@@caseymiller3540 yes, but now they’ve listened again and decided they liked Tool. So they could revisit Pneuma and watch the drum cam video, since they said they wanted to watch Danny play. Hopefully as they listen to more Tool and also more grunge, they will be able to discern the different styles and different singers, which are, of course, nothing alike. 😏

Tool has one of the biggest armies out there on KZread, so be warned. As others point out, they are very progressive and lean towards the metal sound, with a slower, hard to nod-your-head-to sound. They specialize in poly rhythms and complexity due to having one of the best drummers in existence, Danny Carey. Singer Maynard James is legendary for his unique style and deep, brilliant lyrics. Good luck.

If there is any drummer out there dead or alive as out of this world good as Danny is, none of them have composed shit with anywhere near as ridiculously high degree of dificulty masterpieces as the Octopus, where as that's Danny on every single f'ing track. I'd love to hear each song but only with Danny's grooves by the way. Each song is like one long-ass drum solo that could stand on its own. In short. There have been and are amazing drummers out there and then there is Danny. He's a drummer and percussionist merged into one. That's the reason I call Michael Jordan the Danny Carey of basketball. 😅❤

They’re considered an L.A. band but not one member is from California. Guitarist Adam Jones is from Illinois, drummer (octopus) Danny Carey is from Kansas, bassist extraordinaire Justin Chancellor is from England, and Maynard James Keenan was born in Ohio and had his teens and grew up in Michigan. These dudes are the truth! It gets better from here if you wish to proceed. I’ve been rolling with these cats for 27 years now and they keep slowly making music and it does not get old. You’re welcome for the biography 😎✌️

MTV was different when a Tool video hit in the 90s.

This 2006 record is my favorite Tool album, and this song is my favorite Tool song. I'm late to the Tool party (2012 or 13 or so) and I'm nearly 62 years old now, but this song just has everything in it that makes Tool so farking good. The ployrhythms, the talent behind each part, the lyrics being on point -- the song rock so hard it just picks you up, takes you along and shakes the crap outta you, then just drops you, breathless, back where you were, wondering what the hell hit you. It's just fucking great.

One thing about TOOL.. If they can't do it masterfully.. They don't do it.. You will never hear a bad piece of music from them..EVER!

This is one of my favorite Tool songs. Great lyrics and incredible music played by top notch musicians. Danny Carey is unbelievable, one of the greatest. Not only can he shred, but the feel & groove he throws down is what I think makes him truly great.

Also, that bass player is unreal, man. Wow, these guys are amazing. Good choice for this morning. Fellas, I appreciate it.

Adam Jones, lead guitar player...the only guitar player for TOOL. He plays a Gibson Les Paul Silverburst guitar. The metal flake on the Silverburst gives it a unique sound. Most guitarist won't play it because of that one distinct fact. Adam Jones, on the other hand, loves this unique tone and brother, can he ever ! You've got to listen to 42 and 6 by TOOL! It's an absolute must! Then check out "Pneuma" LIVE , the video that features Dany Carey's drumkit with cameras all around him. It's phenomenal!!

They do so many polyrhythms. At times even doing fibonacci like sequences. Their time signatures are crazy and so difficult to keep up with, but they are nasty

You must see Danny Carey live. He will blow your mind on the drums.

Amazing tune 100% another drummer to check would be Ginger Baker doing TOAD from Cream. Yesterday would have been his 84th birthday. As the professor said (Neil Peart) every drummer learned from Ginger weather they were aware if it or not! Great reaction guys.

Two of rocks greatest drummers in one day!!! Neil (Peart) and now Danny (Carey)! Tool is in a class of their own. Maynard James Keenan is a renaissance man, intellect and song writer/vocalist of the highest order, Adam Jones plays guitar with other-worldly textures, and tones, and Justin's bass riffs can be funky but in hard, driving rhythms. 🔥🔥
