I live in WA. In 92' I was 12 years old and a buddy who moved to CA mailed me a bootleg tape of the Opiate EP before Undertow came out. I've been in since then.

I love the raw uncooked feel to each song on Opiate.

A lot of the live songs are out of necessity they had no money. This largely got them their deal

From Australia. The Grudge changed it all for me. Picked up the Lateralus LP and that track blew me away.

Heard Ænema on the radio in like 2000, found this album at the public library I don't think they knew what was on it.

Maynard said that there is a difference between hate and anger, anger is a constructive emotion, hatred is not it's destructive and instead of acting out in violence they scream their heads off instead.

To your question: "What Tool song changed your life the most?". 'Pushit' off of the Salival limited edition album. The song is also on 'Aenima'. The first two albums are rockin', but 'Aenima' is otherworldly.

Tool is such a journey. The early anger, the evolution, and the new perspective. The most impactful for me personally are 46&2 and H.

You should check out a song by one of Maynard's other bands called Puscifer and the song is "The Remedy", I think you'll enjoy it.

This song is my go to when I need to rage out..top volume..drumming on my steering wheel til I feel lile I broke a finger.

Sober made me think or change most this is my fav off opiate record

Bought this album when I was 12 on 1992, it was the best investment I ever made. Then bought undertow which at the time only had a barcode for the cover and you had to send away for the actual album insert when it first came out. Good choice

So raw that Gordon Ramsay would yell about it in the kitchen.

First one that actually made me listen for real was stinkfist
