Hey Terry! Wow! Thank you. I've been using PSD for a long time-like when you had to buy the CD-rom's. LOL. I actually created all the illustrations for my book using PSD on a laptop. I moved away from it for a long time and for whatever reason, the program feels like it has changed a lot!!! In some ways I'm starting as a beginner, but so much is familiar still and your video was great. You're a fantastic teacher. I truly appreciate these tutorials, it takes a lot of time to make them, I know as I make videos as well. This will be a great refresher and reintroduction to PSD.

Getting back into possibly using Lightroom to edit some concert photography photos and this was helpful in remembering the beginning stages. The sample group of three shots is interesting because they were taken at such a fast shutter speed of over one thousandth and thus forcing a high ISO for outdoors of 1250. I'm curious whether that was your manual choice

Terry, great videos, and excellent explanations about both the how and why. For those of us who recall the old days of Tri-X, pushing/pulling developers, burning and dodging, the things we can do in programs like PS and LRC are miraculous. What AI is bringing to the table is equally impressive and if used smartly will only serve to raise photography, and photographers, to new levels. Your focus (no pun intended) on adjusting with purpose is vitally important and I wish more people understood this. It would prevent so much of the over processing of images that we see in a lot of photography these days. Ansel Adams was not the greatest photographer to ever click a shutter. He was arguably the greatest technician to ever set foot into a darkroom. I can't even imagine what his skills would be capable of with the tools we have available to us. Keep up the good work.

Hi Terry, great video. I have the same experiences as you do. I usually use this feature to remove landlines, signs, posts or unwanted persons in the background. Usually I get good results but with some patterns Lightroom as well as Photoshop really seem to struggle. Amazingly it’s not the chaotic patterns like rocks or leaves but the geometric patterns where it seems to have the most difficulties, same for no structure at all like a blue (or worse grey) sky. How do you feel about the Photoshop tool that allows you to generate a bigger picture? I found it does a good job with clipped wings (even though I need a few tries sometimes) but it‘s impossible to generate any talons of birds of prey’s. It messes up, even if you have like already half of it already in the picture…
@tv5109 күн бұрын
Curious. I have not tried to generate talons, but I could see where someone would want to. I think the Photoshop version is better, but I use the fill features mostly to give me a little more space on the backgrounds and such. Thanks for watching.

I am using Adobe Lightroom 7.3 When I open a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop, it always opens up in .tiff format. I dont know how to make it open in the RAW format. I have been looking around in lightroom to see if there is a way to change the format in which the photo is transferred to Photoshop, but I am not able to find it. Is there a way to do this in Lightroom 7.3?
@tv51010 күн бұрын
Lightroom? (mobile) or Lightroom Classic (for the desktop)? If you are talking about Lightroom Classic, then 7.3 is a pretty old version. They are on 13.3 at this point. There should be a way in settings inside Photoshop, where you can open an image in a format you like. Even today, you won't be able to work on a RAW image in photoshop but you can in Adobe Camera Raw - which is a separate program. Once you have done your RAW tweaking, then you can open it in Photoshop. Good luck!
