Now this dude made mention of Michael Jerdain (OOOG Vanness Boyz) this dude is truly a legend. Michael, Butchy, Big Swig and those dudes are real legends of my era. These dudes got got respect whether you was Crip or Brim (wasn't no BLOOD Sets then). This is when Manual Arts H.S. was a BRIM school. They used to have a place off of 42nd and Vermont where all the Head Hanchos (BRIMS and CRIPS) would meet up and discuss politics. If you was Kool with them, more if they liked you they would let you swim at VANNESS PARK for free. Vaudrey and his twin brother (both Original VANNESS BOYZ) would be the lifeguards (taught me how to swim) so there was nothing but love. That gave you the money after swimming to walk across Slauson and get a Jumbo Jack at Jack n Box afterward. Those was the good ol days. #FREEBIGUNOANDMYMANBIGMOE.....BIP to my homie K-STONE...You might be gone but your are never forgotten...BROTHAZ4LIFE!!!!!

If you want to go and figure out how gang banging started you have to go way back further than the 1970’s and 1960’s. I mean gangs for sure escalated to a ridiculously high amount of violence in the late 70’s and early 80’s for sure. But that’s because all those kids grew up seeing there role models commit crimes like it was nothing so it seemed normal to that generation. Every generation just follows in the footsteps of what their big homies did. Sometimes they even try to top them. It’s kind of silly to think that gangs started in LA in the 1970”s though. Maybe the name crips and bloods started then but gangs are way older than the 20th century.
