    Found this much clearer than most of the competition. Some hints for unusual situations might be helpful (for example, grouting just two or three tiles, edge finishing) but this is a great intro!

    I have seen so much bad grouting over many years, the main problem is that people either dont know and end up with really poor grout lines, pointing a grout line in after its been drying is a MUST to get a perfect smooth grout line, this vid dosent show this happening, take my proffesioal advise, use either a plastic or metal end ball pointer to get a perfect line, you will be amazed at the finish you get, dont do it when its wet say about 20 minutes drying time then point away.

    Looks good, but what if my tile (exterior) has a little more "rough" texture to it? I don't want the grout to stick TO the tiles because of the tiles texture (roughness), and I don't want to wipe it off too soon either and not do it's job.

    grout joints need to be curved inwards can use a credit card end and after when everything is dry to apply a grout sealant, helps prevent it from cracking

  • @GoldRose02
    @GoldRose0211 жыл бұрын

    Actually you don't want to go up and down. It causes it to move around and not set evenly. Instead you want to move in a circular motion to ensure the grout is set in the cracks and even.

    +abdul raheem remove them before grout. they are made out of plastic and grouting over them will create soft spots which will cause problems.

    This is not how to grout. Maybe as a rough start. "Do it right?" The grouting hasn't been titivated, I run a finger round each & every joint making a uniform radius, paying particular attention the transitions between vertical & horizontal making sure those "crosses" are of uniform radius too. Talk about cowboy builders! 5:05 onwards do final finishing. Personally I don't smear grout over the whole tile surface, I apply grout to the gaps only, making each joint nice as I go. Then a final finish.

    Mixed way too much grout, didn't allow the grout to slate, didn't smear correctly, didn't smooth out the joints.

    you were probably using ready made grout which has to much moisture in, i see it alot and its normally the diy stores ready made grout,You need to use a powder grout and made it up yourself..

    Never use pre-mixed adhesive or grout. It's rubbish. Nowhere near as strong or hardwearing as powder. Mapei and Bal are the brands the trade use. Don't buy the quick set unless you're only mixing it up in tiny batches.
