But did you not get the iconic scene in S1 where Tommy says “now you’ve seen me’? Grace has seen him too but worried about him because she knew he was putting himself and their family in danger not because she didn’t accept him.

@@ChristinApril yea but i feel like they dropped the ball with her character, intentionally or not. yes, i love grace and her relationship with tommy and yes, those moments were powerful but i think more development was given to tommy and lizzie. how healthy that love was is up for debate but their relationship was more interesting because of that.

I love their performances. She is so much more suited for him. She is from his world and are best friends. She doesn’t try to change him. I love their love story. Thank you

People hate her because Tommy married her. They even insists that Lizzie trapped Tommy in marriage using their daughter which is absolutely ridiculous. He's Tommy Shelby. He can do whatever he want. If he doesn't want the child and the marriage, Lizzie can do nothing about it! Those haters really love to weave stories as if they were co-writers of Steven Knight! They also like to make her look bad! Lizzie's not bad. She loves a child that's not even hers!

I agree, I don't understand why they don't love Lizzie, if she has been an incredible woman who has never betrayed Tommy, Grace was cute but she was a liar, you just have to see how she cheated on him in the first seasons, her wedding with Grece was stressful for him and her family just see how she was on her wedding day, Lizzie is the only woman who didn't ask for money or anything, just the truth because that's what matters most

They have same strong personality so when we see them together we can see a soulmate couple..

Tommy×Lizzie are better suited for one another coz they know the real meaning of hardships, compromises, disappointments... they r self made n know how harsh n cruel the outside world is!! They're opportunists n survivalists whose bond is based on familiarity, loyalty n an unspoken connection.

They are each other's best friends! I don't know of people would agree with me or not but, I always felt that Tommy always had a soft side for Lizzie. Firstly, he didn't let John marry her. Secondly, he did everything he could to make her life better. Thirdly, he told in front of everyone how it was only Lizzie who stopped his heart from breaking (even when Grace was settled in the US) . Lastly, my favourite part was when Tommy was furious at Mosely. Their relationship is so underrated and people always go for like the bad guy + good girl stuff, that's why Tommy and Grace's relationship is so popularised. However, if we look a little closely, it is the mischievous pairs who make it work and try and keep things realistic! That's why I prefer Tizzie over Trace...

I disagree if you ask any woman if theyd like to be lizzie theyd say no because the way he treats her is so disgusting. first he didnt let john marry her is because he wanted his brother to be with a good woman who would be able to take care of the kids not still prostituting. The way he spoke of her is just disrespectful he has no respect for her and she allows him to treat her this way because she is so desperate for his love he took on lizzie because she was sort of family and he didnt want strangers in the company business and if your talking about season 5 he only married her because she was pregnant and hes a politican a wife looks good he said that she stopped his heart from breaking after grace died.Lizzie is always tommys second/third opinion thats love? he was furious because his arch enemy has slept with his wife and knows she was a Prostitute but you can feel how you feel but i dont ship them because its not love im not attacking you i just wanted to let you know what i thought on your comment

I think Tommy is actually proud and cares deeply for Lizzie. He is approving of how Lizzie handles Mosley as he gives her a wink after she drops the coin into Mosley's glass. Before that while in the pantry,, Tommmy does say that if Mosley lays a finger on Lizzie, he will be meat for Johnny Dogg's fire. Perhaps it is simply a matter of interpretation.

Agreed. I think people are not used to unconditional love and unconventional pairings. The fact that Tommy could have sent anyone to hire lizzie when his brother wanted to marry her gave me a clue in the first season that there was a pull. He always kept her close. They think he's too grand for her, but she is too grand for him. And he knows it. She is want makes him feel good. He keeps telling her she is who calms him, comforts him, he loves her and he marries her. Tommy wouldn't marry just anyone. She loves a broken man, yes, but that broken man absolutely loves her. He has never been casual with her as he's been with the other women save Grace. I think the level of love he has for lizzie is equivalent, deeper and murkier than the love he had for grace. And just as beautiful.

When he said “ I still want things that are nice” he was so vulnerable there , almost with pleading eyes, the only other time he gave that look was with Tatiana where he allowed himself to be totally vulnerable , l’m seeing the same look here , it’s nice to see him opening up a bit more , even it was in face of tragedy, l guess we are getting a glimpse of what he meant when he said she was the only one who stopped his heart from breaking!

such beautiful symbolism with the money in season one episode four and at the end of season three ; Lizzie took the money Season 1 Episode 4 because part of her was still in love with Tommy and I think she just wanted one more chance to be with him in that way ... at the end of season three she's the only one who refuses to take the money from him and it's because she acted out of love and didn't want to be paid for their time together. when tommy tells her in front of everyone that they money wasn't just for the sex, but it was because she was the one who kept his heart from breaking when no one else did, I get chills every time.

I hope we get more Tommy/Lizzie and just Lizzie in general in S6. I love them together so much and she’s such a great character This was a beautiful video!

Each women in Tommy's life brought something to his life, but my soft spot is tommy and Lizzie, they have more in common and they help each other grow. Thanks for the video.

This is such an old video but I'ma leave my two cents sdfkjlsdf Tommy and Lizzie's relationship is incredibly tricky to me. Like, to me, they definitely were not friends before he got together with Grace. Their relationship really felt like an exchange because it was, he'd pay her for her "time" and that was that. After Grace left for the US, it was that same exchange - but more in a rebound sense, hence why there was that moment were Lizzie said "I wish you wouldn't pay me, like normal people." and Tommy essentially disregarded it. Then after Grace died, they had that moment were Lizzie had to ask if Tommy was thinking of her (her either being Grace or the previous girl he used to like before he went to war, can't remember) either way, Lizzie has always been used as like a replacement or a placeholder. I think ONLY when she finally got pregnant with Tommy's child that he was forced to take her a little seriously and essentially forced to do the right thing, which was marry her. And then you watch their dynamic as a married couple and it's completely strained. Tommy doesn't tell her anything, she's constantly left out of the loop, Tommy uses her past as ammo when they're fighting - the works. However, I feel like their relationship really took a big turning point when Lizzie put her foot down and absolutely demanded that Tommy take her seriously and that he treat her with respect and I feel like when that happened, they actually had some growth as a couple. Yeah she's not Grace, but she's someone who wants to be in the life, she chose it, and wants to be Tommy's equal rather than someone he married because she got pregnant. I don't think they love each other just yet, personally, but I feel like once she put her foot down and was willing to show her worth and her determination that she was going to withstand all of Tommy's mess that that formed an admiration from Tommy's end (granted they have had some bonding moments, but I feel like those moments got overshadowed by other things that had been going on at the same time, aka Tommy only really focusing on Grace etc lol). I have to see where they'll go in future seasons, but I think their relationship is one that took a lot, a LOT, of work to get to where it is now. (I also do believe that they do have an understanding of each other, like they don't hate each other, but I definitely feel like love is a strong word for these two, but they do have a bond together that does extend past the child they made). I definitely like Lizzie isn't a woman to continue taking things lying down and I do like her with Thomas even though they've had a very rocky start. I really want to see where they go together as a couple and as a family.

yeeees at first i hated lizzie but when i continued watching the show i realized that she really is the one for tommy, and i hope tommy will realize how vital lizzie for her, he's just focusing on the past which is not the concern anymore, lizzie deserve better. i hope they will not turn down lizzie

I ALWAYS preferred Lizzie over Grace... even May. Right from the first Season on, even if she was barely seen in it. I don’t get at ALL why Grace is worshipped like some kind of angel by most in the fandom while Lizzie is treated like she is some kind of gold digger that has manipulated Tommy into being with her... when it’s actually been the other way around, lol. Grace and her relationship with Tommy is so badly written and I also don’t like the actress. Lizzie is a character with true depth and she fits so much better with Tommy. It breaks my heart how badly he often treats her. I hope the writers will FINALLY allow for Tommy to at least honestly appreciate Lizzie at some point before the end. She is his pillar that always caught and grounded him. But I have a feeling Lizzie will never get that, because even the writers seem to prefer Grace. I swear to god, if they bring that blonde devil back for some bullshit reason I’ll quit the show.

Still she was not sad about it like tommy was when he lost her... If she really loved Tommy, then she could have come in search of HIM to birmingham before getting married and could have waited for him.... Someone told me that Grace was wearing the purple veil as a sign of “ mourning “ for her dead husband on her wedding to Tommy ! But WTF would any woman wear a mourning garment on the day she is supposed to be getting married to love of her life especially a mourning garment for the death of her previous husband !!! Which makes me think that Tommy & Grace getting married was rushed & unprepared! ... why not wait until the period of “ mourning is over “ then get married on a new slate ! Loved Lizzie absolutely hated grace and I didn't even get chemistry with them.... But him and Lizzie on screen were the best!!!! She was the only one that truly knew him and let him do what he needed to do.... I wish Stephen Knight had made him reject Grace for Lizzie in the writing and Lizzie was his advisor after Polly.

I think near the end she is trying to look out for her kids ( one of whom is Grace’s child that she is raising as her own ) ! Seeing as suicidal Tommy seems to not want to give AF anymore ! Even with a wife & 2 kids . He Keeps getting into dodgy deals and dealing with more & more dangerous people. She showed that when Johnny Doggs & Aberama turned up at his house and Charlie witnessed everything. She told him to get his sh!t together and not subject his children to potentially dangerous situations although Charlie had already been kidnapped as infant , she didn’t want him to witness his father possibly Getting killed in a gang war that went wrong .
