Great seeing you guys feature John Conteh, the guy is still seriously sharp and knows what he’s talking about, would love to see more of him, absolute legend he is.

It was a known fact that John Conteh was genuine world class. He was an Elite fighter. Britain just didn’t produce elite fighters., certainly not in the seventies. John Conteh was no saint, he enjoyed life. How great could he have been. Well imagine if he’d lived his life like a saint, then maybe unbeaten during a decade. That’s how good John Conteh was

A movie should be made about John Conteh who (in my opinion) is arguably the most fascinating and charismatic boxer the UK has ever produced.

My dad was from liverpool he worked as a boilermaker at the camellardes ship yard , he was a very humble man and he was very proud to have been from liverpool.

Great to see John Conteh! He is a legend and someone us 70's kids loved growing up.

John Conteh was my hero growing up. An amazing World Champion Boxer. Sky should do a Biopic. Different class in and out of the ring. Great interview, good luck Bomber!

Regardless of the outcome against Usyk Conteh will still be the best boxer from Liverpool. Guy fought in a much harder era and more than held his own. Plus he's a very humble guy.

I'd always heard Conteh's name in passing. Seems like a top fella. Would be a shame for the British boxing stars of the 70s and 80s to fade into obscurity, so hopefully we see more of these.

Loved John, old school, inspired everyone back then, real class, halseon days they really were, the old Liverpool spirit, it's still there you know.

John Conteh was and still is the finest British boxer I’ve ever seen. It’s great to see him looking so fit and well.

Conteh was the Barry Sheene of boxing, a real character and lively personality

two real scouse champions peoples champions all the fame and money hasn't gone to there heads,John was amazing when i was a kid, they seem like nice guys, i watched tony telling his story on a podcast,that's a man with character a will to win,love to meet him for a beer,thanks for sharing this video xx

Nice interview,john brought out a different dimension than other interviewer,it's good Tony has that old school respect that seems sorely lacking nowadays in the kid's.

I must say,the treadmill description from John was great psychology... words of wisdom.. that's why john was a true champion 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧🔥

Great shout from conteh playing second fiddle but it was for the sake of the orchestra love it

I met John Conteh at a function in Plymouth in the nineties. Had a good chat about some of his fights. He never held back with his language either. I also recall Ali saying he was too pretty and reminded him, he is the prettiest.

Conteh was a fabulous boxer and I agree a great boxer beats a fighter almost always. This is why Tony will not beat Usyk and why Tyson Fury will beat Wilder.

Conte was the greatest Lt Heavy to come out of the UK. He could have been one of the greatest. We never saw the best of John Conte.

Any southpaw he has faced, the good ones at least...Bellew been on his ass! He looked big and strong vs Makabu...looking thin and weak prior to the Usyk fight

People saying Bellew has no chance.....of course he does! I think Usyk will be too much for him BUT Bellew has got power and always has a punchers chance. He's a far more clever guy in the ring than people give him credit for. I just hope he gets home safe to his wife and kids ;-)

@@Davross , Conteh gets ludicrously overrated for some reason. Good fighter but he never met most of the best names around at 175 during his time (Eddie, Galindez, Pops Johnson etc.) and the one he did face, Saad, beat him twice. It's an insult to Usyk to say he'd lose to Conteh (he's way too big for Conteh for starters).

2 legends and both are scousers

I have that one attribute that he does'nt have and that's the ability to switch off the lights ! Post fight , ERRRMMMM whose lights was it that got switched out

if bellew was to win, big if, but very very possible.. it would be stupid for him to retire, he would be a massive box office star and would be giving up the biggest paydays he has ever got and that is including the haye fight, 4 belts people will always tune in... good luck bellew show no fear and respect, dont give him time to establish his range and timing, and make this uncomfortable and give him hell, war bellew go out with your heart on your sleeve

chris vbnm I agree it would be stupid for him to retire but the big money just isn’t in the cruiserweight division, he could always jump back up to heavyweight but the big names are difficult fights would make sense to cash in on them though

Being poor or a scrote doesn't make you tough.

A lot of places are hard places to grow up and produce some very tough people over the years. Liverpool being one of them. However scoucers are the only ones that would say they are the only ones who are that tough! 😂😂

Yeah there's some tough places in the UK, but that's kinda relative to the country. The rough places in the eastern European countries are another level. The rough parts of countries like UK and America are like paradise compared to some of them old Soviet Union ghetto's and still are.

in Ukraine there were many boxers who, after their amateur career, did not go further and if everyone did it like Lomachenko and Usyk I think Ukraine would not be 5 boxing countries in the World but would be in three countries! The most interesting thing is that Usik played football, the beginning of his career in the Ukrainian Championship! then switched to boxing! and of course a huge flop made in his career and the technique of his boxing is Lomachenko senior! Tony Bellew for me is one of the coolest British boxers in the world at his home !!

I just hope bellew gets home safe to his husband and chihuahuas

Only last notable fighters he beat were a washed up- injuried haye, and bj Flores by Low blow, he won't get past this!!!

Yeah, Tony has been doing A LOT of chatting lately. Anyone who thinks Usyk is going to rush in 'like an amateur' has NO IDEA what they're talking about and have resorted to guessing. Bellew is a solid boxer and a good guy. But Usyk is another altogether... he's a masterclass boxer and is going to work and and work and work Bellew into frustration and mistakes, Usyk will do to Bellew what Bellew did to Haye. Look at what Usyk did to the cruiserweight division in the Super Series, they were all hard-as-nails warriors and Usyk schooled them all. Bellew knows this, this is why he's taking the fight SO SERIOUSLY (unlike his little fans)
