Couldn’t agree more! Amongst my short and exclusive list of highly talented actors, Tom Hardy and Daniel Day-Lewis are a couple of my absolute favorites! I’m flabbergasted and utterly impressed, with Hardys ability to consistently AND convincingly act out a variety of accents and tones, showcasing his rare ability to have a nuanced timbre in the voice of every character he portrays!!! That range between characters separates and distinguishes the greats from the ordinary or average actors!!!

I feel as though Cillian Murphy deserves his flowers, too. He played the part with no imperfections. Thomas Shelby was brought to life by him. Although other actors, like Tom Hardy, did the same, none of them did to the level of Murphy.

I’m glad you caught it too! I almost commented about it too, because I was surprised at the lack of people who caught that line.

Alfie was the only man who made Tommy face who Tommy really was. More than once on the show Alfie would out Tommy's hypocrisy in a way that rattled Tommy because he knew Alfie was right.

I actually got to watch this being filmed on Formby Beach in the UK. The scene was actually shot over the course of a full day and there were quite a few variations of this scene. Both actors (and the producer) were lovely.
