Tommy Aldridge (born August 15, 1950) is an American heavy metal and hard rock drummer. Aldridge is noted for his work with numerous bands and artists since the 1970s, such as Black Oak Arkansas, Pat Travers Band, Ozzy Osbourne, Gary Moore, Whitesnake, Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy, Vinnie Moore & Yngwie Malmsteen.
Self-taught, Aldridge was initially inspired by the music of Cream, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. Drummers such as Joe Morello, Ginger Baker, John Bonham and Mitch Mitchell were particularly influential as Aldridge developed his drumming style. Aldridge himself has become very influential, and is regarded as a double bass drum pioneer in rock music.

Tommy is a class act. Props to the interviewer as well, really liked how he complimented Tommy, very cool.
Tommy's secret for getting gigs: 1) world class drummer 2) not addicted to anything 3) easy to get along with 4) doesn't demand an outrageous salary.
Wow, just wow...Tommy is just such a humble man, and just a blessing to hear him speak. God bless ya Tommy! Such and incredible talent.

Vinyl Rebel It really is refreshing to hear such a focused and even keeled ROCKSTAR drummer. My friend of decades is his drum tech and speaks very highly of him as a musician and human. I’ve been a fan of Tommy’s over 30 years.

There's nothing boring about him! I love that guy so much. No ego ever!
After all this time listening to him play I realised I'd never heard him speak. What a lovely dude. Knows who he is and is comfortable with himself and with life minus the ego. That's a pretty cool place to be! Much respect
The guy is still ripping drums. One of the best.
I met Tommy years ago at Guitar Center in MN and I must say what wonderful experience.
If Randy "had lived"( I wish) we'd be interviewing Randy about Tommy!! The chemistry and connection was unparalleled!!
Love how he says he's blessed.
Long live Tommy Aldridge!! Fantastic human 👏 extremely talented Drummer, Goddamn!!
When Tommy is talking about the "After Hours" video..... arguably one of the greatest moments in Rock and Roll history just the up close footage of Randy you can actually see his face,,,, his smile and Tommy and Rudy just sound phenomenal, we're so luckily they played live and didn't sync.

Yes recorded in Rochester NY. I was a teenager big into Randy and watched the after hours tv show which aired after 12midnight on a Saturday .
Such an influential, legendary, bad-ass drummer - and humble to boot. "He says he's been blessed and lucky. Thank for being a great example for all of us to learn from, and enjoy. Cheers!
Us rock fans here in the UK love tommy. Seen him play with different bands over the last 40 years. A hugely talented top class musician. But very modest about his gift. God bless you tommy lad.!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rock On.
Tommy seems such a nice guy One of the best drummers ever!
"I fooled you too eh?" What an amazingly humble guy.

From what I understand, that was Lee Kerslake on the tribute drum solo. Tommy stated that years ago because, Tommy said he didn't palm the bongos. He may of been confused? I remember reading this in a few music magazines. Tommy always gave Lee a ton of credit back then..that's how I remember it..do your own research.
truely one of the greats.. nice to hear him speak. humble and articulate.
Honest and humble man. Pleasant to listen to his English, good articulated and rich language. great contrast with many other rockers.
This guy has played with more bands than I can remember.
Tommy is so cool and humble. A real human not sticking his nose in the air.. what a power house!😇🤗😇
Killer Killer drummer, my first albums of him were with Black Oak Arkansas in the early 70s.. and he never stopped kicking ass..
Great drummer! My dad saw him with Black Oak Arkansas back in the day and said he was one of the best drummers he ever saw and did a killer drum solo--and my dad was not a fan of drum solos but Aldridge was only one he said was good at it.

Believe it or not my Dad saw him as well and said that same thing ( Drummer was fuc!ing awesome ( Motley crues) Tommy Lee stated this as well just prior to joining Motley and just prior to Tommy joining Ozzy. Sammy Hagars rock show on t.v. ( you can look it up). Anyhow, Tommy has always been my favorite "blue collar "Drummer ever! Just performs and does his fucking job! Definitely needs tons more credit 😌 🙌 🤗 ☺️

Even as a young drummer on the New orleans music scene he was self depreciating always the ncest guy in the room and the absolute greatest American drummer and with his longevity in the genre the greatest Rock drummer to me .
All time favorite drummer, super cool guy.
The legend speaks!!
What a great guy. So humble. Not egotistical, which is refreshing.♡
A Legend!
Very nice interview, good and decent inteviewer and,of course,mr Tommy Aldridge!!Really humble, down to earth when he's not behind the drums. But,when he IS behind his drums then he is a beast,a dragon! One of most influential heavy rock drumers!!
Talked to him one day on the jetbridge of all places, He's a very nice guy.... I couldn't believe it was him, saw the BIG Hair and said, Tommy Aldridge? said it like 3 times... He said, Yes!!
Excellent musican & Men. . . So much love & positive energy. . . LEGEND!
I'm a big fan Tommy, I first saw ya play with d'Thumbs in Chicago!
Absolutely love this guy! Tommy rocks!
Great little interview
He is the MAN !
I love Tommy Aldridge, great guy, great entertainer.
What a truly great guy. Absolute legend.
Everyone loves Tommy. Even David Coverdale. He must be a nice guy.
Tommy Aldridge is such a class act!
That's crazy he said that was a disappointing night cause that album literally changed my life, which inspired me to be a musician. Wow.
Love this guy! Bleessed to see him play! Whitesnake! 2018!!!!
Tommy, nice guy and great drummer!!
Nice interview Eric! Tommy seems like a proper decent bloke - and what a drummer -STILL!!
I first heard Tommy back in the early 70's, Black Oak Arkansas, a live version of "Hot And nasty". My introduction to double bass. I've been playing double bass ever since, the last kit I got in 1977, Tama Imperialstar Saturn 12 + 1. It's a big kit, 13 drums, 16 cymbals. The trick is you don't need to hit every drum or every cymbal in every song.
I'd love to meet him. Seems like a nice, humble person.

Tommy in bands with 2 of the greatest guitar legends ever to play... Shawn Lane & Randy Rhoads!! I know there were other awesome guitarists he played with, but Shawn and Randy were from another planet!! .. It'd be awesome to pick his brain, and hear some stories.....

Even though Tommy did not get the chance to play with the late great Shawn Lane in a band. Besides Randy, Tommy did jam with a few other kick-azz guitarists no bout a doubt it. "Gary Moore, John Sykes, Tony MacAlpine, Ted Nugent, Doug Aldrich, Vinnie Moore, Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, & Jake E. Lee." I'd say that's a pretty good bunch of shredders to have on your resume, right? 🤔 🤘😉🤘☮️
wow what a genuinely nice guy
