as 14 and 15, but that's about it. So what are some of the other ones? Does "She Of Little Faith" count? I never managed to finish that episode, because I got bored.

Just last season there was Halloween of Horror which was Lisa focused and a very good episode. One of the best I've seen from them in years. Later seasons are hit and miss but it really hasn't been as bad in the last 3-4 years as people make it out to be.

HCH Millwall At first, I doubted the truthfulness of your claims, and started to break down how she wasn't those things.... and then, I realized that she demonstrates all of these traits at least once in the show. You're right, she's not perfect. I think she's still my favorite too, though. At least she has a heart - a trait, in particular, that garners a great deal of my affection.

Jebediah Springfield episode one of my favourite. I like how creative writers used to be. Lisa was the main in a lot of good episodes.

I liked the episode where Lisa joins the boot camp and gets hazed. Shows her sheer grit and determination, not to mention strength both physically and mentally. When Bart bravely cheers her on, knowing it'll get his ass kicked by the other cadets, it's just SO special and wonderful. One of my top favorite episodes.

Great picks. I also love the episode (I think it's actually my favourite episode ever) where Lisa finds a fake skeleton and everyone thinks it's an angel. Something about that one.

I'm glad "Lisa's Substitute" made the Top 10. It was such an emotional and heartbreaking episode. 9:43

@Damian Prock: She is drunk from the beer water river at the Duff Garden's which Bart dared her to drink and after the fight, Patti told them both off and made Lisa drink "the water" which turned out to be Alcohol and made her hallucinate[ because being only 8 it would of effected her more than an adult]. I personally liked the Beer Goggles as you got to see the world from Barney's point of view for a change and why he tries to "come on" to Patti when he sees her as she looks attractive in those glasses and he gets mace-sprayed in the eye every time by either of the two sisters [ I laugh when he burps mid writhing in pain from the pepper spray, also saying "Is that a new kind of mace? really painful"].

jane1975 Alcohol does not make you hallucinate. The effects of “beer goggles” isn’t that you hallucinate and see people as more attractive but that you are so intoxicated that you lose your inhibitions and give in to sleeping with ugly people.

Bart doesn't make sense, either. In later seasons, he seemed to have it, but when the episode came out, Bart seemed more of the brilliant but lazy variety. Outside of schoolwork, he seemed to be incredibly bright, just not interested in doing well in class and not studying.

And people say the Simpsons has no heart! **Grabs Kleenex**

Through most of these I can't get over how pure Homer's love for Lisa is. Even after insulting his intelligence he knew she was scared of losing her identity in Lisa The Simpson so he rounded up every relative he could just to make her feel secure again. In Lisa the Iconoclast he's the only person who stands by her because he trusts her so much. He puts her in a beauty pageant because he thinks she's beautiful and he wants her to believe it too. Hell even "veggie back ride" is him just showing after their fight that he respects her newfound vegetarianism. When she's about to marry Hugh he tells her she's the best thing his name ever got attached to and she made him a better man. Before losing his intelligence knowing he'll never be able to articulate it in her language the same way he makes sure Lisa knows how special she is to him. Homer's just the best dad and as much as I enjoy Family Guy for cheap laughs, it'll never compare to the heart that The Simpsons had. That's the kind of stuff that inspires the sort of dad I want to be one day.

Hannah Shribman-Brown The general idea is that Homer wants Bart to succeed but Homer gets angry quickly so he isn’t great with his son. There are some Homer-Barg bonding episodes though, like in Saturdays of Thunder where he finds out he isn’t a good dad and tries to help Nart with his soap box racer to connect with him.

But she's not talking about the movie. She dated Nelson for awhile - in fact, he was her first kiss - but they broke up at the end of the episode because he lied to her about not ruining Skinner's house and the cops being after him. That's the plot of "Lisa's Date With Density". And on that point, has Colin even shown up after the movie? Lisa's dated more than one guy over the course of the show. What about "Dude, Where's My Ranch" when she dated Luke Stetson (the Jonathan Taylor Thomas character) at the Lazy I Ranch? Sure, she dated Colin, too, but the way you're saying it makes it sound like you think she never dated anyone until the movie.

My favorite Lisa story line is shown in this clip 14:44 from that episode I learned you don't always have to smile, and you aren't bad for doing so. Sometimes you just feel sad and it's ok.

There have been videos where a spoiler alert hasn't been used but I'm glad you used one for almost 2 decade old Simpson episodes (:

Summer of 4 Ft. 2 will forever be my favourite Simpsons episode. As a loner myself, I found it very relatable​.

I need to watch more of this show. It's been a while. Also let me just say Homer may not be perfect but we can all tell how much he loves his kids. No one can say he doesn't try, especially when it comes to Lisa.

There was a certain charm about Lisa back in the day but now they completely ruined her character it's so disappointing

I hate her. Not because she is a nerd, but because she pushes her views onto other, acts all high and mighty, preaches to others, and can’t stand when anybody is better than her.

My favorite Lisa scene is the one where Homer comes to her room after she called him a Baboon and we get a tender sweet moment along with some heart string pulling music..and I love Lisa's Snowball II poem *ahem* I had a cat named Snowball... She died! She died! Mom said she was sleeping... She lied! She lied! Why oh why is my cat dead? Couldn’t that Chrysler hit me instead?

Actually the poem was about Snowball 1.

The episode they showed at the very end about Lisa smiling is one of my favourites. It's such an amazing message.

1. Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington (3x02) Hands down one of if not the best Lisa episode in the show.

Ive seen every single one of these scenes (especially that last one from season 1 episode 6). When I was a baby, I would be eating my dinner and if the simpsons was on the tv behind me, I would try to look over the back of my high chair just to try and watch it. No wonder im so obsessed now. Ive been watching it almost all my life.

Wow. Surprised "Lisa's Rival" isn't in the Top Ten. A masterful episode.

He used to be one of my favorites when I started watching

The Simpsons was such an intelligent, meaningful, beautiful show. Now it's just noise, not ever a fraction of what it used to be, hell it's not even the same show.

She called me a pc thug! Ohh, I've been called greasy thug too and it never stops hurting.

Cliffto Nothing wrong with being a sensitive feminist, however, modern Lisa was a tumblr feminist before 2017 made it tumblr feminism a widespread thing

I feel modern Lisa is better described as a petty self righteous jerk with a fragile ego. The show had always hinted at Lisa being arrogant and insecure, but more modern episodes have far frequently tried to make us a sympathize with her when all she goes through is her pride being wounded. Hell in one episode we were supposed to sympathize with over Bart despite his only crime being a better musician than her, and he had to deal with losing the use of an arm.

What about when the family went to Washington and Lisa found out about all the political corruption? You know, for that debate competition? Excellent storyline.

I love lisa. i watched the simpsons growing up and i always related to her because i was quiet, focused on school. i still am and i will always love her

the bleeding gums murphy episode is so powerful, its easy to forget how amazing some of the old simpsons episodes were. lisa lionhart and mr bergstrom were also great episodes

Moaning Lisa probably has to be my favorite, Tbh.

@@M_D93 And modern Homer neglects his family, is stupid to the point of harming others and wrecking the town. Bart's bad behavior also causes the family to get into trouble constantly. And Marge can be a bit self righteous and naggy too (Bart After Dark as an example) So yeah. All of them are flawed and getting worse. I do admit Lisa can frustrate many, but she isn't really any worse than the others

Lisa's birthday episode with Michael Jackson

Amazing how many fo Lisa's biggest moments have Bart and/or Homer attached. Say what you will about her, or them being "less cranially enabled", but the guys in her family love the hell outta that little yellow chick.

My favorite Lisa moment is from Season 3 in the episode of Lisa's Birthday. It's the episode that guest stars Micheal Jackson. It was my favorite growing up so it holds a special place in my heart. Also, they just mentioned it in a recent episode and that was really cool, brought me back.

I always thought Lisa Simpsons catch phrase was her Saxaphone 🎷🎶😀
