I'm happy to report that my dream did become true and that Starlight1994 has broken the WR records for all 3 N64 categories and since then we also added Glitchless (which she also has the record in). Congrats Starlight, I'm very happy to see the game progress! You can find a link to the Speedrun.com leaderboards in the description if you want to see these runs.

I've been watching all your vids from latest to earliest, really good all of them. If I wasn't an Oldschool Runescape high lvl hiscore nerd I'd give speedrunning a go like you, just don't have the time to give up my main game just yet. Also really funny when you said "blowpipe walking" as in OSRS we also have a Blowpipe which you can use for "Blowpipe Walking" or "Woox Walking" named after the glitch hunter who found it, avoiding damage by abusing the pipe attack speed+walking inbetween attacks in an unintended way. Hope you get to make more videos as to me this is as good as summoning salt videos, but more personal, and I love that!

Some fun facts about this game: it basically came about from the idea of turning the testing they were doing for Rayman 2's engine into a game. Supposedly, the test model for Rayman had a simple purple tube for a head and similar colors to Ed. Also, the PC version of the game has an FMV intro and full voice acting, featuring most of Ubisoft's usual suspects of that era. Interestingly, a sequel tentatively called 'Tonic World' went into very, *very* early concept work/pre-production at some point around 2000. Only a handful of concept art of it remains proving it's existence. It was canned quickly after Tonic Trouble itself flopped.

This is easily in my opinion the best world record history video I've ever seen, but mostly because Tonic Trouble's entire history is best protrayed through the eyes of one person This was worth every second of it and I can't wait to see what your next steps will be. No obscure game is safe!

I think I’m pretty sure you’re channel should be waaaay bigger than it is. I’m sure it has to do something with the algorithm or the video titles etc but something here doesn’t add up. Great content 👌

Omg, I didn't expect to see my name as well among the others in your special thanks! Feeling honored Osu, I will always remember the fun I had while playing the game with the company of you all. By the way, you did a very good job! Great effort and great result, congratulations!

I think my motivation is similar to yours I enjoy finding and applying glitches I get a run that does all the tricks "well enough" but then lose interest in grinding for perfect execution / RNG

I could really relate to that video especially the part about having the game on your mind and coming back to it every once in a while to test new strats, slowly improving the time until one day hopefully it finally goes under 1 hour

You can't imagine how happy makes me to see, even if i only love to watch speedruns and how they are made, that this game managed to get his own Speedrun section, and now a wonderful explanatory video too! Thank you Osukarui ❤

Great video. Never heard of the game before, but it looks pretty cool. The progression was interesting and the mystery door to go straight to the boss feels like something I would see in a swankybox video 👍

180 Discord members (as of posting the video) and only a little over 10 players (as of me writing this post, 3 years later)? What causes this bottleneck? I only follow Mario 64, where a lot of people start running it without barely knowing how to jump; they learn two essential skips and then you can beat the game even if you're a beginner. Or are people intimidated by the optimization level? Nothing wrong with having a slow PB. Great video, I've thought about doing something similar in the past but all games I enjoyed as a kid have already been turned upside down. Gotta start scraping the barrel for games I've never seen that could be explored.

This game has the same developers as Rayman so they actually take place in the same universe. There are characters that appear in both Rayman and Tonic Trouble.
