I will have to go a little while back...there were few guitar Gods in Bangladesh. They brought the Rock/Metal onto Bangladeshi soil in the early days. Unfortunately, they don't live in Bangladesh at the moment and we just don't remember them or forgot about them. I would like to mention their names here with respect: (Imran Hussain, Mainul Islam - RockStrata), (Mashuk Rahman, Joy Islam - In Dhaka), (Fuad Ibne Rabbi, Syed Karim - Aces), (Russell Ali - Warfaze). Only Fuad Ibne Rabbi is still in Bangladesh and not into band music scene at present time. ------------------------- The list you made, all the guitar players are great no doubt. But when you say, OF ALL TIME, it really doesn't justify the other players who lived in Bangladesh and made the rock/metal music platform a solid ground where the guitar players from your list is hanging around NOW. From 3 to 10 in the list, these guitar players are the 3rd generation of guitar players in Bangladesh. We also must not forget Noyon Munshi (late), Happy Akhond (late), Rocket, Niloy Das (late), Selim Hyder, Labu Rahman, Hamin Ahmed, James (Nagor Baul), Ditio Syed Haque (Sweet Venom), Iqbal Asif Jewel, Balam, Pancham (Ark) as greatest guitar players of Bangladesh. -----No disrespect to your list, you made your list and you have the right to do so. At the same time, we should be fair to the other known/respected guitar players as well. (great concept by the way)

Lame. Where is Russel Ali, Labu Rahman, Iqbal Asif? U do not know a shit about them? Russel ali composed many early works of warfaze. He also played for american bands. worked in hollywood. Labu rahman is another great guitarist. But yes, I prefer Kamal than Ab..

Brother you missed James. As a musician for the last 12 years and having played in 4 bands as bassist with numerous musicians I must say James is one of the most unique and most versatile guitarist in the country with a solid yet distinguished tone. No matter who gets omitted from the list he should be in top 3. Also you missed Jewel vai of Miles and X-Factor.

What should I say? Echoing mhassan666, this is at best a list of 3rd generation guitarists of Bangladesh excepting Bachhu Bhai and Komol (Warfaze). Again all of them are rock/ metal guitarist excepting Emon Chowdhury. No Blues guitarists, no Jazz/ Jazz Rock guitarists. Nobody knows about Happy (Akhand) Bhai, Larry Barnabwe (who played the jazzy solo of Abar Elo Shondha), No mention of the versatile Ishtiaque Hossain bhai (1st lead guitarist of Uccharon of Azam Khan) along with Nilu Bhai, Rocket Mondol, Omar Khaled Rumi and Lastly, the very special & MOST Talented guitarist of Bangladesh (Late) Noyon Munshi (Uccharon in early 80's) who died in a car accident in Canada while going for band audition. You know nothing about the rock history of Bangladesh. You know nothing about Rubaiyat (Rubu) one of the best Blues & Classical guitarists in BD and One & Only Harold (Nur Ur ) Rashid Chowdhury of the band Ajob. Harold bhai, a 60 plus guy used to be an artist studying Fine Arts in UK and playing in a rock band named No Quarter back in the mid 70's. He is the Only guy in BD who has his own style of playing Blues with Sitar tone ! And what a versatile player he is ! Should I mention about Fazle Rabb of Windy Side of Care back in the 1967? Windy side won contract from EMI records after winning a band contest. Come on do some home work when you say "All time great" and you have included a rhythm guitarist Lincoln De Costa in the list while no mention of Imran, Mainul, Fuad Rubbi, James and Tokon Bhai (Hamin Ahmed). I don't want to say anything about Niloy da. He was never a good live act. Extremely nervous player. Even if I don't like Bappa Mazumder, I would say he is a better "Blues" guitarist than Ayub Bacchu (IMO). Again, my opinion only and from my personal experience over the last 30 years or so.

It's all about your preference.....

Ask Kamal about Tushar of In Dhaka. Without Tushar, Russel and Mainul it is incomplete list. These guitarists hade positions in the US and have collaborations with world famous musicians. Know these names before making any list.
