For anyone who also struggles hard to get the second secret: you cannot jump up and grab the wall, but you can just walk forward at the wall while holding the grabbing button, then she will get up.

I haven’t checked yet but is there a rundown of all secrets in the dlcs as well? I’ve never played the DLCs before but apparently you have to find all of them in the golden mask to unlock an additional level?

fascinating, when i was a kid growing up [born 94] i would watch my uncle play this game and would eventually try in my early childhood only to fail. i was always amazed of the puzzle FPS concept, but with that the in game sounds made it even better leaving that eerie feeling. i was puzzled yet intrigued. now that i am almost 28 i think its time to give it another go :) thanks for sharing! very nostalgic.

This is really a very well made guide to all the secrets in TR. Very helpful. For me as a non native English speaker clear and focussed and understandable. Very great job. I have just finished first Tom Raider. Now I am jumping in 1997s TR 2 using your other guide as well. Highly recommending this channel.

I can't be the only one who adores the terribly aged 3D graphics of this game.

crash 1 really did some magic to elevate the ps1 graphics. tomb raider 1 looks so much worse in comparison, but I've never been one to care about graphics. as a kid I couldn't get past the wolves in the first chapter cause I was too scared and I'm now finally playing this game from start to finish.

Thank you so much for creating these, gonna use it for for the remasters 🙏🏻

When I played I jumped from the head of the sphinx because I thought it was a glitch and wanted to see what was stuck there lolol

This was so helpful. I am replaying this game. I used to play it as a kid and I never got to finish it. I am so happy to be trying again! It always drove me crazy that I couldn't find all the secrets! Even the ones with the levers! UGH thank you.

This was the 1st PC game we ever got and it's an amazing game. My family bought a PC in 1997 (I had 9 and my brother 14) and it has a choice for a free game. My brother chose a basketball game, but it didn't work, my dad took it back and returned with this game and no idea what it was. I found this game very scary until I took corage and began to play it during 2000 I think (when I was 12). Such great menories!! Lengendary game!!, the remake wasn't up to the task, sadly... because I was very excited about it.

1:00 If you are playing the 2024 remaster for the 2nd secret you have to jump staying a little bit more to the right. Believe me, if you don't touch the left wall Lara will jump much higher for some reason.

The sound of the levers underwater were always satisfying to me.

13:16 getting that secret used to piss me off to no end because I kept falling into the water, which ruined my chances of getting that secret and having to restart the level. I got it in the end by lowering myself onto the little slope and jumping off at the very edge, but now I see there's an easier way of getting it 😄

This game was my childhood still vividly remember the T-Rex and being scared to death lol

Automatic pistols are Tomb Raider 2, Tomb Raider 1 they're magnums.

The remastered version looks a lot smoother. No wall ripping, And Lara's a lot less blocky. The only complaint I have is Lara is a lot less forgiving on pulling levers and pickups than I remember her being. Sometimes you have to walk around for a few seconds to get in just the right position to pull a lever or pick up an item.

If you're doing this in 2024 for the remaster, on the waterfall level (Lost Valley) get the shotgun as soon as you start the level - there's an achievement for getting the shotgun without picking up any of the cogs

My favourite is the 2nd one in Vilcabamba city, I like how a very detailed room for that time was just an optional one with a secret.

It's my first time playing this game. Recently bought it 3 weeks ago.

I always jumped grabbed for secret 1-2 and itd never grab the ledge. This ruined my playthroughs as a kid cuz I could never figure out if it was a ledge to grab or an unreachable area. I just realized it was up x not square x. Thank you!

30:35 this one is reachable from the top of the sphinx head right at the beginning aswell, if you want to get them much earlier and faster ;) 31:47 i had no idea it was timed, i assumed i had to jump around and grab the ledge with some trick jumps to make it, and i somehow successfully did just that so i never knew it was just on a timer haha.

I’m sure that I will be back here in a few months with the remaster ❤

By now it looks like a pretty much 1:1 remaster, i don't think you need to update the videos actually. @@PlasmaSKX

In the Lost Valley after you pull the level for the cogs you can swim where he did but before you go down the path surface and climb the ledge after you pass the door blocking the waterfall. There’s a skeleton with the Shotgun itself. So it’s not a secret but it’s a early pickup for the shotgun.

Six year old video really useful in 2024 👌 loving the Remaster

There were no automatic pistols in TR1, they didn't appear until TR2, what you're picking up there is magnum ammo. The only automatic weapons in TR1 were the uzis. In TR2, the automatic pistols came before the uzis, and the added weapons were the M16, harpoon gun, and grenade launcher. By TR3, my memory starts to slip, but I think the desert eagle and MP5 were in that one, with the MP5 replacing the M16. The rocket launcher may also have been there by that point. TR4 added the revolver and scope, but I don't think I ever finished that one.

I don't think I ever got the pickups past the clanging teeth secret of palace midas.. I tried so many times but found out that as soon as you hear the secret sound it still counts.. And the uzi secret is so cruel.. You have to grab an invisible platform to take it then at the end of the level they take it from you!!

Using the d pad for the tricky multi direction jumps @18:14 maybe easier.

Why... WHY, I've only gotten the second secret twice because Lara only decided on those rare occasions to grab onto the ledge while the rest of the time the grab key doesn't f..kin work.. *sigh*

5 years late I know, but the solution is not to jump and then grab, but to hold forward and grab and she will auto grab the ledge

I’m playing on tomb raider 1 on Nintendo Switch and I’m in level 5 and I’m having trouble trying to pass the electricity coming a wards getting one of the keys i know i haven’t played it since 2009.

So I’m confused about something. How are you pulling up that item select wheel? Is that not in remastered? I always have to go into the pitch black menu and scroll through names of items.

the colosseum secret where you jump on pillars i did exactly as you but the door to secret doesn't open even tho i did exactly as you did, its frustration

Actually at 36:00 there’s 4 large Medkits in the room where you throw a Switch and lava chases you any idea on how to grab the medkits or did the devs do that to mess with the players also for the very last level of the game it don’t matter if you grab all the secrets the game bugs if you grab the second and or the 3rd at the end it says 2/3 always no idea why but it dose also grew up playing Tomb Raider I’m actually playing on PS Vita right now I own 1/4

I'm having this problem too. I get the 3 secrets in the last phase, but in the third secret, that sound doesn't play, and when I finish the phase, it says that I only found 2/3. I don't know why this happens.

4th game was crispiest one

Anyone know if you can replay levels in the new remaster? And can i just go to a level i missed a secret on and still get bonus lvs? Or do you have to do it in 1 playthrough?

How do you make the second jump in the first level I mean the second secret. I've been jumping in Laura fails to grab the ledge.

I want to know a puzzle if someone recalls, i dont know what tr game it was but ill try to explain as good as i can there was a cradle which you need to spin, then move towards that path then crouch and there was a door which was timed. Dont know but my best guess is it was from TR5 Please help.

How do I get to the second secret of the first level? (caverns). It took 30 min. trying to climb but not grabbing. I do the jump right from the same place, but it doesn't hold.

It's almost damn near impossible to get the 2nd secret on the Playstation version. I just jumped until it glitched me up amazingly...

Took me ages to figure that out. I remember that was the secret that ended up with me restarting the whole game for 100% competition even though I made it to St Francis Folly. On my blind playthrough it didn't work, so I assumed I was not meant to go there. Now using your guide for secrets :) Got them all up to Cistern.@@PlasmaSKX

Hmm strange, I can hang on the wall on the first level, second secret... oh well lol thanks for confirming that I was actually right and there is something there

I had to look for the missing secret in Pallace Midas on KZread. There's a package at the top of a column, but I had no idea how to get there. After watching the video, I discovered that it was not a secret, but rather a bug in the game. I would like to know, what happens if I find all the secrets?

You just get much more resources for the tough battles and big guns early. Unlike TR 2 where secrets are truly useless.

I got all 3 Tomb Raider games, itsjust my PS1 is broken. 😕🙁 + 30:45-30:54 break dance on the invisible platform. 😁😂😋😏

o man its tough getting Secrets on the PS1 version of tomb raider because of the fucking save crystals !!!!! is the only way to save on playstation lol

Fun fact. You can skip picking the pistols up on natlas mines, cuts out finding all the fuses. Just run past the cowboy. On the path in between cowboy man and skateboard kid there's a side passage at the pillars in the lava bit. In there is a shotgun on the floor (you gotta move the block before the boulder comes) and there you go, you are armed. The only thing is, you don't have magnums now. Not that it really matters, It's uzi's all the way to the end screen from here anyway.

The last secret never works for me on ps1 always end up with 2/3 secrets 😢

Hi everyone, I remember when playing TR 1 as a kid, while on the loading screen of continuing my game, I'd press the L1 L2 and R1 R2 buttons all at once on my controller on PS1, and hold them, which wouldn't load my save game file but a secret level? Has anybody made that experience and can tell me what that level is called? I can't find information about this anywhere, it really makes me feel like I'm the only one who's ever seen this? 😳😕

@@savageweathergaming3156 Hey there! Thanks, that would be awesome! I played it on the Playstation 1 back then! As far as I remember it doesn't matter which level. All I did was load my save game file in the game and while on the loading screen I'd press these buttons: L1, L2, R1, R2 all of them at once and HOLD THEM for the whole loading screen. As far as I remember a different loading screen would show up after a while and that strange level would come up.

The timed secret in St Francis' Folly is a bitch on PS1 v1.0. I get to the bottom and as soon as I do the door closes. Timing is super tight.
