Look for Kalona milk, now at Whole Foods, $9.69/gallon whole milk, pasteurized to only 145 degrees and is not homogenized. I make my yogurt from it.

Kalona SuperNatural™ is based in Kalona, Iowa, a small farming community in the heartland of America. We work with small, sustainable family farms to provide delicious, certified organic whole milk from pasture-grazed cows. The bottled milk products offered by Kalona SuperNatural™ contain fresh, locally-sourced milk from Iowa Amish and Mennonite farms. Six days a week, milk from these local farms arrives at our creamery and is gently processed so we can deliver your milk in the most natural state possible. We choose to use a lower-temp pasteurization process. We also do not homogenize our milk-leaving a delicious cream top for you to enjoy. 😋

Kombucha= the longer the fermentation, the more sugar is eaten. I wish the labels would provide the brew-time. Keep in mind, at 30 days, it is more potent in alcohol so if you’re a lightweight, you may want to stick to a one- two week brew-time (fermenting). I make a gallon at a time using the standard one cup of sugar. In a processing plant, maybe mathematically it breaks down to the same ratio?

Can you do a video on real fruit vs fake fruit. Fruit that's being injected with erythrosine pink dye and calcium carbide in and on watermelon. Calcium carbide is a ripening agent which is on our fruits to ripen them quicker. Watermelon should take 3 months to ripen when using calcium carbide it takes 1.5 months to ripen. I just got a watermelon yesterday that had both of these. Does all watermelon that has a white powder residue mean it's calcium carbide? I know you can do the float method on mangoes to know that they have this residue.

Because he follows the trend and uses those buzzwords to attract people. Look at how he describes products as "non-GMO, paleo, keto" when describing jerky. A product that everyone knows is just dried meat, but he'll describe it as paleo and keto because that's what his followers listen to. At the end of the day, he's another grifter who promotes products who either paid him to do so or he has a financial stake in like Simply Nature.

Natural flavors is "GRAS - generally regarded as safe", which means they are self-regulated by companies that make them. There is no third party or public audit process, so anything can be in there and you would never know it. Also commonly used to hide certain flavoring agents from main label. A good example is malto dextrin, a sugar like chemical which is pretty much in 90% of all natural flavors which is used as a processing agent to extract and create modified flavor molecules. So no. These are far from safe.

Processing agents, things that are used in making other things that are not directly related in quality enhancement, are not required to be labeled. Things that are small enough dose per single serving size are also not required to be labeled. Things that can be grouped indy other things are also not required to be labeled. Unless the thing in question is a common allergen. For example, dextrose is a sugar like substance. But it's not included in carbs or sugar, because it's "primary" use is a drying agent for lab made flavorings, despite having a secondary purpose of adding sweetness. So a drink can just label natural flavors, and not have to label dextrose. And by making each serving size really really small, they can add other sweeteners and still put in 0 in carbs, when it's actually 0.5 grams of sugar per serving. This is just one of many, there are tons of other examples of how food companies get away with labeling laws.

Grocery stores cater to the demographics around them….always. Want a better experience? Go to grocers in nicer neighborhoods. For instance, grocery stores in Ft Meyers Beach in Florida (YEARS AGO) had very few decent types of fresh produce when I visited years ago. The grocer told me that the demographic AT THAT TIME was senior citizens, who didn’t like a lot of fresh produce. So…take a look at the demographics where your store is located.
