I know the guy in the Marine uniform. He's a former Marine and former Sheriff's officer. He runs a self defense and fitness gym in Beaverton, Oregon. He's a super cool dude. He was legitimately a Marine. He was just wearing his old uniform for the video. That's why he's unshaven. He's not in anymore and not under Marine grooming standards.

Plastic handles cant be fixed in a survival situation and varnishes give wood handles a short life, linseed oil your wooden handles and choose one with good grain orientation. I could go on for ages about all the things that are terrible about these axes from a survival perspective.

I own the last one. The Schrade with the saw inside the handle. It sounded like a good idea in theory, before I bought it. The “safety snap” pops open with just about every swing, so it’s about useless. The slit in the handle pinches my fingers when I swing. The vibration from the saw blade in the handle is terrible as well. The first Schrade in the video is great though. Very comfortable handle, swings great, and splits with ease.

@@saber1able Bushcraft channel, or some pleb reposting content? That's because you're a fkn peasant. No fkn way does HB compare to any of the axes I listed. You know damn fuckin well that the increased cost is due to fit in finish and quality of craftsmanship. HB is bottom of the barrel of the Swedes in this category, this coming from the owner of a Gold HB. What exactly does HB excell at with their bit profile over Gransfors, Weatherlings, or even a Basque? If you like I can post a pic on FB comparing my Anaby to my Scandinavian Forest and my Wetterlings Large Hunter. There's not comparison ma'am.

Thomas Jackson I would never badmouth my Hults Bruks axes. They’re absolutely fine tools.....but you’re correct that they just aren’t the same quality as my Gransfors or wetterlings. I do not have a Basque. The Hults Bruks can be brought up to the others quality but does not come that way straight out of the box. Although, personally, I prefer an older American style such as a Plumb or an old Collins. In my opinion those (with a custom handle) can’t be beaten by anything made today.

@@caseycasey621 I love my HB as well. They're beyond fine, just not the best as what was eluded to earlier. HB was my first Swede, and I own at least two dozen. Basque is king and at a ridiculously cheap price. Once you research the brand you'll discover nothing else compares.
