Between Maynard’s singin and lyrics and the guitar and bass it’s easy to miss just how amazing Danny Carey is on drums. He is literally one of the best living drummers today. His technical skill alongside his creativity is unmatched and it always perfectly matches the atmosphere the song produces. Really focus in on it when you re listen to any tool songs. It’s mind blowing what he can do.

I notice at the concerts people try to “headbang” to it, and it’s damn near impossible. It is always like they went out of their way to land the beat one step or two away from where you feel like it should be. So you just end up kinda swaying to it more than bouncing. I love a lot of their stuff but this is my favorite. I definitely like more of their heavier songs like this and Hooker With a Penis, Sober, Aneima, and stuff like that.

This is really cool for me. I watch a lot of these and the path to TooL is usually different. You hit up Rage Against the Machine pretty hard and probably didn't know of any connection between them. So great that in watching your videos, you do end up coming around in an albeit less direct path. Enjoy this ride. Of trivial note: Adam Jones and Tom Morello were high school friends. Two of the more iconic guitar players of the era from the same town?!? Oh yeah and the singer of this band, Maynard James Keenan was the scream in the middle section of Rage's Know Your Enemy. "I got no patience now. So sick of complacence now....."

The most technically sound band of all time. The intricacies of their dueling bass/rythm is mesmerizing. and that voice....that voice. Drummer is out of this world if you watch one of his solos. My mom compares Tool with Boston, because they both take 5-6 yeras to put out an album but its perfect when delivered.

That’s the way to react to a song like this. You forget to stop it. You let it play. You get caught up in it. And when it’s over, you don’t know how to put what happened into words. Watching the experience of listening is better than any analysis that could have been fumbled through. Well done.
