The F50s are in hand for both Boot Wizard and Lockhart Boot Blog and it's time for first impressions. Are they too simple? Or, is that going to be the absolute making of this new F50 generation and 2024 is going to be the year of the F50 ... and the Predator.
We are also as always talking big releases, the Nike Euros pack with the pink mad brilliance as well as the new Puma Ultra 5 Carbon which frankly looks insane as well as Andrew having a small breakdown about missing out on the Mizuno Morelia SS.
But, we have another big topic of the week to discuss and that is Limited Editions, are there too many and are they good enough, we also lay out a plan for what we think makes the best limited editions.

James the Ultra 5 Carbon is definitely balls to wall. Such an awesome solid soleplate. By the way I will be referring to them as the Carbon5 from now on.

Been out in them today. That's some crazy stuff!
Still waiting for my F50s from Unisport to ship. Sadly couldn’t get the laced version but nonetheless still very excited to get them and wear them.

Hopefully you get them soon. Unisport aren't the fastest to get things shipped out for sure.
Great podcast boys! Will be interested to get your full opinions after some more play time the F50s 🙌. Ps. You guys are 💯 the fatigue on limited edition releases is getting out of hand. Decision Paralysis essentially

Yeah absolutely, I can't buy this just in case this other thing comes out. So I buy nothing.
Great podcast, I don't buy limited editions because they are to expensive and to difficult to get them.

I haven’t seen any reviews of Imotana in the past 1.5 years… we need reviews as the company is now “established” and their technology and concept is amazing.

Great podcast as usual! Would love to see both of you speaking about the financial side of collecting boots, because you both go after almost every release each episode nowadays but you also seem to sell stuff at the same time ... 😅 Appreciate it!

Was super excited to finally try the new f50s and got a pair, but got sent the wrong size. Will have to wait for the general release but I'm very positive about them. I'm personally glad it's not a super paper thin upper.

I totally forgot to mention how stupid it is that the new Wave Cup preorder was the 24th but they don't ship until September!

That's pretty dumb, don't love that, same with the Nike Euros pack, I feel like they went early with that because of the F50s and now there's a massive wait.

Okay I needed a few hours to gather myself on your opinion on the recent tiempo 30th anniversary special edition pack and the Nike mercurial 20th pack. So on the face of it, I agree with you that both the tiempo and mercurial packs, the actual limited editions were the ones to get. But I disagree with your take about the Emerald pack and the silver “volt” and hyper pink mercurials. Those packs were great! They were celebrations packs that were for the general consumer and not for the boot nerd. If you weren’t in the know, and missed the drop at least you can join in on the celebration of both of these iconic boots and buy the takedowns/turf options. Now you can totally poke holes in my argument by using myself as an example as I haven’t bought any of those other models for Mercurial and Tiempo’s, but regardless I do enjoy these “for everyone” celebrations packs. Better than Adidas, where if you want to be part of the celebration of the Pred 30, well tough shit, get in line to buy from a reseller for a $1000!

I totally agree with the concept of the for everyone packs, but if they're going to do that ... Make them better 🤯. I think those silver Mercs look like cheap knock offs of the expensive limited one!
My question made it! Bigger adlers yall! lol 2 questions, I get increasing “hype” and forced scarcity but why does everyone make the boots everyone wants so limited? Is it odd/interesting that so many of the best boots are remakes/rereleases to like 10/15 years ago?? So little of the “innovation” has resulted in better boots? Love the podcast

I bought a pair of Mizuno Morelia Neo IV Pro AS turf boots from Pro:Direct and they were a full size too big, and they charged me $14.50 to return the boots. I don't think I'll buy from them again unless I have been able to try the shoes on in store somewhere first.

I do hate return charges. I like to buy direct from brands where possible, usually free returns. Unfortunately not really an option with Mizuno.
