Sorry, but when Brando says: "Look at how they messed with my boy" while looking at Sonny, that was intense man.

The one thing Pacino does that many actors cannot do, is to make the role believable, and carry the spirit of any role on film without being seen as someone else he played as in an earlier movie. Like, if you see Keanu Reeves in The Devil's Advocate, odds are, you mostly see him as Neo from the Matrix. Al Pacino on the other hand, when you see him in The Devil's Advocate, you don't see him as Michael Corleone, or Tony Montana. You see him as John Milton. He is SO talented that he can make that work. He is so into every role that he is in, that he isn't Al Pacino on screen. He is not this bland actor that you saw on Dog Day and continue to see him as Sonny on another film. You see him as a different person on each film he is in. It takes so much skill to do this. It will be the saddest day when he passes. He is my all time favorite actor and will forever be a legend.

Pacino's performance in the Godfather 2 is unmatched by any male or female actor. The intensity was so prevalent in so many scenes. Raw emotion. Just a spellbinding performance.

My friend met Pacino on a street corner-Upper West side in 1989 or 1990. He asked her to go have coffee, and she said no !! She had a social organizational meeting she could have skipped. What a fool. Think of how many women would die to spend some time w/Pacino. he probably was not used to getting turned down. He must be humble because she was just another person on the street.

It was amazing to see him, Pesci and De Niro together in a movie so late in their careers, Pesci even coming out of retirement to do it. Looking past everything that was said about the CGI and them being old and slow and whatnot, I think it was an awesome swan song for all them.

If young Al Pacino and Young Johnny Depp were in a movie together, I wouldn't be able to handle all that.. 🔥🔥 lord. ❤️

Al Pacino is such a good actor, a true legend! My favorite role of his is Michael Corleone from The Godfather trilogy, but I also loved him in Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico, Scent of a Woman, and much more. And to think the studio initially didn't want him to play Michael when they were casting Godfather-he proved them all wrong!

thomaserato It is at that. But his intimidation factor IMO was at his highest when he would be at a low tone, then even suddenly rise. Like in the final scene in 'The Godfather' with Kay. "Don't ever ask me about my business Kay." "Michael is it true?" "ENOUGH!" slams his hand on the table.

There are so many great characters he portrayed. One of my favorite movies with him unfortunately didn't make it in this list: The merchant of Venice (film adaption of Shakespeare's play). Seeing Al Pacino as Shylock is an awesome moment I will never ever forget in my entire life

TabooTabby he was hilarious as the devil. What about fellow Italiano Robert Di Nero, who also played the horned, evil deity in "Angel Heart"? Nicholson played satan in "The Witches of Eastwick". Viggo Mortensen played beelzebub in "The Prophecy". LOL

The ending from The Godfather III, when his daughter dies... look it up... One of the best scenes of all time in movie history. Al, you’re a legend, I love you.

I would’ve included his performance in “Scarecrow” at least as an honorable mention. A movie that was released in 1973, the same year as Serpico. Underrated but brilliant film.

Totally agree with you. For me on Pacino, more Scarecrow, less Scarface. That scene near the end gets me more every time I see it. You also see a very different Pacino, a naive goofball, whose heart is so very much in the right place that Gene Hackman’s character is endeared enough by him to stick with him and offer him a role in his upcoming business.

.....I wouldn't say there's incest in Scarface....he doesn't wana have sex with his sister, he's just extremely over-protective of her. I personally have seen Scarface over 100 times and I've never picked up the "incest" aspect of it. I could be wrong though. That's just my opinion. And number one is also Scarface in my opinion. Just because he seemingly BECAME a cuban to play that part.

True. I can't easily change to an accent like I was born with it. He's just a good actor regardless and I can't choose.

I agree.... as i also have watched scarface too many times in my life to say that tony is incest with his sister.... scarface is a great american classic, don't get me wrong though, The godfather is also a masterpiece, but id say scarface should have also been 1st on the list... as well as "Dog day afternoon"

yeah, it's not incest on his behalf..in the film..he was just extremely over protective of her and didn't want her to go the road he did. The only innocence in his life. Her at the end when she made the gesture... and he said.."what are you talking about?"...proves it wasn't in his mind ever. She was high and caught up. When he killed Manolo at the door..he was FURIOUS. She was ruined in his eyes.

He never did have Sex with her, but maybe because she is the only woman who has never hurt him (till he kilsl her Husband and former friend), he has strong feelings for her including sexual feelings.

You'd seriously put Scarface over The Godfather & Heat? That's a yikes. You should rewatch all those films then rank them again. Scarface is way too cheesey & hammy & as an overall film I wouldn't even put it in Pacino's top 5 tbh.

"And justice for all" deserves to be on the list at the very least and honorable mention

Not even a mention of "Dunkaccino"? Criminal.

Scarecrow, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, Cruising, Panic in Needle Park, are some of his lesser known but amazingly complex performances. Frankly much better than some of his later electrifying but over the top performances.

I will never forget the final scene Godfather part III Michael crying on the stairs. That classical scene

He was also good in the HBO mini-series "Angels In America."

"Scarecrow" deserved an honorable mention.Such a sweet and underrated movie

Trevor Onyango When we do something like Top 10 Chemical Brothers Songs or Top 10 Scenes With Villains on the Roof of the Car we always get the odd trolls saying "its official WM has run out of ideas" even though those are top rated suggestions that are upvoted by users... We always counter that i) we like to keep the Mojoholics guessing as to what our next top 10 is, ii) we like variety... and iii) we will NEVER run out of ideas, because each idea spawns 10 ideas.... and the WatchMojo.com/suggest tool ensures a steady supply of ideas. You forgot Pacino's 1971 film, "Tha Panic in Needle Park." When studio heads saw his performance in this film, it won him the role in The God Father. Pacino has a passion and intensity like no other. My favorite.

Pacino's performances are so legendary it's really hard to choose between them, but I will admit that Godfather Part II is one of my favorite moves of all time.

R U FUCKING KIDDING ME How is Al Pacino's Tony montana not the best thing he has ever done. i mean you could walk up to a guy you know and say who's Al Pacino and the guy would say oh he's the guy who played Tony Fucking Montana. Scarface is his best Performance cause everybody know's this movie than anything else , Did i mention the toy's posters Remake coming and the Fucking video game But most of All the most famous movie Quote ever made SAY HELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND.
