I don't think that's always the case, or even mostly the case here. I occasionally watch Tom Scott videos (so KZread will think they are linked), but I got this video recommended to me by KZread and based on the comments and his subscriber number since, I'm probably not the only one.
Amazing Kurtis! I joined back around the history of the Universe in 13,799 dominoes and I am so glad to see you gain more and more subscribers off the back of this! Keep it up.

Glad to be a new subscriber!
I am one of your new subscribers and specifically one who found your channel because of that Tom Scott video. I’m happy for your success, but more selfishly I hope that you keep making awesome content. Because my attention span is very short, it takes a lot to keep my interest, but so far I have not been disappointed.
Keep up the great content! As long as you will, your channel will grow. I'm curious to see your future. Merci à toi!
Idea for more subscribers: 1) place a camera in front of that cactus machinery 2) stream it 24/7 3) people will subscribe to see the bucket move and the water drop. bonus) you may write the new sub's name on screen for everyone to see. People will like to see their name shown. You may also make something more complex than that (marble drop on a trail? more buckets on rotation?).
You have amazing content, and i love how you put your values into it (zero waste, no ads, etc..). keep being awesome! :)
