"Seamster" is a word. You were spot on; seamster is a man employed in sewing garments, the (better known) female equivalent being seamstress.

Your sewing items....the tailors roll is to slide into a sleeve and press so you don't get a seam...the clapper is used to press open heavy seams, the needle board is for pressing velvet and not crushing the nap.. the tailor board is use for pressing curves and pressing out points. ...info..from an old "seamster."

Quilters sometimes use the clapper too to help keep their pressed fabric flat instead of warping or wrinkling. Especially for piecing where you’re looking for precise corners/ seams meeting up.

You made me smile today and realize how strange my sewing supplies are. The sewing sleeve (and the sewing ham) are used to put a clothing item on (slide the sleeve roll inside a sleeve) so you can press the underarm seam without creasing the other side (which would happen if you tried to iron the sleeve flat). The ham helps when you are pressing something curved and you want to keep that shape rather then flat (think of a shoulder seam). The clapper is used when you are pressing a seam using steam. If when you remove the iron you press the clapper on the seam, it will suck up the steam moisture and make your seam very, very flat. The wooden tailor piece has several uses but I use it the most often when I need to get into a tight small space on clothing to press. It has various sides and sizes to work with lots of clothing pieces. ALSO - good luck with all the band stuff - it can be tough on parents! I was a band mom for 8 years and I also fed the 80 kids at each competition because I could not deal with them eating the greasy school food. Not out of my own pocket, the kids parents paid $5 per competition, I just shopped and prepared it.) I wish I had known about Molly's desire for more instruments. I just got rid of my youngest's clarinet and I would have loved to gift it to her. ((Sewn for 60+ years and taught sewing for 30 years)

After you iron your seam when sewing pieces together for a quilt you put the clapper on top to absorb the moisture and flatten the seam.

The box with a bunch of electronics and wires is actually that box that my husband found a power chord for an all in one screen he got for free and it was just him but cuz he got the whole computer thing for free but no cord lol. He went to sooooo many electronics stores to try to find one, even checked online. Then we happened to check out a garage sale in our neighborhood and there it was. He was so happy lol

My zoro order did not come in a box, they just slapped a label on the boxes with a few tie wraps on it. All the corners got kind of busted up. Guess it depends what fulfillment center ships your items.

Look thoroughly at the spit valve! I quit trumpet in 8th grade because I did not take care of my trumpet, and the spit valve was moldy and gross...Lol

The wood piece by the pressing ham It called a Taylor’s Clapper If you have a seam press with iron then put the Clapper over the seam and press and hold for a about 10 sec This really makes the seam more crisp and tight Love mine and they really work

I'm so glad you guys found amazing stuff on the third weekend of the sale. People give up on those sales but this goes to show that other people are looking for other things so take the chance and you could find something great. ❤
