TOM STEVENS was someone I met through tape trading. After the Long Ryders broke up he lamented to me the woes of having been signed to a major label and not selling records (in debt to the record company). Tom described having solo material with members of the Paisley Underground royalty and I ended up starting a label to release his albums. Maia Records also released CDs by three Cleveland acts, Al's Fast Freight, The Janglers, and Oroboros (in alphabetical order guys!).
Yesterday I digitized a cassette from 1989 full of answering machine messages including these from Tom. Hope they bring a smile to those who miss Tom Stevens. #tomstevens #longryders #answeringmachinemessages
