The thing is part 2 in not a completely new story, its a continuation but with new characters so new players might still get confused by some of the events that will happen.

I'm curious to try it, but Genshin and Star Rail already consume my free time. I don't think I can do another live service game like this.

Play it casually. I play hi3 like once every 4 months for a few hours. The main story doesnt require you to have strong characters, almost all stages give you a free trial character so no need to farm much

I ditched Star rail for Honkai Impact. Star rail was getting old and didn’t like it after a while

Only been here since second anniversary, but I’ve really felt like a part of the game. There is so much content in HI3, and I’m a little scared of what things may get removed for space efficiency. We have like what 37 chapters? Two smaller open worlds, and both APHO chapters, as well as the significantly larger last half dozen or so chapters which have open world type maps. That’s just the more demanding stuff. I love this game, and am glad to see that it won’t end here, but honestly, I’ll really miss the old UI and menu music. Something so comforting about it.

I've ALWAYS wanted to start playing HI3 from the moment I found out about it. But the language barrier hindered me (I don't know English that well). Because of this, I put it on hold. So as soon as I found out about the release of part 2, I was very happy, because there was hope for the release of my language and, accordingly, the opportunity to play this masterpiece game!

If u start Part 2 though you’ll miss out on a lot. Kiana is a better MC than the traveler will ever be.

That's great but it doesn't solve the biggest problem the app takes up way too much space and i like the old UI better maybe it's Stockholm but I find a new UI way more difficult to work with.

Honkai Impact 3rd is never really getting old. Even as we are moving up to a new story, new characters and everything, I still remember the CGs, trailers of part 1 of the game. The 35 chapters of a thrilling adventure of Kiana with her friends to fight against her enemies and Honkai are still there, they won't go away. Do you guys still remember the "Final Lesson" ? Have you got there yet? They have been with us since when we first became the Captain of Hyperion and we have finally accomplised the mission of protecting humanity. Honestly what really makes HI3rd stand out among the other games is we can re-live those memories again. We can go back to Chapter 1 from which Kiana was introduced then finish at Chapter 35 to see Kiana completing the quest of "Fight for all that's beautiful of the world" I've been playing since November and I have 13 chapters left before reaching the Finale of Part 1. All I will say is I'm more excited for that than Part 2. It's the joy to be able to see how the journey closes for those who have brought us here to the game from start to finish. It's never too late to turn back and look how wonderful it has been, and never too late to start a new one. I still remember a comment on the HI3's first ever trailer saying: "For captains who have reached the Finality, I welcome you back to the Origin. And for captains who have just started on the Origin, let the power and determination guide you to the Finality"

genshin really pulled down HI3 to their level sadly. what I like about the old HI3 is how your character grows, every new battlesuit is tied on their journey. then mihoyo found out in the release of genshin, they can pump up releasing new characters left and right. but their story are hit or miss for me unlike honkai. there's a reason why the honkai main cast are the most sought after even just them or their likeness is shown in hoyo's other games. I miss kiana.

i remember playing hi3 ages ago and liked it quite a bit, but i never did the main story so i only got up to chapter 8 and then left the game bc the spaceship shit was too hard for me and haven't played since 💀 i remember maining Veliona or whatever her name is. the evil Seele one

As a honkai veteran, If your a new player of honkai impact 3rd, good luck grinding a lot of materials and remember to play part 1 and 1.5 and the other half of the story. Good luck reaching captain level 88! P.S. I’m a honkai veteran who been playing honkai impact 3rd over 6 years

For the new ones, they are currently doing such a brutal powercreep to everything from part 1 that it has no influence at all not having anything prior

One of the few gacha's where I don't feel guilt in paying. It repays me in fun, saddness and cute girls. It is truly a breed of its own. P.S.: praise be to the fourth impact. Praise be to the jump button to be integrated.

I was interested in 3rd and will for sure look into it again when they makeover it, looks massively improved, it looked too outdated before and with how far along it was... those are a big turn turn off, i see others upset over it changing but its a good thing to keep up with the times, genshin and HSR mogs it in graphics at the moment

I haven't played HI3 yet (will plan to once I finish Penacony on HSR) hopefully the new UI would be easier to navigate cuz looking at the old one....damn how do y'all navigate thru all that lmao

honestly if u really want to play this game the game awards plenty trial characters just play the story mode then go from there to see how much u like the game if u do then u can progress however u want whether its endgame pvp or just pull and build waifus

I tried to play this yearsss ago & got too overwhelmed by the UI that I just quit & went back to other games 😅 maybe I will try again sometime soon. Idk.

I had started playing it again last month and im at least chapter 20 now (or the basically the cutscene where fu hoa came back ). Im really excited for chap 2 to come out.

I just wish I could play it on my Playstation lol. I don't have a PC and the hardest part for me is playing it on my phone. 😅

I'm still confused about the sudden decision to make Part 2 be set in between 1.5 and APHO. Everything in Part 1.5 was pointing to the possibility that they're going to go straight to APHO after 1.5. I mean, they revealed the Sky People's origins, who's commanding them, and even how Void Archive ended up being an ally of them... Anyways, I am curious what Part 2 will be about though. Since part 1 is about Honkai and APHO is about sky people, we're practically clueless as to what Part 2 will be about and how it's going to tie into APHO.

i started play hsr 2023 and because of the story f honkai is relevant so i started play hi3 too, recently. btw i play it bc of its part 1 storyline and to understand the anime, too, not the part 2 (except for senadina and the harbinger:)

I tried to return after 1 year off and it's very difficult, i mean impossible for f2p to catch up especially if you're quite competitive as I've been before.

Can feel your pain (i quit around HoS release and recently came back as an f2p). Things gotten more interesting with more new valks but every new valk must have their signature wep (makes it super hard to grind). If you want to remain super competitive, most people recommend starting a new account (i dont plan on doing that and instead just gonna enjoy this game while i still can)

As someone who had followed the game since day 1, part 2 looks awfully boring, lifeless and tasteless. How did we get from designs like flame chasers and herrschers to those lifeless characters ??? UI is fine i guess, a more modernized UI is more friendly to newcomers, but the whole design element of the characters, doesn't feel like HI3 at all. And trying to make self insert MC for honkai also doesn't work cuz the style of story telling is just not the same as genshin and hsr.

Sold, time to return to it once I am done farming Jades for Star Rail's Firefly.

I'm coming back to HI3 now that the ui is better this weekend to speed run the story

About the optimization I had no clue about that it’been locked

Can confirm. I started HI3 about 2 weeks ago and have been having a ball going threw the story. I caught up in Part 2, and have been going threw all of the Part 1 story in the meantime.

I only haven’t been playing for the fact I don’t have enough space so I just have Hi3 offloaded on my phone. I will continue to play once I get a pc.

ive started 3 times bc i couldn't deal with the ui. I've recently forced myself through (bc i want to know the story), and have been playing for a month. I'm still confused on almost the entire ui etc. as a serial jumper and someone who likes to explore the entire map, it was also hard coming over from genshin and honkai star rail to hi3, but I'm happy I'm here and will keep pushing through

Part 2 looks horrific Hoyo really have no clue what they are doing anymore not only does the UI look horrific it looks like Happiness and Rainbows, character design looks terrible, hell we got palette swap Vil V and Nilou and Asta fusion, whilst the model looking tacky and overall bad, if someone told me this was a knock off I would believe them because it's a downgrade not an upgrade, also who really cares about mars, it's a stupid concept.

I definitely share the same sentiment, the UI itself is somewhat fine to me, albeit it being somewhat bland and characterless. But the characters, they are the main issue for me, they look so lifeless and boring, they don't even look like part of HI3 (honestly they look like some rejected concepts for hsr). Color swapped eula, slightly tweaked sushang, red haired elysia with yoyo. But the worst offender of all ? A self insert MC, they are trying to replace Kiana with a cardboard cutout MC. I don't mind new char replacing Kiana, but it needs to be good, not a self insert MC for sure.

I will miss Kiana a lot since she is always positive and happy while the new MC is just someone who doesn't show much emotion at all the characters are plain and boring but I do like the UI but the characters are to plane

😢it is interesting how opinions differ. I find the team UI the most convulsing thing ever. Things are smaller, screen lags, I now need two taps instead of one to change the stigma of a team character.

You ask me this 2yrs ago, I'd be game. But after 3yrs of gacha, especially hoyo games. I think im looking to return to not gacha games.break out of the hoyo cog.

For me the issue was the game grew from 10gigs to almost 40 in a short time I couldn’t keep the game on my phone anymore, hopefully this means I can return… it’s been a few years…

i was the starter youre talking about. it was horrible playing with the slowest, weakest character in the game on the same level over and over again so i could try getting through the 34 chapters that force you to get through challenges that were pretty much impossible with the character they gave you just so the characters would match the story. yes im talking about bronya. they made it way too easy to hate her when shes supposed to be one of the main characters

I love bronya but GOD alot of her units sucked.... so did kiana's and several others throughout the story that forced you to use them. Including himeko.... after chapter 7 they didn't let you use any of your units and you were forced to have a specific one in your teams at all times starting at chapter 6... I really hope it's not the same issue...

I never got to finish playing Honkai cause I lost my acc so I just got lazy and never got to the finale on my new acc 😭

I wanted to get into Impact but yeah, controls and UI on PC didn’t feel good. So I’ll give part 2 a real attempt since I won’t feel like I’m so far behind. 😅

Just started HI3 on a week ago. And yes, its not too late to start this game. The story starts in chapter 1 so you don't miss out all the lore. Lots of characters to pull and not to mention the free S-rank valkyries. Glad I pulled Helia and Durandal, also picked HoT.

i feel like i'd only get invested if it releases on console ps4/5

As someone who finished part 1, I couldn’t find a reason to play part two because there was basically no where i could have fun just playing older units now, the story just wasn’t as interesting as part one, and as someone who started playing at thus spoke apokalypse, i almost always reach 95+ pity, only once did i ever get a s rank on early pity. Not to mention rolling for weapons and stigs.

oh no I better go speed thru the story, I only played a few chapters of the part1

The main reason I'm interested in the game is for the characters, but its size was too big and as a gacha game would prolly take too long to experience lol. It's not too exciting to know there's a new one with diff characters & story, especially as they look more like star rail characters or somethin from this vid

@@nevolence Hoyo eng va are beyond horrific I don't hate eng dub I hate BAD eng dub as they can't play their characters and kill the emotions and overall scene, if they hired actual good eng va I would see it differently but Hoyo would just reuse va's they already use instead of using va's that fit the character and can actually voice act, it's simple as, and I don't want Mona/Asta voice acting Kiana or anyone like that 🙄

Captain here. No, it's too late to play honkai impact 3rd for new comers because there's a lot of story you need to catch up. I love the characters but the story is just boring. Especially when there's a long dialogue that is so sciency to read and to understand. I love the characters but I stopped playing the story mode after otto's finale and played the last arc (trio vs kevin on the moon) but skipped most sidequests, dialogues, side stories. I only play the ER and Abyss whenever I open the app.

BUT I NO NO WANNA START AT PART 2 Im just gonna try and speed run up to chapter 40
