What a treat, Ruben... My favorite Tool song. The drum fill (if you can call it that) from 5:47 on still gives me chills all these years later. I've seen them thrice; they never disappoint. Go if you can. Very cool lyric vid you found, btw. Today's hipster kids that can't see Tool's greatness leave me bereft of hope for the future. They've obviously never seen them live... As always, much love Ruben. Keep 'em coming.

I saw them live a year and a half ago. I kept my eyes on Dany Carey as he played, and he played 24-year-old songs as if he just got out of the studio recording them. It was Tool. Just as you should expect, but still come away with your brain blown apart.

I thought it was great until they mention disharmony of Chromosomes and the weird metaphysical sexist/transphobic nature of that pseudo knowledge. Saying people with genetic variations are some how imperfect forms of humans? The Fuck is that ?? Carl Jung has a lot of awesome ideas about the shadow. Drunvalo Melchizedek on the other hand is full blown new age garbage.

To refer to Jung as 'pseudo' psychology is disingenuous. 'The Shadow' is one of the most widely documented / discussed / debated theories in all of psychology. However, if you are referring to the proclivity of people to claim 'expertise' on a theory they learned about in a 'song reaction video', then yes, I'd have to agree. That said, the concept of human evolution being linked to the addition of chromosomal pairings as a result of confronting 'The Shadow' is very interesting.... Very much so 'over my head' (especially on the genetics end) but still.... Very thought provoking. I'd have to assume that's the point, right?

I finally saw TOOL in rochester, new york a few months ago. I teared up a little bit. The lyrics in every song just cut right through me. I have been listening for over 20 years now and my level of comprehension grows every time i listen. I pick up on something new or i understamd the lyrics with a new meaning. I cant listen to Maynard without getting goosebumps and it's been like that since day one. From his deep lyrics to the fluidity and brilliance of their albums. They are my "greatest of all time" Thanks for sharing your reaction!

It's a shame you didn't get into Tool in your younger days Ruben, when they were still producing music 😜. But seriously I think you and I are of a similar age and here in the States Tool was almost like the counterculture emblem of our generation, like Pink Floyd in the 70s. Maybes it's just because I was a pothead and poetry nerd but I always appreciated their work. It helped me through some rough times in my teens and early 20s. But to sum up, Tool was "THE" band for American stoners in the late 90s/ early 00s. Cheers my friend ! 🍻🤘🏻🖖🏼

I appreciate how you don't interrupt/stop the song with anecdotes, but rather take it in so "we" can see your thought process on your face as the art reveals itself. This song is visceral, beautiful, wildly artistic, and elegantly intelligent.
