I think it was originally from his first ever Facebook post. A few comedians immediately jumped on how awkward and forced it was. It sort of just took a life of its own on YMH because of the comedy Tom was able to get out of it. And it just continued to grow like any natural meme.

This is perfect, introduced my parents to Tommy buns a few years back, wasn’t sure how I’d explain the Garth brooks joke. I’ll just send them this😂

I had always seen how huge Garth was with his fans and always felt like I must be missing something the way I feel like I’m missing out because I haven’t seen a TV show like Breaking Bad or Mad Men yet. Thank god I never wasted time on him. “And when you’re done competing, compete again.”

Honestly G could easily be a psychopath. They thrive in positions of power (like management, CEOs, etc.) and becoming a music legend allows him not only the money to make things go away (the bodies) but the chance to go from place to place in order to evade suspicion from the public as well as adopting a persona of being a good-natured, down to earth country star. The kind of man you’d see and think “oh, that’s Garth Brooks, he’s a talented singer and he’s a celebrity and he couldn’t possibly be responsible for that girl kidnapped at gunpoint in the dead of night.” I think it took Tom and Christina opening our eyes to the truth. They recognize the predatory stare, the shallow affect, the lack of emotion or even forced/rehearsed emotion. They pulled the wool from our eyes. I live around where he does in Oklahoma and I’ve driven past his land. There is so much of it and it’s gated/fenced off so he could 100% pull it off if he wanted to. I think those “low places” he has friends in are found six feet under his property
