Ima living testament to that. My bro got a 25 to Life for a double homicide when he turned 16. He was my idol but that made me go a different path even though I was surrounded by notorious Sacramento gangs. Now Im living the good life he mentioned and many people I knew are living broke and destitute.

Gangster has always held multiple definitions for me. As well as rank. Mixed up with thuggin and all else. Lots of definitions come to mind. But, broken down, Gangster really shouldn't be used unless a person has a gang. "Gang-ster". Sometimes it has to be broken down for real. Like Short said, "just listen to the word"

I am white and I listened to Too Short on cassette tape. I still had to fight to get to where I am. I was poor and never had much. I got in trouble from time to time and it was not easy for me and remember I am white. The cops still got me if I was into some bad shit. I joined the military and got away from the place I grew up to get away from all the BS. Life is what you make of it. Selling drugs and running around with a gat is not the way to live.
