DB pre-DBZ is the best part of the series. It is imaginative and silly throughout, just a simple joy for both children and adults who're kids at heart.

Good reaction! This is a fun show. It starts a bit slow, but it grows and amps up as the show goes on. I'm sure you'll enjoy it :) As for the tail, the original idea was that this was a modern interpretation of the "monkey king" fable. Of course, as time goes on, there might be other explanations. You'll just have to wait and see ;)

Goku has a tail because hes a baby boy from another planet hes not a human hes a "Sayian" a race of proud and vicious warriors from the planet Vegita, a tail gives a Sayian access to a werewolf like power to transform at the full moon 🌝

Honestly Beard if you follow through Dragonball and then on to Dragonball z you won't find a more fulfilling show..the journey of Goku is something epic and the Frieza & Cell sags in DBZ are absolutely ICONIC 👌 ❤

Dragonball great it def gets better as seasons go. If you ilkemad maxx and kung-fu def check out fist of the North star

Ooh, great series! It starts off a little slow and is a bit dated at times, but it's totally worth. I think you'll dig it. Just some various triva/background info (no spoilers, obviously): - Almost every character's name in Dragon Ball is a joke or a pun (often a food), some more obvious than others. Toriyama started his career with a very successful Gag Comic called Dr. Slump (he was already a multi-millionaire *before* DB started), and he always stuck to those roots. - Goku's name is the Japanese name for Wukong, the Monkey King in Journey to the West, which heavily inspired DB. - Bulma's name is a pun on the word "Bloomers," which is why Goku laughs at her. - Emperor Pilaf is named after the rice dish. and the writing on his outfit says "Fried Rice."

Many of the most popular anime shows such a Naruto and One piece their creators credit Akira Toriyama as the inspiration for them.

I'm sorry but I must disagree yes dragonball is epic but Z is on a whole different level...the Bruce falconer dub is so suspenseful and immersive..and I'm sorry but the transformations in Z are unbelieveable

I dunno...Gohans Transformation against Cell for instance or Goku going Super Sayian for the first time....I get exactly what you guys mean the whole SS2, SS3 and the latest incarnation SSGSS...etc I know its a bit much...but there are some iconic scenes in Z the 2 I mentioned, hell the frieza fight is probably the longest battle after the sayains on earth saga... but Vegita's 6 minute Final Flash still to this day makes my a shiver run down my spine idk everyone's different and have they're favorites I'm possibly biased because Z was the first DB series I ever watched back on Cartoon Network with the ocean dub and the Bruce Faulkner score.. lol still Anime, Dubbed, Subbed or whatever its still one of the greatest shows ever made hands down.. and don't get me started on the "Abridged" one on YT thats one of the funniest things I've watched in years 😂
