You used the words intimidated and scared regarding the tone curve. This was definitely me until watching this video. I have watched numerous videos on this subject but yours blows them all away. This was an incredible video that explains it in a way that made perfect sense to me. Twenty minutes that have taken me from confusion to almost fully understanding the tone curve. Thank you Terry.

The term “Tone Curve” comes from the Latin “Whatius The Hellius Is Thisius” 🤔 Nice job explaining it. 👍😎
Thanks, Terry. I’ve never heard anyone explain the tone curve as clearly as you did in this video. Great video!

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching James!
A great introduction to tone curves. Well thought out and illustrated, especially when combined with masking. The key to using all these tools is understanding how they work, which is what you have done. I do like the idea of using a brush over the whole image and then the amount slider for fine control is a great idea; I don't think I have seen that illustrated elsewhere.

Thanks Andrew, I appreciate the kind word and the feedback.
I was waiting for something to finish, and started looking at this tone curve tutorial on my mobile. There are so many ways to adjust colours in LHR, I didn't expect to learn much from it. Boy, was I mistaken! Thanks for yet another use of masks, allowing me to better adjust colours of either subjects or backgrounds where necessary.

I am a retiree who has decided to take up photography as a hobby. I thought I should take life easy in retirement. But I found myself taking notes and watching most of your clips twice to get a hang of the things you described. Back to those college days again☺☺☺.

Hi Vickie, that is so great to hear. Glad its working for you.
I am finding Lightroom classic very frustrating, if I select a subject mask, I have to spend an age subtracting the space between a birds legs, or rocks at the side . Additionally if using auto sync on a series of bird in flight shots, the mask is in a different place at the end of the series ie. the adjustments I make on the bird in the first shot are made somewhere in the bushes to the side of the bird in the last shot! Thanks for the video, I enjoyed your teaching style..

Hi Terry, a couple of minutes in, when describing the colour wheel and the blending of the 3 primaries, you state B+R=C and B+G=M. I'm pretty sure that's the wrong way around, i.e. B+R=M and B+G=C?

You are correct I made a verbal error there. Thanks for catching it.
