to be fair the coal only works if you have something to heat it.

If this doesn't already exist; I want the option to leave survivor notes to be found by future players in their own survival and challenge playthrough maps. The notes could be used as fire starter otherwise but I think it could help others map out routes, survival tips, or possibly warnings

Subnautica has a system like that with Time Capsules you can leave when you finish the game, it's got a public approval process to filter out terrible stuff

@@buttahXD Guarantee it would include something about the crows. seems like there's already a crow mythology about them signalling a bad change to the weather. or "quietly" warning about bears (never heard this one, but I dont play with headphones on) "Get to shelter if you see the crows flying off. If they think its too cold, why are you still out?"

For your character being a Canadian he whines about being cold alot. This is an average walk to school in the winter complete with wolves and ghost

@@rorrim0 Can you please explain "haunted cactus"? Is it like the same-looking cactus appearing in different places, making you believe that the cactus is following you? Or is it like with eastern european forests where you`re walking somewhere deep in a forest and just see a human face carved into a tree, except here it`s with a cactus? I`m geniunely interested

Your character crash lands here since the weird electrical aurora storms shut down his plane midair. So I don't think he's from Canada, especially since he never apologizes 50 times to the plane for crashing it

@@somedouchemcbag987 The former does happen, though that's usually a possession, and sometimes the cacti dance. Haunting is more a spirit is using it as a house rather then a suit. State also uses them as prisons for illegal ghosts.

I love how a fall of 1 meter is enough for your character to scream in pain and how it takes 55 minutes of using a hammer to break a wooden chair, still this is a good game but i hope the devs fix some things

It would be more realistic if you could use the knife as a firestarter, since some survival knives have a notch in them exactly for that purpose. The in game hunting knife doesn't have one, but I suppose you could use the edge as to do it at the expense of it's overall durability. (Tho you'd still need something to strike against it to create a spark)

@@theoverseer4886 Pretty sure that what he meant by the notch. I think I've seen a knife that has a handle that can come apart to take out some flint, so you can strike it against the knife.

Hope he actually continues this playthrough like he said at the end. But the longer the days go on without another one, the more it looks like I'll have to wait till next year for more long dark :(

Hideo Kojimbo said since the beginning he wanted to make death stranding into a franchise. So a lot of the design nonsense of death stranding 1 makes a lot of sense from the context of being an overall experimental foundation. It looks like we are going in a good direction, but of course it could always crap out in the end.

The Long Dark is one of those games that I've dedicated HOURS AND HOURS to, but it's one of the only games that I just have never figured out how to actually survive in. No matter where I go, I never find shelter. Whenever I do find some type of shelter, there's never food. I can NEVER, EVER find food or anything I need to survive in this game, or if I do, it's not in the quantities that I need. I have the same problem with this game that I have with 7 Days to Die. No matter how much I loot, there's never any food, or water, or any of the stuff I need in the quantities that I need. I will usually find lots of every item EXCEPT food or water. I've never figured out the secret to finding what you need to survive in this game. I see all these KZreadrs just running here and there and finding whatever they need. I never find ANY of that stuff. How do they do it???

You need to use the world to survive though, hunt deer and eventually get cooking to 5 to eat wolves and bears n shit.
