Yes Hawthorne Heights are great if you're an emo in 2010.

Beautiful song. Maybe my favorite, but my Tool favorite can change from day to day. Check out "Eulogy" at some point. Can't really miss regardless of what you choose though imo.

The bands you've mentioned here are great, but I'm definitely gonna reinforce Karnivool. They're too talented and don't get enough recognition lol

Probably my favorite tool song, means a lot to me. Have you been recommended A Perfect Circle much? Try the package, another really dark and angry one by Maynard and his other band.

Love this song such an eerie feel with those pick scrapes and dirty guitar tone.

Their song Prison Sex is supposedly an account of Maynard's experience with child abuse, it's an amazing song but very dark.

Your reactions are spot fucking on. Love it!

Very emotionally powerful. Tool, man...WTF can you say? One of the great bands of our time. And Maynard is a freakin' genius.

Tool face is one of my favourite things to see online

Gotta check out "Hooker with a Penis" by Tool. Not a lot of lyrical subtlety. I think you'll appreciate it.

What I love about Hooker with a Penis is its just a story followed by a response, with no deeper apparent meaning till you look at it from a different direction and then it speaks VOLUMES to the hypocritical nature of humans and those that love to call out people/bands/companies for "selling out" all the while having no fucking clue what it takes to make it in business, whether its music or not.

There is more to this song. it takes a while to get it. Think about it like it’s a record playing in your head, like automatic Responses.

Tool - Ænima is a great choice if you haven't heard it.

I vibe so much to this one.

According to Maynard this about deciding between the angel or devil on your shoulder and who to listen to. Ultimately he listens to the angel for his son's sake.

I got another one for you to react to, last time it was Sikth, now they aren't that well known, so you know.. views. This one however should help you out with that and its different from what you've been reacting to so far: NIGHTWISH - Ghost Love Score (OFFICIAL LIVE). Make sure you watch this live version from Wacken 2013.. it is really something else.

Very good assessment. I think the only part I disagree with was the 'days away' part. It's not really in continuity with the song, but I feel it's about his unborn child, even though the verse before was him looking into his child's eyes.

Oh yeah, I think that interpretation also works.

This is my favorite track off of Ænima, so I ain't even mad, but man... Undertow (the album) gets no love on the internet. Fun fact: optimism aside, the working title for this track was Half Empty.

I don't know... uninterested? fans seem to be in Undertow reactions. I suspect it has something to do with when someone came onboard with Tool, but I could just be talking out my ass. I completely disagree, with this theory, always believed it's about heroin, H! Not Devo, that snake is the needle that storm is what takes over after taking it, even when you are off of heroin, "days away I still feel you, changing me , just my opinion
