TOMSHOO 750ml Titanium Pot Field Use Review.

TOMSHOO 750ml Titanium Pot Field Use Review. I purchased this for 22 dollars and change from Ebay. Seems very similar to a model by Toaks but cheaper. Seems really well made. Past my tests which included use over open fire and alcohol stoves.

Love sound of the rain on your tarp.
Tomshoo,Toaks, Lixada, Rocreek and Timberbrother are all Chinese branded titanium cooking pots currently sold on Amazon, just like this one. Next week it will be some other label on the pot and so on. Toaks seems to have stayed around a little longer, but they too will probably disappear, but the titanium pots will stay, and naturally with a different brand label. So, what is really being reviewed is the same cooking pot as the ones mentioned above and all of them have the same issue with the lid. The label on mine says Toaks and yes, the lid sucks, but I found it is a safety thing for preventing hot water from spewing from the three vent holes on the lid. This is a great review, it is a good pot and you got a good price....oh, Tomshoo currently does not have this cooking pot listed on Amazon.... but if anyone wants “the pot” buy any brand above, you’ll get the same exact thing.
I love your videos. I cant wait for new ones. Ive watched them all numerous times. Another great one.
that's what i like about your vids, you are not afraid of the elements, rain shine snow or hail, you love the woods we all can tell..

Thanks for the info Kevin. Nice pot, been looking for something to go with my GI Mess Kit. Awesome price! I've been shying away from titanium because of the cost.

Those fiddlehead ferns look delicious. Reminds me of going into the woods to collect them with my grandmother 40+ years ago. Haven’t seen them for years. Good deal on the pot. I’ve been thinking of getting a 750 ti pot but don’t really “need” it so couldn’t justify the price. I’ll check this out. Thanks

Very cool! I want to try fiddle head ferns! I bought a billy can and cup from Pathfinder school. The billy can is much bigger than your new pot. I like your set up, but I can’t long distance home because of my leg, so I go to my fishing spot practice bushcraft on the bank of the lake. Thanks for the info

Nice, I have the same pot! I Sprayed some Plasti-Dip on the pot handles and lid handle to minimize that heat transfer to the hands. It's pretty good.

like that pot good video thanks for letting us see this thanks
Just a idea... If you hit the edges of the lid (on both sides) with a center punch to make a little mark in the metal, I think that should solve the problem of the loose lid. 👍
Thanks I’ve been looking at those pots 👍. If you have a GSI infinity backpackers mug I would like to see how that fits in the pot.

The GSI mug is a good fit, with some minor mods. (I just finished a week trip with the same set-up.) Trim the little tab on the lid so it's perfectly round. Then cut off the material handle on the Infinity Mug. You should be able to slide it into the pot (snugly). I usually put it in upside down.
Long time since I had fiddleheads....good treat.....fun, enjoyable reviews...thanks....D

I have just received my Tomshoo 750ml pot (Jan 24the 2019) and it looks like the lid problem may have been been addressed. My lid sits perfectly on the pot and whilst not a tight fit it it not easy to slide off. The lid handle, when slid into position, stays upright too as does the bale (Toaks clone?). Great value for money.
@MegaWoodswalker

Cool. Thanks for the info and watching!
Some say that the lid is deliberately made to fit loose so that when you lift it off when the water is boiling, there is less chance to tip the pot over if it was a tight fit.

I also own a MSR Titian Ti kettle with a tighter fitting lid and never seen a real difference but maybe. I am not sure. Thanks for watching!
The lid from the toaks 550ml will fit better on that pot . awesome video man 550from toaks has 2 different lids the one your using on that 750ml and an ultralight version

From what I've seen, there are maybe two factories that produce titanium cookware and all these companies like toaks, lixada, tomshoo etc just source from the same one. The only ones I can see that are actually different is the stuff from pathfinder and maybe Keith.
@lowlandnobleman6746

Even Pathfinder has some OEM stuff. Their titanium canteen is from the same factory as the titanium canteens from Lixada and Valtcan and Boundless Voyage. Exact same shape, size, and capacity, but logo laser etched on it is different. Just look up “OEM titanium canteen” and you’ll see what I am talking about. They sell them in batches of 200.
Another nice video, Mega Woods Walker but I am still wondering what that stove you used was. Please give me a hint. Thanks.

It's the bottom of a USGI mess kit aka "meat pan".
I saw the fiddlehead fern in a picture on Pinterest but I didn't know that they were edible. What do they taste like? And where do you find them?
The one thumbs down, must be the guy who bought the same set at full price, and then forgot to pack it when he went out camping. Nice deal on the set, I also have a similar grill like that, and I’ve used it for smaller cups using my Alocs stove. I’ve heard of eating Fern leaf heads, but I’m not sure I want to do that.

Hi. what wood stove do you have?
R.I.P. Brother.
You got a biolite, will you be reviewing it?

I have two. The Cookstove and Campstove 2. I am going to review the Campstove 2 and might do a wood vs sun (Campstove 2 vs Cookstove with UL solar panel combo). I got them both on sale so could not resist. The Campstove 2 is being tested. Already determined how long it takes to charge from one yellow bar to full green bars via fire. Working out how many mAh it transfers from the built in battery. Working out how well it charges when the battery is near empty aka directly from the fire. Working out what pots function best. It's kinda complex so will take a few more weeks. Something like this really needs solid testing. So far I am happy with both.
I have that multi spice too
👌🏻

"The holes work"... genius comment.
the question i have is... is it real Titanium though?? I was looking into getting a set of dishes from TOMSHOO but maaaan... im skeptical! I just don't want like lead impurities leaching off into my coffee or food.
@MegaWoodswalker

It seems like Ti based on owning other Ti cookware.. I can't imagine that lead would be even part of the manufacturing process but never had it chemically tested. Thanks for watching!
@skatershawn410
6 жыл бұрын
I don't see why there would be lead traces either, but i'm just trying bring up the question of, "why is it so much cheaper?" I understand production costs in China are far cheaper but Ti as a Metal is expensive. Maybe USA or name brand companies just mark them up THAT MUCH! I mean the comparable Ti pot from a name brand company is something like $60-70 more. That's a huge markup. It just makes me wonder if it's true Ti or not.
@gordonmurdoch3811
5 жыл бұрын
Production costs in China are lower, that's why Toaks, Keith and other 'named' products are made there. Maybe the bubble has burst and somebody is now charging realistic prices for titanium cookware. As lead traces, what would be the advantage of putting lead in a lightweight product ?@@skatershawn410
How will you know if its real titanium?..
@MegaWoodswalker
5 жыл бұрын
Feels like it compared to my other Ti cookware from multiple companies. However that's subjective. Thanks for watching!
I always look forward to your videos. I think the Toaks pot that I have the bales are 90° to the ones you have...easier to drink from.
