Just want to add, I was handed this game at age 9, around 2002, playing it on my first PC, at the time this was the most complicated game for my young self, I spent YEARS trying to complete it, and now age 31, watching this, hearing the sounds, seeing the game play, just does something to me that I cant explain.

This was my first TR game. Still loving it, despite having a bad rap amongst community

Hope they do a remaster of this along with the other PS1 Tomb Raider games. Probably make this one look a lot better, maybe longer and more enticing.

@@Croft_Ed That was the first Tomb Raider game I was exposed to back when I was about 10 or 11 years old. My sister and my cousin used to play it a lot. Though I think I got the better of the game than they did. Completed it several times. Don't think they did the same.

I remember playing this game for the first time in 2003 so over 20 years ago and it was the first tomb raider game I played. I enjoyed it. I love the tomb raider games. They are fun to play. I do have to say though that I like the PS1 tomb raider games better than the more recent ones.

Chronicles will always hold a place in my heart as a classic TR game. However, there's no doubt that it objectively just... isn't the best (the fact that you beat the whole thing in 3.5 hours speaks volumes). But this was a great playthrough and trip down memory lane!

You play very tactical, great moves!

The aesthetics during that section are eerily pretty. Very different from the other TRs.

I love how in the colosseum bit, lara is hanging by the edge. we know she's safe from the multiple times she's hung from an edge like this, but gotta make it real so pierre believes he can save her xD

Brilliant playthrough of the 5th Tomb Raider game. I never understood why people didn't really like it much. I thought it was great! I mean sure it's kinda all over the place, being snippets of Laras adventures but thats what it was supposed to be, and it's still good. The Irish level in particular. Thanks again for another fantastic playthrough 😀

20 years ago I played this game, of all the games in the series I liked it the most. Addictive, fun, easy to play and with great graphics for its time, this week I decided I wanted to play the whole game through to the end again. Just nostalgia

From tomb raider 3 onwards the developers made it too difficult to know what was interactive/ornament. Puzzles were too obscure sometimes too. And the darkness level on Ps1 made the games barely playable. I bought all these games on day 1 and I am a huge fan but seeing how “average” trchronicles was made me sad. I still think they should upload them on the Ps store on HD and with possibility to save

I like it too. But after seeing how Core Design was exhausted developing this game. I can say why the lack of new ideas on TRC except for Vci levels. 🥲

That feature only works when you're playing with Tomb5 Patch by Trxye 😅

My First Tomb Raider was quite some years back now (That was Tomb Raider 1 in 2010 or so, I don't exactly know when?) But i have always liked Tomb Raider Legend myself).

I love Legend as well, even if the game didn't feature great depth of story in each country.

老實說我頗為欣賞這作以倒敘、插敘的形式講述羅拉「生前」的各種小故事,當時年幼的我被他那通過三位與羅拉最親的人拼湊出各種分支線(和那又酷又好看的潛行裝🌚)深深吸引。不過在之後我慢慢發現這作有很多事件與時間線對不上,如: 明明羅拉的背包是於1984年在哥倫比亞從一位早已成骷髏的探險者上拿到的(Last Revelation),但在愛爾蘭篇明明故事設定在哥倫比亞探險之前但年幼的蘿拉背後已經有那背包。 在羅馬篇明明羅拉與Larson,Pierre交手過,但不知為何在第一集中他們又彷彿無仇無怨。由其是Pierre,為什麼他在羅馬掉進深淵依然沒事。 和最後的VCI篇,為什麼羅拉會知道她與Von Croy在1984尋找的Iris放在Von Croy的大廈中?以當時的時間線來看她不是以為Von Croy已經死了才對嗎?更何況她為何會知道Iris最後的下落。 如果邏輯上可以對得上時間是我相信這作我們這些粉絲們應該都會買帳,也可能不至於使一個曾經震驚全球的商業傳說殞落,不過之前聽開發員工所說此作的誕生是高層所逼,五年裏他們早已被林林總總的壓力導致對開發失去熱情,所以有一些缺陷感覺還可以理解就是了:)。 總括而言,我認為此作還是挺underated就是了,像Angel Of Darkness一樣都是有潛力但被外界所逼的「半成品」。

I think they didn't die before TR1. Cuz It would make 0 sense if they die in Rome adventure, which was taken place before the event in TR1 😅

Larson was just thrown away by the serpents, and probably ran away. And you don't see Pierre's body in the pit. That kinda explains a bit.

I remember doing this years ago when a copy was included with a Nokia mobile phone it came with a second disc that enabled you to ‘build’ levels for the game, Windows XP was the OS. I’ve always wondered how these videos are done & recorded is it down to clever editing on Steven3517’s part?

I love this game but at the same time, they did make this game too short and kind of rushed it. I don't like you don't have items you found and start over in the finding them again in a different map like all the items you found in Rome and Lara heads to Russia, all the items are discard except her small and large medkit. They kind of should've kept it like TR4 but done it little bit different and made more levels and story like how she survived and who save her after she escape alive. From what I think like I think when Lara is recovering her injuries sleeping, she's sleeping about her past when she was younger with the priest who went to this strange land. After that when she recover, the level should've started Rome, Russia, and other levels in order. I do in fact that they smooth out the camera movement which it was a great start and enable her do crawl flip and should've allow her to roll while crawling.

Does anyone know how to make Laura roll under a crawlspace, Ive seen it done on this video but can't find any references..I'm not referring to her crawlspace roll off an edge, but just rolling under a crawlspace..

Oh, that's an exclusive movement on Tomb5 Patch. Crawlspace rolling was supposed to be a part of the official games, but in the end Core Design didn't add that. So the fan developer decided to add it back with the integrated features from PSX on Tomb5 Patch 😅

This game was quite bad, I feel sorry for the developers. It was obv their heart was not in this game but they were forced to develop it anyways. And the guy who designed Ireland is the same who designed London and Cairo levels, how he wasnt fired after those disasters I dont understand.

How did you make Lara run faster?

Just a correction: this is called tomb5, not TR5Main. TRxMain is Arsunt's brand. Trxye's brand is tombX instead. And there *used to* be a TR5Main project but it was not by Arsunt and it was renamed TombEngine because it's not meant for official games, but for custom levels.
