This is my list which is ranked on how much I like then and not how socially inept they are: 1. Hikigaya Hachiman (SNAFU) 2. Okabe Rintarou (Steins;Gate) 3. Tatsuhiro Satou (NHK) 4. Sora (NGNL) 5. Tomoko Kuroki (Watamote) 6. L (Death Note) No 2 characters from the same show. Also, obviously, this are only the anime I watched. If somebody wants to recommend me some other socially-awkward characters I will gladly check them out.

I know there is a lot of characters with social troubles and I don't know all of those people in this list, but here is some anime character who I think deserve to be in this list: - L from Death note, who was actually on this list, but deserved higher place. He has like one friend and even that friend is more like father to him. - Annie Lionhart from AoT. Like L, she really doesn't get along with anyone. She got trust issues and is so quiet. Plus she is total psycho. - Mikasa Ackerman from AoT. She is aggressive and quiet too. Sure she got little bit friends, but some of them she have got from her ''brother'', Eren Jager. She doesn't think that much others when she speaks and she is little bit emotional. She don't feel sympathy for others than her little precious Eren. - Levi Ackerman from AoT. We don't even need to talk about him being aggressive, cleaning obsessed, bossy etc. - Tsukamoto Tenma from School rumble. She is so social awkward as human can be. So childish. Bad at everything, if you don't count her archery skills. She always says something wrong to people and get those WTF looks on her. - Rize Kamishiro and Shuu Tsukiyama form Tokyo ghoul. They care only about them selves. They are aggressive. They lie. - Gaara from Naruto. I'm talking about in the beginning of the series. He didn't control himself and he has this quiet side and this kill-everyone side. He had only two friends, who were more like brother and sister to him. Now in the end of the serie he is ok. These are only my opinion of social troubled people in anime and sure I have a lot of them more in my mind. I'm sorry if you didn't understand my sentences cause I'm not that good in english. That's cause I'm from Finland.

I know one character who has social anxiety, and I can relate to it. That character is Tsubomi Hanasaki, a 14 year old girl who was constantly separated from her parents due to their jobs. Because of this, Tsubomi was staying with her grandmother for most of her childhood. However, she never made any friends due to being extremely shy and introverted. She was so shy that she kept telling her grandmother that the flowers were here only friends. She may have come out of her shell over the course of Heartcatch Pretty Cure, but I completely understand how it feels.

There's Morino Ryoushi in Okamisan and her Seven Companions as he has a phobia called Scopophobia where he gets extremely nervous when others stare at him, although this does not effect his reliability when he's in situations where his friends need him, although his fear did lead to him riding a bike blindfolded so as not to notice others' stares or he'd have a nervous breakdown

Every character from Love, Chunibyo and other delusions should be on this list. The show revolves around the concept of people unable to shed their childhood weirdness. My vote goes more towards Tomoko for the most Socially Awkward one here. She tries to fit in, but fails completely at it every time.

Looking back at this, I would've put Pippen from Berserk on the list, because he's a mostly silent member of the Band of the Hawk.

I'm surprised that Sunako from The Wallflower didn't make the list. I mean, the title of the anime ALONE tells you she's an awkward recluse by nature. XD

Yaaaaay, Watamote made this list. Considering how obscure that show is, I'm glad it got a chance to get attention.

Tsukimi and her friends from Princess Jellyfish also belong on this list. they clearly show signs of tic-symptoms, have restricted interests and completely freeze when dealing with the outside world.

I think Sosuke Sagara from Fullmetal Panic should be on the list. He's a military-raised teenager who causes tons of trouble at school based on misunderstandings, and even his military comrades are typically overwhelmed with how socially awkward and emotionally thick he is

Katsuki Yuuri is one of them. He is.very awkward around people. He's thrive to surpass his idol Victor. He basically spent all his time from ballet class and skating and he can be very cold in competition only to end up in tears. His nerves usually gets the best of him.
