😂😂😂Awesome reaction 😂😂 In Tommy's description on the video, it says "Dedicated to Merlin. The greatest hero that no one will ever hear about!" Merlin was a character in The Kingsmen. He was standing on a land mine, singing Take Me Home Country Road while he waited for his friends to escape before stepping off the mine, taking several enemies with him. Thus the reason for the Kingsmen movie in the background. And it is Hamish "Merlin" Mycroft in the photo at the start (Mark Strong) Obviously Tommy is a big fan by the sound of it

My first disagreement with you, Lee; I never thought of JD's version as country, more...folky-pop, I guess....I hate regular country too. I loved the original (I was in high school when it came out), tho I did get a bit tired of hearing it 50 times a day on the radio. And I do love banjo & bluegrass music. Still love ya anyway! And I liked this cover, too! What was playing on the tv in the background? Oh thank you; you heard me type that. You're' psychic!

That was hilarious! See what happens when you say all music genres on your reaction channel? lol Honestly, though, we all have at least one music genre that we just don't connect on. For me it's jazz, I think. Always a few songs that are exceptions I suppose. Anyway, Tommy did a great job on this one.

Great job by Tommy. This song was a hit when I was a kid. I had the eight track cassette and it was a pop hit at the time. It has been covered many times and one of the best was by Ray Charles. In any event it's time for some more Lars Fabian. May I suggest Love By Grace or You're Not From Here or Yentl Medley or I Will Love Again. By the way I still like the John Denver's version over Tommy's.

To get to know why kingsman are relevant you gotto watch the movies, frankly both of the ones with taron is brilliant and you really should see them! I fucking died when i saw ur Face when i picked up the banjo 😂 tbh in this i do not mind it! I think alot of people underestimate how hard playing a banjo actually is haha I would love to see someone feature a banjo in heavier music and make it their thing. The Metalcore band imminance use a violin and it is so astonishly beautiful

The Kingsman clips are not relevant. The song is really about John Denver's tribute to the beautiful countryside and American country life he experienced growing up. Tommy made kind of a mockery of that by not even including clips of America's mountains or country-life, but instead used the self-suicide scene from a movie where the character sang the chorus as his last words then blew himself up. I'm curious if he would make a mockery of the Star-Spangled Banner as well if he covered it. Not cool bro.

It wasnt country to begin with, more folk-rock.
