I actually had this game for the PS3 when I was 12 and I absolutely loved it so very much! Especially Nail The Grab, nail the manual, aggro kicking and even skate checking people!

The most underrated tony game

Grew up on the Tony Hawk’s games, but I don’t think I ever actually played this one! Going to have to check it out now, I reckon.

Project 8 was the masterpiece!

Coming from someone who 100%'d both P8 and PG, they are both excellent, although P8 was admittedly very rough around the edges, with the cheap unlikable classic mode character humour, weirdly cramped open world and especially the incredibly restrictive character editor as opposed to PG and any previous Tony Hawk game. And the bail goals, screw those (but then again PG had its fair share of bullshit goals so it balances out). But for the rest I had a lot of fun with both games, a breath of fresh air from how stale the formula was getting with American Wasteland, and they are both sleeper hits forgotten in the franchise without PC ports.

i just like how stylish the game is, it just looks cool and the music is good:) plus doing all the NTT variations was very cool. i would switch between the demo for this and the demo for skate 1 back in the day, spent entire afternoons doing that

I never spent time w this game, as I’m a little older. I think my favorite THPS game was American Wasteland. The parkour, the aesthetics in the environment, the bmx stuff, the list goes on. It made me have fun w bmx shit when I previously had no interest in a bmx game. Legendary title, IMO.

this is the last game i played before learning ab skate. my dads friend lived with us and he had it but i refused to try it cause i didnt know it, i played this until he forcefully turned off this game and thru in skate 2. needless to say i never played this or any other thps after that lol

I liked Proving Ground back when it was fresh. Started it quite recently and was shocked about how janky it was. Complete mess gameplay wise compared to Pro Skater and Underground games.

If you ever want to play some classic games again, Konami had a skateboarding game. Not sure if you can get a working emulator of it, but it'd be cool to watch you play it.

my ONLY complaint is that u cant free skate as the pros. 8/10 for me.

I genuinely can't remember if this was a game I had growing up. Was nail-the-trick in any other games apart from Project 8?

Every Tony Hawk Game was fire but top 3 are Thug2 American Wasteland and Project 8 easy

Do a story mode playthrough

This game was a rough patch like Pro Skater 4, some great new things added but it wasn’t smooth. If Activison had done one more game but cleaned up all the hiccups and made it vibrant again like Pro Skater 3 & THUG 2 it would’ve been 1000x better. This game went backwards, even walking off board feels clunky and not smooth to where you could bust sick combos like in the THUG series, all the levels were so grey and felt doom to where it’s depressing compared to maps like College on THPS4 & Boston from THUG 2. Little things like that were part of what made the series amazing but after AWL the new mechanics and just weren’t smooth or user friendly and they kept adding new features to make it more real like Nail The Trick and Rigging etc. which is great in perspective but they could never execute it right which is why P8 and PG are so hated and why the whole franchise just fell apart.

I was playing it earlier today it’s not bad once you get the controls down , but I still prefer ea skate games

Imagine how cool would it be if they released an exclusive game for new gen consoles in 2008 (an official one not a plastic board motion control bs)

Hard to call any skateboarding game a masterpiece if you ollie then do fliptricks, basically making every fliptrick a late flip.

@@Mitchel-lz9um yeah I'm familiar with nightspeeds from his session videos but I was just saying the way they figured you Ollie then basically do late flips in the thps franchise might make for fun games in general to some but not an accurate skateboarding game ever.
