It's disgusting to me that people think they have the right to choose that someone else must live. This has to be changed. We hear a lot about the "right to life" in abortion debates. But then when we force a paralyzed man into a life of misery, we take away his right. It's not a right unless you have two options to exercise that right. Otherwise, it's not a right. It's an obligation.

This topic is one of the most human topics there is. I am in politics and this is one of the most valuable issues there is. You own your body. Why can't we chose how to go?

His case failed, if anyone helped him die, they would be guilty of murder. Immediately after the case failed, he followed through and attempted to starve himself to death. After a couple days he got "pneumonia" and died after a suspiciously short time. The police declined to investigate. I really hope his loved ones managed to make it faster.

he is a true hero for me, internet is full of "inspirational"pro life stories of people who mentally recover from simliar injuries and find meaning in their suffering , and still want to live againts all odds , those people are heroes too and i respect them just as much, but not all recover, its beyond cruel to deem people who cant recover as "weak" , "selfish" or even "ungrateful for rejecting the gift of life".this is not something many want to speak about, but there are many more faces of human suffering than we cant fathom, its only allowed to speak of the evil of denying life to those who want to live, yes it is cruel, but denying death to those who truly want to die isnt better and him being actively bullied by "pro life" activists is just beyond anything . im glad he is free now even if it had to happen in such a drastic way. be happy wherever you are now, because this life of pain cant be the end of it all even if i dont believe in existence of an omnipotent god.

This is so sad, I’ve mixed feelings about assisted suicide mainly because some people can take advantage of this (you know serial killer doctor and nurses.) but if someone feels that their life is not worth living and they want to die so bad they should allow it to happen if they’re so extremely ill, they should just give Tony money to go to a country that legalise assisted suicide so he could die with dignity just like he wanted it to be.

He was in a real disaster and i can't blame him... but if he knew Jesus Christ he would be the happiest person ever in the life. Why? simply because the sickness of our flesh is not the real calamity, but sadness, depression and sorrow of our soul would lead us to be in a real disaster. So if you see him in this video, you see a deep broken man who he needs his flesh to do activities of the life to be as a result satisfied and to finally entertain his hart. We note here that the satisfaction and the hart mean metaphorically the happiness of spirit. As a result, because he lost his flesh so he can't be able to cheer his soul, so he decided to die!! But the truth is the cheerfulness and mellowness didn't come by the flesh desires such as for example to play a kind of sport, yes i'm happy to play soccer but after that i recognize that i want more and play more every time and each week to fulfill my desires but i found that i still need more, so i'm not really happy, instead misery is increasing in my life as i need more and more. the same thing in my sexual life, i start by kissing my GF then i used to do that for a long time, so i'm not happy anymore, thus i wanna have a sexual relationship with her. after along time i realized that i'm not happy so i want to change to other girls fining my happiness. Then i knew that this circle will never end, so i asked Jesus Christ to give me the real happiness the real life the real truth, he answered me in a simple way... "God is Love". Then my life changed my life became better and actually i discovered the true love and happiness with a long journey with Jesus the Lord. That's why i'm sad for that person because he didn't knew Jesus, so he didn't find happiness. So he killed himself and killed his spirit too. You will never knew or aware or understand my words or what i'm trying to say unless you meet Jesus.

I feel very sorry for him but suicide is not the answer. Suicide is always selfish and destructive (i.e. being self-destruction). The true solution to being in Tony's situation is to make his life as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. Also I think part of the problem is that modern life puts top value on being rich/beautiful/successful/powerful but these are not the purpose of life. The purpose of life is to be a good person, to share yourself, and to grow in love of God. After this short and painful life, we can then reach our final destination of heaven. This is the correct perspective, and those who lack this perspective seek a way out when suffering comes along. We need to stay strong. Don't give up. Fight the good fight - finish the race - keep the faith.
