My late mom was given a copy of this video by her primary care doctor sometime in the late '80s and everything you see about how the blood glucose testing took place is exactly how it happened back then. My mom was always concerned about my blood glucose levels and she tested it on a regular basis when I was growing up and the way you see it being done in the video is how it was done back in the '80s and early '90s. By the mid '90s they streamlined the process to where it wasn't nearly as involving a process as what you see here, and by 2000 it was both foolproof and painless, to where you only needed a small drop of blood and the test strip sucked it up into a reservoir that didn't require you to wipe it off.

Tom Parks talked a bit about his diabetes on his first appearance on Match Game in 1990. He said on there that one day while (five years prior) he was working in Missouri, he all of a sudden wasn't feeling good. He then went to a doctor and he told him that he had diabetes.

This YT channel is like a Wheel of the Worst goldmine, or maybe tar pit at least.

@@ColonelPanic0 not really; this is just a collection of uploads of videos that never would have gotten an upgrade to DVD, is all. The only things preventing this video from that upgrade were that the information about testing was outdated by the time it would've been released onto DVD and the fact that some of the featured celebrities were only "celebrities" for a short time period. Otherwise this was actually a very informative and pretty entertaining video for its time. It's not exactly "Everything is Terrible" material.
