I loved this! I had this same one as a kid. Last week when we were cleaning out my mom's house I spotted it in the dumpster I had rented, my soulless sister had tossed it out! Needless to say I rescued it. :)

Maybe someone should start a channel just for that. I'd subscribe.
I used to roll my GI Joe down a really steep hill in one of these. His head came off once lol.
Oh my goodness folks, now THAT'S how you do not only a restoration, but making it motorized!! Awesome episode Tim, one of the best I've seen and I watch a number of restoration videos. Great color for the new Tonka and so many of your craftsmanship skills and creativity were on full display. I look forward as always to your next project and you and yours stay healthy and safe. Cheers from this old retired coot living in Tennessee.💖 👍 😷 🍻 👀 ✌
From trash to treasure, nicely done, sir.
Tune the suspension and she'll ride perfect.
WOW!!!!! what a restoration. Really nice Tonka Rock Crawler!!!!.

That was an awesome conversion. It was great to see this toy restored and repirposed even better than before! Excellent work!

My brother and I each had one, I loved 'working' on it changing the tires. Now I do the same thing on my Jeep every weekend (although not quite for the same reason!)

That was quite the conversion. My brother had that toy when he was a kid, and he likes RC cars. He would love this.
Brilliant! It was just amazing. The dude looked happy! I know I was.
Sand blasting the hood was incredibly satisfying.

Yep, I gotta agree; satisfying.
Ok, you just did that to have your own fun! And man does it look like it! Loved the paint! Great choice! Great work again!!
I bet the people at Tonka never thought that their toys could be modified to operate with R/C equipment. Looks real nice. I'm sure old Duke enjoys 'driving' his new ride around your property.
Out standing ! lopsided up sided, who cares nice to watch a artist at work. Bravo.
This project turned out awesome Tim! This is one of My favorites. I absolutely loved the paint job and the sandblasting was smooth as hell too! Great job Man!!!
Pure bloody genius. You get the best of two worlds. The scale and size of the wheels are so close to the original Tonka wheels. Need more of this but with another iconic Tonka truck. Brilliant idea, thanks for sharing.
Had one of those growing up. Forgotten about it until you turned the tabs to remove the wheels. Very cool and that paint job is spectacular.
Far and away my favorite piece of your work. This is nothing short of awesome. And by the way, get a chuckle out of the kids cheering for the sandblaster every time. Great work dude
The Fractured Blue is a WINNER! What a GREAT JOB you did on this one.
I went into this video looking for a reason to cut it up. I finish the video amazed, and respectful of your craftsmanship. Great video!
This was one of my favorite toys.
Well done! Love the paint, conversion and of course, seeing Duke's new ride. You do such great work and I enjoy your editing choices. Always nice to see one of your videos come up! Thanks so much, take care - Stay Healthy!
That was my favourite toy in the late 70s early 80s. I still owned it up until about three years ago, it was in mint condition and I had all the accessories for. Sadly we moved and I couldn't bring it with us so I had to throw it out. I really appreciated your video giving that toy a new life. Well done.
I had a Tonka CJ-7 as a kid, it was light blue with a white interior and had the roll bar, instead of t-top hardtop. Great resto-mod!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! I've been wanting to see someone do that to an old toy! That is so COOL! Love the color as well! Awesome Job!
Paint is awesome! Turned out unbelievable! Thanks...
I’ve been patiently waiting for you to do something like this.
I like how the sped up spray painting sounds like a sprinkler! This is sweet right up my alley KUTGW Sir!
Amazing restoration as always. I love that blue paint. And it turned out beautiful. Excellent video. I so enjoy watching you.
Sand-Blasting is so satisfying!
I had to watch this. I had that exact Tonka when I was a kid.
Great Job! I love it. I had one of these and it came with a jack and a spare tire. My G.I. Joes were always fixing flats. LOL. I also had a Ford F-150 RC truck that I painted dark blue and painted the rims black. So your project reminded me of two of my favorite toys as a kid. Thank You. :-)
that fractured blue paint is so amazing i only learned of that kind of paint today also, good job on the customization sir :)
Awesome,amazing, incredible, astonishing 10/10!
Great job, Tim! Looks fantastic!
Woah! We had two of these during my childhood! Such a cool Tonka!

Incredible what you did there! Very well done indeed. Subbed. I hope there is lots more where this came from.
Had one of these as a kid. I'd sit on it and scoot down the driveway. Such a strong toy.

Awesome my friend.Great job!!!
Awesome work & restoration! Looks super Bad Ass!!!👍👍
Duke wants some details on his new sweet ride. Nothing garish, just some outdoorsy looking stripes.
Man I wish I still had my Tonka dump truck ide have you pimp it out too fantastic work
Bad Ass!! Very cool transformation/restoration. Even complete with Tonka's version of SGT Slaughter!
You transformed an old rusty toy car into modern 4x4, it's like Monster Garage, cool !
After a long day doing Army stuff, watching this is therapeutic.
Terrific build. Always love your work.
Fantastic engineering. As usual a top notch job.

Love the Star Wars swipes. You should put the Tonka logo on the tires. Thanks for showing off such a great idea.
I had that Tonka as a boy in the 70’s.
Oh, sick! I had this truck when i was a kid in the 80s
Really cool. I have been thinking about putting one on a RC Traxxas Summit.

YAAAAAAAAAYY!! Gets me every time. Also, that is a seriously cool RC kit. Wow.
very ,very clever way to do this ,structurally excellent, these type of mod's are difficult ,,,,,, well done!
I really like your choice of interior color. I would have gone the easy route and blacked it out. But, you picked a great color. It's really close. Love the build.
Best restore to date - this is awesome!
Congratulations for your beautiful project. 👏👏👏👏
I had one exactly like it when I was a kid. So funny you’re going to RC it because I almost got one off eBay to do it myself
Super job. Nice color choice.
That's so cool! Great job!😎
Awesome paint job. Is it just me or is the finished product sitting on a tilt/angle?

He need a 3 link setup or a "twist bar" don't remember the eng word for it. All regular cars have it. This is a normal behavior of heavy rc cars but are easy to get rid of
