I don’t blame Tony, Jeremiah seems to annoyingly steal spotlights for no actual benefit and Tony must have just been fed up with his presence. So when someone he disliked yet let off the hook publicly, that hungover Tony didn’t hesitate to go in on him. It’s like someone you aren’t friends with decides to use an inside joke at the expense of you as the punchline, nobody would find that funny. Tony isn’t really a sensitive guy it seems. He just won’t take BS from someone he deems inferior and in result this happened. Just my perspective tho

I've been watching Kill Tony, since they were in the belly room of the Comedy Store. The show has continuously evolved and even "matured" in some ways. Jeremiah has definitely had his moments and there were times where he was really helping carry the show. But after a few years of him being on it became apparent he doesn't really grow much as a comedian (or seemingly even as a person). He's a bit of a one trick pony and his characters are all too gimmicky and too similar. Gives off too much "pick me" theatre kid energy. He wasn't able to show he had the chops to keep up with the show as it grew and actually started to hold it back as Tony got more and more annoyed by the personality clash. I can see why JW would be butthurt by Tony suddenly parting ways to move to Austin, but honestly it seems it's his own lack of self-awareness and hubris that was at fault for the rift. I have tried to watch JW podcast other solo projects of his, but it's all too cringe. Even when Adam Ray includes him in the Dr.Phil stuff it kind of brings the quality down imo.

The band was always something that was kind of hit or miss. When they were on, and not disrupting the show, it was seriously hilarious. When they were off, it was just cringey and annoying. I love that era of the show with the old band, there were so many hilarious and legendary moments. I encourage anyone who hasn't seen them, to go back and listen to them with an open mind, because it really was special. That being said; I don't think the show could have grown to where it is now, with the old band, but I will never forget all the amazing moments with them. RIP.

Tony is absolutely correct about the silliness. In fact, I believe Tony held back for once in his life and refrained from expressing what many of us agree with - that the band was annoying. Let's focus on the silliness for now, even if that's what the audience wanted. Although I haven't watched every episode, the awkward silence that followed spoke volumes. In my opinion, Jeremiah attempted to steal the spotlight with his immature antics. While Tony engaged in conversations with audience members or guests, Jeremiah would rudely interrupt like a petulant child seeking attention. Instead of addressing his issues with Tony directly, he resorted to childish microaggressions and idiotic behavior. I may not know what was happening behind the scenes, but many of us, including myself, perceived it that way. The uncomfortable silence from the audience only added to the awkwardness, making them likely feel uneasy being there live. Tony's intention for the show was to provide exposure for up-and-coming comedians through the bucket draw. Naturally, he, or anyone else, would be upset if the show's purpose was undermined. Some may think Tony can't take a joke, but that's not the case. He's clearly frustrated because the band's and Jeremiah's childish behavior was overshadowing others. In my view, the AI sketch reminded me of the frustration and lack of respect Jeremiah displayed when he appeared on the show. It was evident that he couldn't conceal his true feelings, indicating that the underlying problem is a lingering grudge stemming from Jeremiah's behavior.

They thought that they should take the credit for Tony’s brand, and start to take over. Tony wasn’t having it. And in addition, Jeremiah is clearly a bitter, competitive little beta. Those kinds of guys are an absolute nightmare to work with. Fired for a reason.

Also, the ratio of jokes that they told that got even moderate laughter to the jokes that got silence or near silence was probably 3-7 at best.

they’re friends. Idk why people think there’s drama. Literally at roast battle (which I was there for) these two were laughing so damn hard at eachother. It’s crazy the narrative you guys build on the internet but live in person when I saw them, Jeremiah had Tony in tears laughing… believe what you want, they’re friends. Jeremiah is a touring comedian with his own pod, that’s why they don’t work together as much.

  • @Livvvid

I've been watching kill tony for almost a decade (in episodes 100ish). Look Jeremiah has always had a strange tension with tony. And I point this at Jeremiah. Idk if it's jealousy or what. But he forces himself to not laugh at anything tony says, im not saying pander to tony but seriously. Go look at literally any Kill tony when Tony makes the entire place laugh and you can see Jeremiah visibly uncomfortable and trying his best not to laugh. Meanwhile he will laugh hard at his own jokes or if tony is going back and forth with someone and they roast tony, Jeremiah will start going absolutely crazy even when the joke is light. Then Jeremiah interrupted constantly and was funny maybe 30% of the time. Joel was funny like 90% of the time which is why tony let him do it and why he is beloved. Jeremiah was trying to hijack the show and be the center of attention. Constantly playing his shitty sax and interrupting, even arguing with tony about his interruptions.

Getting rid of Jeremiah was one of the best things to happen to Killtony. I've been watching the episodes in reverse and I've watched about 20-30 with the old band while some jokes might be funny about 90% of what Jeremiah does is annoying AF and completely unneeded ruined the dynamic of the show. Not only did Jeremiahs disruptive cringey outbursts take time away the bucket pulls 5 mins of fame it took time away from the guests. The way Killtony is now is 1000% better with the new band
