I was lucky enough to see the band a number of times and I recall one particularly cool moment: the show had just ended and Steve Ferrone leapt to the front of the stage to hand his still-smoking drum sticks to a very lucky kid in the front row. (Turns out the Ferrone had met the fan backstage before the show.) He could have easily handed the sticks off to his drum tech to give to the fan, but instead he did it himself. And then joing the rest of the Heartbreakers for their final bows. That moment of kindness sums up the band’s appreciative attitude toward their fans.
Thurston is such an under appreciated legend, dudes so damn good

Scott Thurston is the pride of Medford, Oregon. He goes back to the 2nd incarnation of Iggy Pop and the Stooges.
My god.. how much I miss Tom, this band are so warm and so humble and such an incredible musicians. I hope all the members can join again and find a singer and continue. Besides that, THANKS a lot for putting this album out, it's amazing and listening to it is like being right there in the audience. ♥
I finally was able to pick up the four CD set. My money is not a lot, but I had to make sure I could get it. So of course, I’m loving every second.
I was at this event on Thursday November 10, 2022. It was awesome!!!!
this box set is an A+. I wish every song played could have been released. I want more.
What a stage of beautiful souls You can feel their love for Tom & eachother, playing music & wanting to preserve the magic of the Fillmore & the bands legacy.
A great band, the best with the absolute best songwriter and singer Tom. ❤️💔🤩
The best cover band ever ,the way they did Booker T’s Hip hug her absolute gem
tom petty was a 1980s version of bob dylan of the 1960s. tom's lyrics in the 1980s and his presentation/voice were second to none.
I love the Fillmore CDs I bought. Thank you. Just love, love, love to all of you.
This is fantastic, and I got the big album box set of Fillmore for my birthday; it's just amazing and thanks to everyone for doing a great job delivering TP & the HB's best stuff to us. Tom will be with us always.
Love this what a band they are still talking about Tom and we are still listening. Saw them in London a few times. Best live band I've ever seen . Miss u Tom and Howie

I love this! Thank you all for making this box set possible!
That's no exaggeration about The Heartbreakers being the best cover band ever. They almost always gave us the definitive live version of the classic rock and blues songs they loved.
Best American rock band the world has ever seen
These dear, lovely guys. ❤️😢
I have a dvd called High Grass Dogs which is a recording of the last night at the Fillmore - it’s my favourite concert on dvd - the energy is palpable and Tom looks so happy and like he’s having so much fun - especially when he has to re-start Even The Losers twice 😂 - what a beautiful soul - what an amazing band. 🎩🎸🎵❤️💘
Thanks for this great gem!!
A musician friend of mine gave me a bootleg recording of the Heartbreakers on April 12, 1999 at Irving Plaza in NYC. It was a smaller venue also than the stadium shows I had seen them at myself. The crowd was close and intimate with the whole vibe, and you could tell the band was loose and really enjoying themselves. They were promoting the new album Echo at the time, but the show included many cover-songs they did, including "GLORIA," with Tom's ad-lib storytelling for about five minutes in the middle of the 8-minute track being priceless. I expect the Fillmore recordings to be similar (or much better, considering my bootleg copy of the '99 show has mediocre sound quality).

I was at that show. 😍 They did three shows at Irving Plaza and I was lucky to get a couple of tickets to one. It was a very, very difficult ticket. Definitely among the very best TP shows I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a lot. So much better than the “stadium” shows.
Just amazing
Loved this! Thank you! ♥
I was at the last show, it was 4 hours long, and I had a 3 hour drive to get home and I was exhausted as I left and picked up my poster on the way out the door. Definitely the longest show I was ever at for one band. It was amazing.

The Fillmore. Not the Fillmore West, as the host said in the opening.. two different venues..In 1997 I worked at The Mo at that time, was such a wonderful time and expierence! I later in 1999 worked for Tom as his Tour security.......
I just love how when Cheryl asked that question everybody just looked to Benmont to answer that question.
Howie looked really sickly at the last show with Bo Diddly

Masks reduce the transmission of airborne particles as a consequence they reduce the transmission of colds (including coronavirus known as Covid) and flu, among other airborne illness. In certain Asian societies people routinely wear masks in winter cold/flu season which reduces transmission. Your dentist will wear a mask to reduce risk. So will your surgeon. I’m not wearing a mask and I think it looks silly but that doesn’t mean I will write idiotic material like wearing a mask is worthless.
