that video game defined alot of generations that played it back in the days! that game made our music taste what it is today and alot more things it shaped us
“Growing older all the time, looking older all the time, feeling younger in my mind” almost brought tears to my mind. What great memories one game and one song can bring

@@BenoitAdam2 no offense but that's just boomer talk. I work with alot of teens and they are still just people working their ways through life. And tiktok is just another fun distraction they seem to have. And if woke means being more inclusive to more people living how they want I'm cool with that. Like how kids my age used to say that's gay all time; glad that's becoming less of thing. ✌️

I miss being 16 in 1993. No matter the decade. The good things that come along with us in those younger years take hold on us.

@@lesclaypoolonbass9431 The person you replied to either deleted his comment, or it was deleted, but hell yeah man. Remember when our parents would put live fish in their shoes to go dancing? Or when a lot of grown adults in our generation fell in love with characters from a pony cartoon, or caused property damage because we saw a Charizard on an app? It's easy to look at the current generation as the worst because we don't get how they act, what they say or we think they are dumb. It's important to remember, we were just as dumb as they were when we were their age, if in different ways. Then, their kids will make them pull out their hair too. Teens and kids these days, they deal with enough shit from the rest of the world, us putting them down because they are different isn't helping.
Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for the Skateboarding and late 90's teenage national anthem!

Tony has sang No Cigar,Police Truck, and now Superman. I would absolutely buy a compilation of Tony singing songs from the first 3 or 4 games. I'll lose my shit if he sings Cyco Vision with Suicidal next.

The reason why I've been SKATING since 1999! LEGENDS
That was so legit, the music and skateboarding went together hand in hand in that era. Mike on the bass too, dude literally had a skate punk on one album cover.
I didnt think it was possible to make this song any better!
Thanks a lot for making me a punk kid. Now i'm 37 and i'm still into skateboarding and pop punk primarly because of the THPS games

I used to feel that way when I was little, but that was because I was too damn young to even understand how good we had it when it came to skateboarding. And I still hold a grudge towards myself for missing out on a radical video game franchise. Same went for EA's Skate series. Now that I'm older, I'm starting to appreciate the sport more and more. It wasn't until 1+2 dropped in 2020, at which point I made it my mission to play through the game, and you don't even wanna know how much of a ball I was having.
I was at this concert! And it was on my birthday. Best. Birthday. Ever.
that summer was my first concert, Goldfinger.. Mable SMASHED.. i also learned to kickflip from Tony Hawk at the university skate expo as promotion.. id still be skating today if i had an Achilles tendon in my left foot.. special thanks to Goldfinger for meeting us out back and to Tony for teaching kids when rain ruined the day..
I miss being a kid, I never skated but somehow this games made me feel better than Tony. What a great video and what a good time to be alive. Thanks Tony, Gold finger.
I would love to play a game with this song. and with this singer guy riding a skateboard

I can't believe that at 38 years old this song is starting to make sense to me.
First "No cigar", now "Superman", beyond amazing. 🎉
How amazing this is my dudes? Just awesome to be alive to see this happening!
best sound track ever always wanted a legit sound track with the beeps at the end of 2 minutes
I could just close my eyes and be transported back to that time.
Hasta se me pone la piel de gallina! Voy para 36 años, y debo decir que de cierto modo, Tony Hawk y el punk me salvaron la vida en un momento bien oscuro, y se que a muchos al igual que yo también!
Tony Hawk is the gift that keeps on giving
I'm so goddamn happy that Tony is podcasting now, I never realized as a child how much more he is than "just" a skate icon

Some people grow into something, some people grow out of something.
Mannnn..... him, singing this, made all the senses! I'm an old school skater. Got to skate with the Powell Peralta guys back in like. 87' - 88'ish at a demo at Chapel Hills mall in Colorado Springs one time. Rob, a dude that worked at BC SURF AND SPORT, was like, "Dougie, feel like hanging out at the shop today while the team is here?" Got to chill with Tony and the team all day. Drank like 10 Orange Julius and 6 liters of Jolt Cola. Got some launch ramp tips. Heh.. Anyway, fast forward many years... My son and I played THPS games together all the time when he was young. I'd take him to the skatepark for a couple hours, we'd come home to cool off when it got really hot outside and play this game for a while. He loved that this song was on the game because he and I sang it all the time prior to it being on the soundtrack. Flooded with memories here. Kinda made me get a little "frog-throated." Thanks for sharing!
