Back in the 1980s Magnum PI was one of my favorite TV shows to watch. I was ill recently and I stayed home and was watching old magnum PI episodes from the mid eighties that I haven't seen since then. They were really good. The TV shows of today are crap. The 1980s will never be duplicated again.

You missed not only Quigley down under, but also the Sacketts movie, as well as another western, The Shadow Riders. He became a very believable western actor, to be sure. The other omission would be the Jesse Stone film series. It appears that some research is lacking here.

Left? He is still on TV on that cop show. It might not still be on, but they sure still rerun it on off nights like Sunday. It could not have been long ago that they still made new ones. Plus he’s in his 70s now. I don’t get this why people in the public eye are expected to never retire. You do not see people retire from their jobs and say “The reason this doctor left medicine” because they don’t leave in their 70s. They retire.

Think Tom Selleck would be interested in a Magnum P.I. movie? Incorporating his TV daughter might help.

I'd heard he'd come on hard times for some reason and was considering getting a reverse mortgage on his ranch. That's probably why he still has to work at his age. Sad.

I love Tom Sellick. Magnum PI is my go to show when I have nothing to watch. I just miss the 80s shows and movies. Todays movies and shows are so polarizing and too left leaning. Everything new is almost unbearable to watch. Tv is nothing but political correctness and pushing homosexuality and so called “diversity”

Tom was the only Magnum P.I. the reboot was crap, not that i ever watched a full episode. The fact it has been cancelled says it all.

He doesn't emphasize it, but we know he was sick with diabetes at the time. And Hawaii doesn't have the medical care that Los Angeles does

Didn't Tom get busted for procuring water from a well during a drought ban? Something to do with his avocado plantation? Not even sure this is true, but nobody's perfect! And did anyone notice his daughter is her mums twin, wow, they're completely identical, barely a scratch of Selleck looks there! lol

Poorly researched and poorly portrayed narrative. This article left out his entire movie career (Her Alibi, three men and a baby, an innocent man, mr baseball, Quigley Down Under, etc), all of which took place BEFORE his appearance on Friends. Tom Selleck left television to pursue MOVIES, and he made a lot of them between 1988-1995.

Please quit trying to draw people in my headlines saying Tom Selleck finally admits why he left Magnum PI. It's not necessary to make things sound worse than they really are just because people enjoy train wrecks.
