@@JD-ib9zd that was a bad Brady pass but everyone blames Wes. Like we get it, it was definitely catchable but when Tom has a clean pocket with no pressure on him on a 20 yard throw, he tosses it high and behind Wes in opposite momentum, I blame Tom. If Brady hits Welker in the chest like he should have, the pats win that super bowl. On top of that, the pats were fucking stacked, your QB is supposed to be able to score more than 14 and 17 points in the super bowl 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@gregtrust5599 I gotta disagree with you. The ball was directly in his hands. He had full possession and dropped it. An all-pro should easily be able to make that catch. Also if you're talking about a qb being able to put up more points, Manning in 2013 was a beast throwing for 55 tds. The Broncos scored 8 points in the SB. Brady played a clean game, the Giants were just on a war path.

I remember being 18 during this game and I was so excited for the season that I knew the Pats were about to have. Tom was in his absolute prime right here and he deserves more credit for what he did during this 2011 season. Coming off of the lockout, our defense was not very good and didn’t have the chemistry that we were accustomed to during parts of the dynasty. We knew we had Brady in his prime though, and boy did he show it. Pats fans went into every season with the super bowl on our minds and we were confident like that because we knew how great our quarterback was. We knew that we had an absolute legend in Brady and pairing him with Belichick gave us an advantage that no other team has had. Year after year we went into every season with the full belief that we had the best qb and coach and every year they put us in contention for titles. It’s truly the end of an era now that Tom Brady is leaving New England.

As a life-long Patriots fan, Tom Brady leaving has hit me pretty hard. I hoped he would retire a Patriot, but considering the position New England was in and what Tampa Bay was offering, it appears that Tampa was simply too good for Tom to turn down. I'm a Patriots fan no matter what, but I'm damn sure gonna be cheering for Brady regardless. Hope he gets #7, #8 and every next ring until he decides to hang it up. I know there are few doubters of Tom Brady at this point, but screw it, prove 'em all wrong Tommy! Only wish him the best.

The Pats had a truly incredible offense that year. Not a one dimensional powerhouse like 2007 either. It was a flexible, efficient killing machine. They could spread you out 5 wide and beat man to man coverage with anyone on the field. They could kill the best nickel defenses in the league with their 11 personnel or bring in 2 or 3 TE's and just power run it down the field. Gronk, Hernandez and Woodhead were virtually unstoppable when on the field together and made it so teams could not match up. If you put speed on the field, they'd bring it in tight and run the ball. If you brought size, each one was a *deadly* receiving threat and could flex out and they'd throw it on you. The defense was their achilles heel all year. The offense was so good most games that it didn't matter but once they got to the Super Bowl - that all changed. Gronk was hobbled with a serious ankle injury that required surgery just a few weeks later once the swelling went down. He was no where near as effective running routes or blocking and played merely as a decoy. The Giants pass rush was elite that year and it eliminated most of the Pat's down field passing game and controlled their running attack. On top of that, unlike his understudy Julian Edelman, Wes Welker could not make the big plays when needed to in Super Bowls. That year, even with an injured Gronk and playing against an elite Giants front-7, the Patriots were one decent safety and D-lineman away from winning that Super Bowl. It's no surprise to me that after that game, Devin McCourty was transitioned to and solidified their free safety position for the next decade. Had that transition happened a year earlier, or if Albert Haynesworth would've played near his prior capability or if they'd have spent Ochocinco's contract money on a starting DB or D-lineman, Brady and Belichick would've likely had 7 Super Bowl wins together and revenge against the Giants. Ah, well. Shit happens. 🤷 Side note; Wes Welker was a great player but Julian Edelman was a great *Patriot.* That's why one has three rings and the other has *none."

Man that 2011 Dolphins team had Reggie Bush, Brandon Marshall, Cameron Wake, Vontae Davis, Karlos Dansby, Reshad Jones, and a veteran Jason Taylor. And they started off the year 0-7! These were the days where they relied too much on Chad Henne at QB

Relied on Henne too much? LOL Henne started a grand total of 31 games in his 4 years in Miami. In typical Miami fashion, they were 0-7 and in prime position to be able to draft Andrew Luck, but they messed that up by winning 6 of their last 9 games.

Tazer what are you talking about Jamies is one of only a few guys to do it, the 2011 season (due to the strike) had by far the most 5000 yard seasons as it wasn’t just Brady and Brees but Rodgers (who was the MVP), Stafford and a few others as well
