The Iconic Drumming Behind “Over The Mountain” | Ozzy Osbourne Song Breakdown

Join Tommy Aldridge as he discusses the iconic drumming in the song "Over The Mountain" by Ozzy Osbourne. Tommy fondly recalls the joy of performing the song live with Randy and Ozzy. He praises the song's well-constructed drum part, which follows Randy Rhoads' lead and plays itself with its unique character. Randy encouraged Tommy to add his own touch, making the performance heavier and more impactful. 🤘🏼

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Aldridge backstage on the 1988 Motley Crue / Whitesnake tour in Hampton, Virginia. He was a complete gentleman and singed my drum sticks and Whitesnake CD. He took about ten minutes to talk to me and answer my questions, as he was genuinely interested in my opinion about the show. He's such a class act! He hasn't changed a bit in over 30 years as he hits his kit like they owe him money. Legend.

His humanity, sensitivity and humility are unsurpassed in the world of professional musicians! Even if you’re not a fan of his style ya gotta love him as a person!
